Chris Rock began his highly anticipated monologue at the 88th Academy Awards Ceremony on Sunday by mocking Hollywood’s “sorority” racism and claiming that black all actors want are the “same opportunities.”

“We want black actors to get the same opportunities as white actors,” Rock said. “That’s it.”

“Man, I counted at least 15 black people in that montage,” Rock joked, adding that decided not to cancel his appearance because the show would go on, regardless of his actions. “Last thing I need is to lose another job to Kevin Hart. I don’t need that.”

Rock proceeded to roast the Academy for failing to nominate minority actors for the second year in a row.

“It’s not fair that Will Smith was this good [in ‘Concussion’] and didn’t get nominated. It’s also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for ‘Wild Wild West,’” Rock said, noting that Smith and his wife, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith, had boycotted the Oscars this year. “What happened this year? Jada’s going to boycott the Oscars. Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited! It’s not an invitation I would turn down.”

“If you want black nominees every year, you just need to have black categories,” Rock continued. “You already do it with men and women, think about it. There’s no real reason to have a men and a women category in acting. It’s not track and field, you don’t have to separate them.”

“Not everything is racism. Not everything is sexism. If George Clooney shows up in lime green with a swan coming out of his a**, someone’s going to ask, ‘what are you wearing?’”

Rock also aimed a jab at the “sorority” racism among Hollywood’s writers and producers.

“Hollywood is sorority racism. It’s like ‘we like you, Rhonda, but you’re not a Kappa,’” he joked.

He later recalled what he once said to President Barack Obama while at an event filled with Hollywood writers: “You see all these writers and producers? They don’t hire black people. And they’re the nicest people on earth. White liberals!” Rock said.
