Activists on both sides of the American abortion debate have speculated that abortion will be a significant issue in the 2016 election cycle due to renewed interest in the issue in 2015.
Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, is no exception. On Tuesday, the organization tweeted:

The use of the phrase “out on a limb” spurred a great deal of reaction on Twitter since the organization is facing allegations that they are trafficking aborted fetal body parts.

Can we donate that limb, and will there be compensation that helps us do a "little better than" break even? https://t.co/jIFiWzbgkF

The allegations that Planned Parenthood is profiting from the sale of aborted fetal body parts were raised by a series of undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, in which senior Planned Parenthood executives appear to discuss the sale of the body parts with actors portraying buyers from a human biologics company.
In the first video released by the Center for Medical Progress, Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s senior director of medical services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, said that Planned Parenthood abortion providers are “very good at getting heart, lung, liver,” and estimated a price of $30 to $100 “per specimen.”
Profiting from the sale of human organs, including those of the unborn, is illegal in the United States.
Spokesmen for Planned Parenthood have denied that the organization is making a profit from illegal transactions and that it is merely reimbursed for “reasonable expenses related to tissue donation.” Planned Parenthood has announced that it will no longer accept “reimbursement.”
