Ben Carson Will ‘Likely’ Leave Iowa Early Tonight, but He Won’t Be Headed to New Hampshire

Following the Iowa caucuses, Ben Carson reportedly will not go to New Hampshire or South Carolina. He will go home.

According to CNN’S Chris Moody, Carson will head back to Florida for some “R&R” following a speech at his Iowa victory party. Moody reported that the speech will likely be before the caucus results are officially in so that he can catch an early flight to Florida.

“Ben Carson’s campaign tells me he plans to stay in the race beyond Iowa no matter what the results are tonight,” Moody tweeted.

Carson is still expected to travel to Washington, D.C. to attend the annual National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday.

UPDATE 8:30 P.M.: Carson’s spokesperson confirmed that he will leave Iowa early to avoid the winter storm and get “fresh clothes.”
