The morning after ABC News announced Carly Fiorina would not be included in Saturday night’s GOP debate, the candidate spoke with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” presenting her case for ABC to reconsider the decision and add her to the stage.
“I beat Christie, I beat Kasich, I tied Bush for delegates. And yet, I’m not on the stage and they are,” Fiorina said by phone.
According to Fiorina, her performance in the Iowa Caucuses had no bearing on the debate lineup, “ABC is using criteria pulled from January 1? Sorry, I thought votes counted,” said Fiorina.
Sounding a little frustrated by the exclusion, Fiorina added, “I have been saying all along in this election, the game is rigged, and now you see it, in plain day.”
Fiorina also received the support of previous GOP candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, and she thanked two current candidates who spoke on her behalf. “Of the guys on the stage, Ted Cruz did the right thing, Ben Carson did the right thing. They said, ‘Ya know, she should be on the stage,'” Fiorina said, adding, “The rest of them were silent. Maybe they’re afraid to debate me, too.”
