NBC News Reporter: Trump Campaign Now Requires Reporters Have Bathroom Escorts at Rallies

"Let's be clear, this is even happening AFTER the event."

The Donald Trump campaign said Tuesday it would now require reporters to have an escort with them when leaving the zoned off media area to use the restroom, according to an NBC News reporter.

Katy Tur, who has been covering the Trump campaign for the Peacock Network, tweeted that bathroom escorts were now mandatory and would be enforced by the Secret Service.

Trump's requirement reporters remain in the designated press area and not venture out to speak to rally attendees has drawn attention over the last few days.

When CNN reporter Noah Gray ventured out to film an altercation with a Black Lives Matter protester, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowsky scolded him.

Others have also tweeted about similar incidents.

The Trump campaign did not respond to a request for comment from TheBlaze Tuesday night.

Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton drew scrutiny over the summer when her campaign roped off the media as she campaigned in New Hampshire. The Clintons were also criticized for having an aide escort a New York Times reporter to the restroom at the Clinton Global Initiative.
