Philly Police Deliver Blizzard PSAs Via ‘Hotline Bling’ Video and ‘Game of Thrones’ Memes

In anticipation of the blizzard forecast to hit the Northeast this weekend, the Philadelphia Police Department got creative with a few winter storm public service announcements.

The various emergency safety tips and warnings about parking violations can seem pretty dry and conventional, but when put to song — or meme — people are more inclined to pay attention.

The department’s first step was to take Drake’s “Hotline Bling” and turn it into a PSA video, saying that city residents should call police on their cell phones when they witness individuals illegally claiming parking spots with traffic cones.

“Since we are a totally hip police department, and as such, we know that the kids like the Drake, we made this neat video that you can share with them! Now, it’s easy for young kids everywhere to get the message that when it comes to holding parking spots on public streets, Philadelphia is a #‎NoSavesies city!” read a Facebook post on the department’s official page.

For those who might not be inclined to watch a hip-hop video, the police offered a ‘Game of Thrones’ meme featuring a character from the popular show, Jon Snow.
