Famed astrophysicist and “Cosmos” host Neil deGrasse Tyson sent a tweet this week revealing who he believes Jesus would “probably” vote for in the 2016 presidential election.
Tyson, who has said in the past that he believes that faith and reason are irreconcilable, believes that Christ would likely choose Democratic contender Bernie Sanders, citing a number of issues that he said would be “non-starters” for Jesus in considering a candidate.
Who would Jesus vote for? To him walls, wealth, & torture are non-starters, so probably the Jewish New Yorker from Vermont.

“Who would Jesus vote for?” Tyson tweeted. “To him walls, wealth, & torture are non-starters, so probably the Jewish New Yorker from Vermont.”
The tweet, which left some wondering whether Tyson would formally endorse Sanders, was shared more than 32,000 times as of Friday morning.
Here are some of the other reactions from Twitter users:
@neiltyson "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." Doesn't sound very Democratic Socialist.
