‘Now He’s Repeating Himself’: Watch What Happens When Rubio Repeatedly Demands Trump Lay Out His Plan on Health Care

Marco Rubio turned a familiar attack often used against him into a weapon against Donald Trump Thursday night, accusing the billionaire of failing to have a comprehensive plan on health care and instead only robotically repeating one line when asked about the subject.

The confrontation happened when Trump was asked for his plan on health care by CNN debate moderator Dana Bash. The real estate mogul replied that he would “get rid of the lines around the states” which block competition between health care companies.

“But, just to be specific here, what you’re saying is getting rid of the barriers between states, that is going to solve the problem?” Bash passed.

“That’s going to solve the problem,” Trump insisted.

Rubio was not sold and, after laying out his plan, told Trump it’s “not a game where you draw maps.”

“You don’t know what it means!” Trump fired back.

“What is your plan, Mr. Trump?” Rubio asked. “What is your plan on health care?”

“You don’t know,” Trump said. “The biggest problem—.”

“What’s your plan?” Rubio asked again.

“The biggest problem, I’ll have you know—,” Trump said before Rubio interjected.

“What’s your plan?” the Florida senator asked.

“You know, I watched him meltdown two weeks ago with Chris Christie. I got to tell you, the biggest problem he’s got is he really doesn’t know about the lines,” Trump said. “The biggest thing we’ve got, and the reason we’ve got no competition, is because we have lines around the states.”

Rubio repeated his question again, telling Trump that he “already mentioned” opening competition around state lines.

“What else is part of your plan?” Rubio asked.

“You don’t know much,” Trump insisted.

“So, your only thing is to get rid of the lines around the states. What else is part of your health care plan?” Rubio pressed.

“The lines around the states,” Trump said.

“That’s your only plan?” Rubio asked.

Trump doubled down, saying if the lines are eliminated “it brings in competition.”

“So, that’s the only part of the plan? Just the lines?” Rubio asked.

“The nice part of the plan — you’ll have many different plans. You’ll have competition, you’ll have so many different plans,” Trump said.

That’s when Rubio deployed his attack.

“Now he’s repeating himself,” the Florida senator said.

“No, no, no,” Trump denied. “I watched him repeat himself five times four weeks ago.”

Rubio fired back, “I just watched you repeat yourself five times five seconds ago.”

“I see him repeat himself every night, he says five things, everyone’s dumb, he’s gonna make America great again, we’re going to win, win, win, he’s winning in the polls — and the line around the states,” Rubio added.
