Did CNN “plant” the questions Democratic candidates were asked at Monday’s town hall in Des Moines, Iowa?
That’s the question some are asking after one participant’s “telling” moment while directing a question at Hillary Clinton. But that town hall participant, Drake University student Brett Rosengren, wrote on Twitter that the question he asked was, in fact, his own and not one “planted” by CNN.
@philphelix it was my question, but I said it could be directed to any candidate. Hillary happened to be the one they chose

Rosengren addressed the Democratic candidate for president after being introduced by CNN anchor and town hall moderator Chris Cuomo.
“Secretary Sand – er, Clinton…sorry,” Rosengren said.
But it’s what he said next that is raising some eyebrows.
“I can see why they gave you this question,” Rosengren stated.

“Audience member to @HillaryClinton: “I can see why THEY gave YOU this question.” thought Qs weren’t given in advance. #PLANTED #DemTownHall,” one person tweeted.
Others responded in a similar fashion.
"I can see why *THEY* gave you this question" Wow, very telling! #DemTownHall
