Ted Cruz Appears on Fox News NYE Special to Usher in 2016 By Blasting Obama, Clinton in Scathing Monologue

Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz appeared on Fox News to usher in 2016 Thursday night — and he did so by slamming President Barack Obama and Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

“2016 is going to be an incredible year,” the Texas senator proclaimed. “2016 is going to be the last year of the Obama presidency. 2016 is going to be the last year before Hillary retires permanently to Chappaqua.”

Cruz added, “2016 is going to be the last year that we have Obamacare. 2016 is going to be the last year until we abolish the IRS. And 2016 is going to be the last year until we utterly destroy ISIS and defeat radical Islamic terrorism. Like 1980, 2016 is going to be a very, very good year.”

The presidential candidate, who has gained traction in recent weeks, ended his New Year’s Eve message by telling a story he said he’s “heard on the trail.”

The story Cruz told centered around a man who repeatedly asked a Marine in 2017 if Obama was at the White House. The Marine, Cruz said, would tell the man that Obama’s term had expired, until one day he grew frustrated and let it show. Cruz said the man told the Marine in return, “I know that. I just love hearing you say it.” The Marine then saluted and enthusiastically replied, “See you again tomorrow!”

“2016 is going to be a very, very good year,” Cruz concluded in his message.
