There’s a two-word message that Breitbart Editor-At-Large Ben Shapiro believes Donald Trump should deliver to his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski: “You’re fired.”

Shapiro turned to Twitter Wednesday night to slam Lewandowski for roughing up Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields at a Florida press conference the previous night.

His tweets followed a report in The Daily Beast that revealed Fields had been left bruised after Lewandowski forcibly grabbed her by the arm and yanked her backward — a move that nearly sent her tumbling to the floor.

Shapiro’s call for Trump to fire Lewandowski seemed to represent a break in how Breitbart executives were handling the situation.

According to The Daily Beast, a Breitbart public relations official scolded Fields for the way she handled the incident, upset that she relayed what happened to her boyfriend who publicly tweeted about Lewandowski’s actions.

Moreover, The Daily Beast report said that neither Breitbart Executive Chairman Stephen Bannon nor Editor-In-Chief Alex Marlow had offered supportive words to Fields.

BuzzFeed reported last year that Breitbart staffers believe Trump gave money to the website for positive coverage — something he has enjoyed considerably from the conservative website.
