ESPN’s SportsCenter’s Twitter account came under fire Sunday for sending out a tweet praising Fidel Castro for his love of sports.
The tweet, which has since been deleted, appeared to paint the Cuban dictator in a positive light.
“Savior and scourge, Fidel Castro was many things to many people,” the now-deleted tweet read, according to Mediaite. “One thing all can agree on: He loved his sports.”
Not surprisingly, ESPN’s tweet did not go over well with many Twitter users, who immediately expressed their displeasure.
So did many of the dissidents he had murdered, SportsCenter. https://t.co/pf24wgNVfx
