Atlanta police have arrested two armed robbery suspects and three others linked to crimes using a homeowner’s surveillance footage.
Patti Ellis, the homeowner whose surveillance cameras captured the attack, told WGCL-TV that she “just couldn’t believe [it].”
“We all move here because we want to be in a walking community. We love the attitude of everyone. We’re near the park, and then this makes you cautious every time you walk out the door,” Ellis said.
Police said the attack occurred around 8 p.m.
“When someone’s walking home at 1 o’clock in the morning, it’s not good, but you go, well it’s 1 o’clock in the morning. But not 8 o’clock at night!” Ellis said.
The victims were not seriously injured, but Ellis said the attack made the community nervous about their safety.
“I don’t want anyone moving out of the neighborhood out of fear,” Ellis said. “There’s crime everywhere.”
The footage shows the suspects stalking the victims.
According to the police report, the suspects later jump the victims, and beat one victim over the head with a gun.
