The lawyer for Pete Rose on Monday disputed that the baseball legend had endorsed Republican front-runner Donald Trump.
Trump tweeted an image of a signed baseball Sunday night to suggest that Rose had endorsed his candidacy.

But lawyer Ren Genco said his client never sent a baseball to Trump.
“Pete has made a point not to ‘endorse’ any particular presidential candidate,” Genco said in a statement to NBC News. “Though he respects everyone who works hard for our country — any outlet that misinterpreted a signed baseball for an endorsement was wrong.”
Genco added, “Pete did not send any candidate a baseball or a note of endorsement.”
A spokesperson for Trump was not immediately available for comment.
