Things got a little heated during a CNN segment on radical Islam Wednesday after a guest told TheBlaze TV’s Buck Sexton that “white people like yourself” don’t understand Islamic culture.
After questioning whether Sexton speaks Arabic, political commentator Rula Jebreal told him he needs to “understand” the culture, language and what is “appealing” to radical Islamists who join the Islamic State.
That’s when Sexton, a former CIA analyst, gave her some insight into his resume.
“Respectfully, I served in Iraq and Afghanistan targeting people that were doing beheadings, that were building suicide vests. I mean, so I was doing that at a very specific level,” he said.
Jebreal and Sexton proceeded to talk over each other until the former eventually took a more racial approach.
“With all due respect, white people like yourself who doesn’t understand the language, doesn’t understand the culture and doesn’t even know the religion—” she said.
“I don’t know what that has to do with trying to prevent people from blowing up buses and trying to annihilate — that was my job, that’s what I’m speaking to on this issue,” Sexton interjected.

Sexton later responded to the segment in his own video:
