Video Captures Man Sprinting Toward White House After Jumping Fence: ‘Everybody Out Right Now!’ (UPDATE: Man Made It Inside White House)

UPDATE — 11:45 p.m. ET: A man who jumped the White House fence Friday evening made it inside the North Portico doors of the presidential residence before being apprehended by authorities, the Secret Service told the Associated Press.

The suspect was identified as 42-year-old Omar J. Gonzalez. It was not immediately clear why he sought to breach the perimeter.

Secret Service spokesman told the Associated Press that the man appeared to be unarmed as he ran across the White House lawn and through the doors, prompting an evacuation.

Gonzalez, who was arrested, was transported to the hospital because he complained of chest pain.

The White House was temporarily locked down Friday evening after a man jumped over the fence and gained entry to the grounds.

“Everybody out right now!” a Secret Service agent instructed individuals standing outside the White House perimeter. “Right now … Everybody, get back! Get back!”

Video appeared to capture the chaotic scene.

“This dude just jumped the fence right in front of me!!” an individual said, posting video to Instagram.

Photos showed agents with automatic weapons also instructing individuals to evacuate the area.

The evacuation was later lifted after the Secret Service cleared the area.
