Pat Buchanan: I Was ‘Blacklisted’ From MSNBC…But Not ‘Beaten’

Longtime conservative author and commentator Pat Buchanan wrote in The American Conservative that his “days as a political analyst at MSNBC have come to an end” and that he’s been blacklisted from the network. MSNBC executives say the controversial content of Buchanan’s most recent book, Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025, was was prompted the decision.
Buchanan writes:
After 10 enjoyable years, I am departing, after an incessant clamor from the left that to permit me continued access to the microphones of MSNBC would be an outrage against decency, and dangerous.
The calls for my firing began almost immediately with the Oct. 18 publication of Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?? A group called Color of Change, whose mission statement says that it “exists to strengthen Black America’s political voice,” claimed that my book espouses a “white supremacist ideology.” Color of Change took particular umbrage at the title of Chapter 4, “The End of White America.”
Media Matters parroted the party line: He has blasphemed!
A Human Rights Campaign that bills itself as America’s leading voice for lesbians, bisexuals, gays, and transgendered people said that Buchanan’s “extremist ideas are incredibly harmful to millions of LBGT people around the world.” Their rage was triggered by a remark to NPR’s Diane Rehm—that I believe homosexual acts to be “unnatural and immoral.”
On Nov. 2, Abe Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League, who has sought to have me censored for 22 years, piled on. “Buchanan has shown himself, time and again, to be a racist and an anti-Semite,” said Foxman. Buchanan “bemoans the destruction of white Christian America” and says America’s shrinking Jewish population is due to the “collective decision of Jews themselves.”
Buchanan ceded that for the 10 years he was at MSNBC, the network has “taken heat for what I have written, and faithfully honored our contract.”
“Yet my four-months’ absence from MSNBC and now my departure represent an undeniable victory for the blacklisters.”
MSNBC president Phil Griffin told reporters that the ideas put forth in Buchanan’s latest book, “aren’t really appropriate for national dialogue, much less the dialogue on MSNBC.”
Buchanan added:
Without a hearing, they smear and stigmatize as racist, homophobic, or anti-Semitic any who contradict what George Orwell once called their “smelly little orthodoxies.” They then demand that the heretic recant, grovel, apologize, and pledge to go forth and sin no more.
Defy them, and they will go after the network where you work, the newspapers that carry your column, the conventions that invite you to speak. If all else fails, they go after the advertisers.

You ARE kidding, right? Pat too facist?
Have you even read his books? I’d guess that if you have, you either didn‘t understand what he was saying or you don’t agree that the US is being over-run with people who have NO idea of our country‘s founding principle’s.
A Facist believes, in effect, that a country should be of one ancestry, and that it should be run as a dictatorship.
Pat has not espoused that ideal. If you defend your point, then you do not understand what Buchanan has written. Pat says that America was founded on Christian principles by White Anglo-Saxon Protestants. Buchanan believes the continued immigration of too many, too quickly, who do not either understand or value the principles brought here by the Anglo-Saxons will lead to this country’s destruction.
Either you believe in the principles which the founders based this country on, or you do not . If you do, then it is impossible to disagree with Buchanan‘s accessment that the problem’s we face are the result of PC’ness, Communist infiltration, the UN agenda, and an increasing population which seeks to overturn the principles of our founding due to a total lack of comprehension of those founding principles.
Facts are facts, Luker, and sometimes they are hard to swallow.

No it’s not funny. Many Patriots just don’t see how it’s in America’s best interest to continue sacrificing more American blood and treasure for Israel and Neo-Cons.. Besides it certainly flies directly in the face of our Founding Fathers who warned us to avoid entangling alliances and wrote it in the Constitution that only a 2/3 majority in Congress may declare War.
For what it’s worth I’m all for diplomatic relationships and trade with all so I’m not an isolationist. Furthermore, I’d proudly stand with the likes of Patriotic men like Dr. Duke and Pat Buchanan than some contemptible phony Constitution hating Neo-Con fraud such as yourself and the dozen or so others of your ilk on the Blaze. You are a disgusting anti-American hating troll. Go back to the Huffington Post where you came from.
Hey Neo-Cons and Chosen people, what has those 4 Trillion US dollars that you’ve blown over the past decade got us?? What do we have to show for it but the loss of thousands of US lives, 100s of thousands of Middle Eastern civilians, and an ever increasing attack upon our Constitution at home?

Posted on February 16, 2012 at 11:08pmSorry folks, I think you’re in need of a little lesson, not in “political correctness” or “freedom of speech.” But in good old red white and blue Capitalism. Buchanan was hired by MSNBC because he was controversial and expressed very right wing opinions, including what many view as racist opinions. MSNBC hoped he’d attract viewers, which would increase their viewership, which would increase the amount they could charge for advertisement, which would increase their profits.
That’s capitalism. They are trying to make a profit. But when a personality like Buchanan becomes so offensive that the company loses viewership, which reduces the amount of money they make from advertisement, which reduces their profits, they get rid of the personality. It’s about profit. This is capitalism friends. If you don’t like it move to North Korea. Even FOX is a profit driven company, despite their hard right stance. FOX may be conservative, but they aren’t stupid.

MSNBC will not have one viewer more because Pat is gone!
They only have “X’ amount of viewers, and those are the minority on the far left which seek to overturn Capitalism and install a Socialist state. They turn on MSNBC because they don’t want to hear other viewpoints. Pat was the only voice which offered an opposing view to the lefts’ ideology so, eventually, he would have to go.
MSNBC has a smaller viewership because its the minority of devoted Socialists like yourself who watch. The rest of the DEM base is too stupid watching football, basketball, or reality TV, yet will turn up (or E Holders’ DOJ will fill out an absentee ballot for them) at the polls to vote ‘D’.
Fox has been at the top because they have promoted more traditional American values and have had a less biased viewpoint. Fox has by far represented the majority viewpoint in America. People like yourself will say Fox is too far right. The reality is that Fox gives the story in an unbiased way, and that simply does not fit the agenda of Socialists.
Separate viewpoints and equal results just do not work well together.

Report Post »I have read for many calls for him to go to Fox and that Fox is hard right is again listed in the above post. I propose you take a look at the NEW FoxNews. When did Piers Morgan really start being an entitiy in the US…about the time the hacking scandal was breaking out in the UK. Are you paying attention to the Media Matters intel gathering and coordinated attacks on FoxNews? FoxNews cannot be trusted, as evidenced with Glenn, new lib pollsters and MSM liberal hires since the scandal broke.
What does all this mean – conservatives are being forced to the internet as even Murdoch is being taken out by the coordinated attacks. Piers is being rewarded heavily for his hand in providing the clues needed to take out Murdoch. Morgan is a despicable pos just like the rest of the lib Murdoch clan and to some extent it is great to see them suffer at the hands of their own lib establishment.
Attention and profit is what made FoxNews, but the attention is leaving now that more are waking up to the lib/arab (yes – ever truly see any great dialogue on FNC about radical Islam?) owned news outlet. Pat will eventually be hounded to the internet and who owns the kill switch for it???

JZS, I do agree with you BSNBC is market driven to make a profit and that should be part of their goal. But, BONNIEBLUEFLAG has it right. BSNBC may very well make the same claims as you, but Buchanan was probably always expected to eventually be a sacrifice to the artificial gods of the left.
Report Post »As for your claims that Fox is far right, I suspect you just never watch it, or have been deluded by the decades of almost all other media outlets being so far left that it is simply stunning when one station does not follow the crowd in expected lock step. Fox had become so successful that CNN even mimicked some of Fox’s fair and balanced ideas during the Bush administration. They have changed back to their old ways somewhat, not quite the Communist News Network that they were during the Clinton admin.

I agree with your amusement that people are so detached about their country being destroyed that they could possibly still watch the crap you mentioned. A good friend of mine (who is ‘educated’) watches “Jersey Shores” with the best friend of his youngest son, who stops by every week at my friends home.
My wife and I turned JS on last night just to see what the hell it was about. After enduring about 2 minutes of that crap, my wife and I just looked at each other, turned ther TV off, and went to bed.
