Fox News Spox Confirms Megyn Kelly Meeting With Trump at Trump Tower (UPDATED)

UPDATE 4:13 p.m. ET: A Fox News spokeswoman confirmed to TheBlaze on Wednesday that Kelly did, in fact, meet with Trump at Trump Tower on Wednesday morning. The statement reads as follows:

“FOX News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes has spoken to Donald Trump a few times over the past three months about appearing on a FOX Broadcasting special with Megyn Kelly airing on May 23. Kelly requested a meeting with Mr. Trump, which took place at Trump Tower this morning. The results of that meeting will be revealed on tonight’s Kelly File at 9PM/ET. Kelly has acknowledged in recent interviews that Trump is a fascinating person to cover and has electrified the Republican base.”

In what could be the strangest development yet in Donald Trump’s months-long feud with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, the cable TV host was reportedly spotted walking into Trump Tower “incognito” Wednesday.

Neither Fox News nor the Trump campaign would confirm the reported sighting, which was first tweeted out by MSNBC reporters Beth Fouhy, Ari Melber and Ayman Mohyeldin. Kelly was then escorted upstairs by a member of Trump’s team, according to their reports.

As CNN’s senior media correspondent Brian Stelter pointed out, the reported one-on-one meeting raises questions as to whether Kelly might have landed an interview with the Republican front-runner, who has frequently attacked her dating back to the Fox News Republican presidential primary debate in August.

Kelly was recently tapped to host a new, Barbara Walters-style primetime special on the Fox broadcast network to begin in May. The show is expected to feature interviews with high profile guests, possibly Trump himself.

In an interview as recent as last week, though, Kelly said she had not formally requested to meet with Trump, CNN reported.
