CNN was heavily skewered online early Tuesday morning for headlines that initially appeared on their website and on-air following the deadly terrorist attack in Jerusalem.
“4 Israelis, 2 Palestinians killed in synagogue attack, Israeli police say,” the cable news network’s online headline initially read.
“4 Israelis, 2 Palestinians dead in Jerusalem,” CNN’s chyron read on-air.
The headlines noticeably omitted that the two Palestinians were the individuals armed with guns and knives who authorities said were responsible for the attack which claimed the lives of at least four worshippers.
Individuals were quick to slam CNN on Twitter for the headline.

Israeli’s widely-read Ynet news website described the headlines as “outrageous.”
“Israelis who were hoping for some understanding, internationally, instead were stuck with CNN in an item whose headline was outrageous,” a story on their website read.
The headline was later amended, removing the reference to the dead attackers.
