The Minister Louis Farrakhan cast doubt on the official narrative surrounding the Sept. 11 terror attacks, claiming in a speech he delivered over the weekend that there were “many Israelis and Zionist Jews in key roles” in the horrific event that claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 people.
Farrakhan, the fiery leader of the Nation of Islam, frequently looked down at the podium, presumably reading from prepared notes, as he made a series of eyebrow-raising proclamations during a March 1 lecture at the Mosque Maryam in Chicago, Illinois.
“We know now that the crime that they say is at the root of terrorism was not committed by Arabs or Muslims at all,” he said. “Over 2,300 of America’s trained architects and engineers have joined in calling for a new investigation of 9/11.”
Farrakhan went on to conjure up a scenario in which bombs were placed inside the World Trade Center buildings, claiming that the fuel and impact from the airplanes that crashed into each tower wouldn’t have been enough on their own to bring the buildings down.
“But if it was not Muslims, then who?” Farrakhan said, going on to cite authors and theorists who believe that Israel played a role in the attacks. “It is now becoming apparent that there were many Israelis and Zionist Jews in key roles in the 9/11 attacks.”
The fiery faith leader went on to challenge his critics to prove him wrong, claiming — without going into specifics — that he believes some of his staunch opponents want to kill him.
“We’re dealing with thieves, and liars — and murderers,” Farrakhan said.
He went claim that many Jews working in the Twin Towers received text messages telling them not to go to work on Sept. 11, 2001, rhetorically asking his audience who sent those messages.
“It now appears that 9/11 was a false flag operation, which is an attack by one country, but made to appear like the attack came from another in order to start a war between them,” he said. “Is this what friendship is?”
Watch Farrakhan’s comments below:
The Anti-Defamation League responded to the sermon Tuesday by claiming that blaming the Jews for the terror attack is a common tactic that the Nation of Islam uses to stir “anti-Semitic hatred.”
The Jewish organization also noted one other theory involving the owner of the World Trade Center that Farrakhan mentioned in his sermon.
“Citing ‘evidence’ from anti-Semitic 9/11 conspiracy theorists that Israelis were supposedly ‘arrested immediately after the attacks but quickly released and sent to Israel,’ that the attacks were a plot for the Jewish owner of the World Trade Center to collect billions of dollars in insurance money, that ‘Israelis had foreknowledge of the attacks,'” explained an Anti-Defamation League..
As TheBlaze has documented, Farrakhan is no stranger to speaking about his views on Sept. 11, suggesting in a 2012 speech that the terror attack was planned by the government as an excuse to go to war. Some of his past statements about Jews have also been seen as less than favorable.
