5 ‘Devastating Secrets’ the Obama Admin Has Allegedly Fought to Keep From the American Public

Has the Obama administration desperately tried to hide “devastating secrets” from the American people? This is a question that JudicialWatch President Tom Fitton affirmatively answers in his new book, “The Corruption Chronicles.” In an exclusive interview with TheBlaze, he recently outlined some of the most pervasive details and issues that administration officials have allegedly attempted to hide from the public.

Fitton said that he was motivated to put the book together after looking over all of the materials that JudicialWatch, a non-profit devoted to education and transparency, had compiled over the years.

“To place Obama in context, you have to go back through the Bush and Clinton administrations,” he explained. “The book traces the arc of corruption in the Clinton administration through the Bush presidency, where you had this explosion of government secrecy…”

While the book spans the three administrations, Fitton contends that his organization had enough material on the Obama years, alone, to provide more than one volume on corruption. But throughout the interview, he also made it a point to highlight the fact that “corruption and big government and big secrecy…didn’t begin with Obama and [they] won’t end with Obama.”

From the bailouts — which started under President George W. Bush — to the Fast and Furious scandal, Fitton’s book covers it all, while highlighting the often-corrupt ways in which Washington operates. It’s a book that he believes every American should read. Even Democrats and liberals, who may typically find themselves turned-off by JudicialWatch’s conservative views, will likely be surprised to find that the book also takes aim at Bush’s policies.

“You can’t rely on Congress and the media and the typical branches of government to provide oversight,” Fitton said. “You have to take it into your own hands. JudicialWatch is showing that.”

Considering that this is an election year — and considering that Obama is a key figure analyzed in the book — TheBlaze asked the author to highlight the five most pervasive secrets that the president’s administration has tried to conceal. Here they are:

1) Fast and Furious:  A press release for the book promises that readers will, “See the truth behind the scandal code-named Fast and Furious, a government program that supplied thousands of firearms to murderous criminals in Mexico — and for which Attorney General Eric Holder was convicted of contempt of Congress (and now possible disbarment!).”

TheBlaze has covered this scandal in detail, with our most recent story detailing a high-ranking Mexican drug cartel operative’s claim that Fast and Furious isn’t what many people think it is. While many on the left deem the scandal surrounding the operation politically-motivated, there’s no doubt that the administration — particularly Holder — has gone to great lengths to ensure that some documentation remains out of reach.

2) White House Czars: When Obama first entered office, his use of so-called “czars” came under fire. Fitton claims that their activities are among the most protected elements within the administration. The press release for the book encourages readers: “Be appalled by the Constitution-defying czars – appointed by the president or his administration, the current count is 45.”

In 2011, JudicialWatch completed a report about these public officials. The executive summary explains some of the issues with these individuals, who were appointed by Obama and his staffers:

This Judicial Watch Special Report examines President Obama’s unprecedented appointment and use of unconfirmed and unaccountable policy advisors or “czars” throughout his administration. Presidents typically have advisors with whom they can discuss and devise policy initiatives. In recent years, however, presidential advisors have taken on powerful new roles in the government without undergoing the process of Senate confirmation.

Unaccountable czars, many working in the White House, are being given unprecedented authority over major aspects of government policy. As is discussed herein, President Obama has appointed a number of controversial persons to czar posts, a few of whom have subsequently resigned. Others remain, despite controversy.

Their activities and their exact roles, Fitton says, are secretive in nature.

3) Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac: The third secret involves government-sponsored mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Fitton told TheBlaze that “never before has so much money been spent with so little oversight.” In February, TheBlaze reported that millions in taxpayer funds were used to defend three executives associated with the company. This, of course, is only one of the many stories surrounding Fannie and Freddie.

Considering that both institutions were essentially taken over by the U.S. government in 2008, JudicialWatch maintains that documents pertaining to political donations, for instance, are subject to FOIA requests. But the administration has claimed that there is no need for either Freddie or Fannie to release these documents.

4) Details Surrounding the Bin Laden Raid: Fitton claims that the Obama administration has maintained secrecy over details surrounding the raid that killed terrorist Osama bin Laden. Late last month, UPI reported that JudicialWatch had filed a FOIA lawsuit against the U.S. Navy for information about the raid. The organization is seeking details about ”any funeral ceremony, rite or ritual” that was performed before bin Laden’s burial at sea.

The group is also seeking any and all communications and records surrounding the terrorist’s funeral. Here’s what Fitton told UPI in relation to the case:

President Barack Obama ”is playing politics with bin Laden’s death and ignoring the rule of law — especially the transparency laws that his appointees violate with impunity…I suspect the Obama administration is embarrassed by the burial ceremony, which explains our having to go to court to get basic information about this important piece of history.”

5) Justice Elena Kagan’s Role in Crafting ObamaCare: Despite the fact that the Supreme Court has made its voice heard on Obamacare, many still have questions about Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan‘s early role in discussing the legislation’s path to the high court. Politico explains the debate surrounding Kagan, particularly when it comes to her potential role in defending health care:

Conservative groups like Judicial Watch and the Media Research Council, along with some Republican lawmakers, pressed Kagan to recuse herself. They noted her exchanges of emails about the law with colleagues, and they suspected she was involved in administration discussions about legal strategy to respond to the case. Administration officials insisted she avoided all substantive discussions about the Justice Department’s efforts to plan a defense of the law.

The basic concern on the part of those calling for Kagan’s recusal seemed to be that she would effectively rubber-stamp the Obama health care law.

“I think the reason she was appointed was to provide votes like this on ‘Obamacare,’” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said Tuesday.

In the end, some have defended Kagan, claiming that she actually broke with Democrats over her agreement with Chief Justice John Roberts that the Medicaid expansion is unconstitutional. Still, she supported the majority of the controversial law.

In November 2011, JudicialWatch obtained documents from Kagan’s time as U.S. solicitor general that the group claims raised questions about her involvement in Department of Justice discussions about Obamacare. The group filed a FOIA lawsuit in an attempt to secure documents from Kagan’s pre-Supreme Court post to assess whether there was a conflict of interest in her involvement in the high court’s review of the individual mandate.

These are just some of the secrets that were purportedly concealed by the Obama administration. You can read about the rest in Fitton’s “The Corruption Chronicles.”

In the end, if our brave non-progressive patriots Mitt and Paul lose, well then we get what we deserve. This would prove without a doubt that the majority of the people would rather fall into a deep socialist sleep where Big Brother Government has complete and total control of our lives, and our children will be like the multitudes in China, being simply just another number. How sad this “new life” will be, as our transformation of America becomes complete.

It’s not too late. We need a New Direction! We need Mitt/Romney to win!

It “ain’t gonna” happen. The Obammy’s are going to lose by a landslide, and if they continue in their implosion, and I pray to God they do, it’s quite possible Obammy will lose 48 States (MA has historically proven to be a few points shy of an average IQ, and California is pushing HARD to bypass MA).

You are living in LaLa land if you think Romney is a non-progressive. He is a repeat of both Bushes hopes of a one-world order, bigger bovernment, and more restrictive freedoms on our citizens. He’s a big time Rhino progressive. He will probably pull the economy out of the doldrums temporarily while stealthily implementing bigger government with more controls over our lives. You will just be trading in an in-your-face neo-Marxist for a behind-your-back liberal progressive. Our only real hope is a tea party take over of both chambers of Congress.

I’m glad my comments brought on a conversation. The question remains, would you rather have four more years of this utter garbage or make the change to Romney/Ryan? Who is the lesser of two evils? These are our options. If you pick a third party on the ballot form then we will surely have Hussein for another four. By chosing Ryan, Romney is proving he wants to work on our economy. He didn’t go with a placcid VP. I doubt that he‘s going to have the socialist progressive Czars like Hussein’s. Did I have a warm fuzzy feeling when Romney was chosen to run? No. But, I am going to remain fixed on getting things turned around – and yes, we do need to also focus on getting the RHINOS out of the House and the Senate. I’m done whining. It’s time to move on.

Sorry guys, don’t get me wrong, I like Ryan, but with Paul Ryan as VP pick, Romney just insured his loss in the election. Here’s why. Romney only had a 50/50 shot before the VP pick, he needed to pick up either more hispanic votes or more black votes. Now since the hispanics, unlike the blacks to vote in blocks for one political party, not picking Rubio was not a that big deal, though it would have given him a 55% shot at winning. He should have chosen Allen West for a couple of reasons. 1) West would have given him 10-20% more of the black vote, thus taking away that much of the black vote from Obama. 2) Picking West would have let Romney use a leftist play and say we can make history and elect the first black vice president. 3) The race card would not have worked so well with a black VP pick, and we all know that since Romney and Ryan are going to be considered clean cut whites, that the race card game from the left is going to go into overdrive. The US short of a revolution is dead as we know it.

The US Catholic church has lost its way. Just like certain black churches, where it is more about political parties and power than what the Bible actually says. WHen Christ says help the poor, he does not mean support the lazy or support the destruction of the family. Just can’t see Christ saying “yeah give that lady a welfare check and some food stamps so that she can afford to leave her husband or worse yet never have a husband”. Yes lets create generations of fatherless children. In Proverbs it says “If a man won’t work, he shouldn’t eat”. There is a difference between “won’t“ and ”can’t”. But you just keep on fighting to keep your welfare checks Encinom!

encinom, two main groups come here. Informed Americans who know and care, and liberal trolls like you. Who are you trying to convince? Trolls? You waste your time with us. Obama gutted over 700 billion from Medicare. Ryan’s plan affects no one over 55, and allows those on it to stay if they wish to. Bush tried to stop the housing nightmare begun by Clinton and Dems blocked Him, thereby allowing the collapse. Medicare as run currently is bankrupting the nation. Ryan’s plan would have saved it and us.

Do you support Obamas and the Democrats over 700 billion dollar cuts in Medicare? Do you support Obamas destruction of private insurance companies and His endless taking over of private enterprise? Did you know the economy started tanking when the Democrats took over in 2006 and the collapse has accelerated exponentially under Obama? Are you coming here with misinformation and lies in hopes of brainwashing us or are you merely one of the brainwashed liberal zombies who thinks they know yet do not?

In short are you a wickedly corrupt deceiver or are you merely a mentally deficient fool who is immersed in lies and propaganda?

We watched stock footage on-line from the 2008 election and something caught our eyes; a local news story in Houston was panning around the campaign headquarters there and on the wall was Obama’s “Hope” painting and what was right next to it………a poster of the communist murderer Che Guevara – This is at the democratic campaign office! Then we looked further into it and found pictures of Che at two other Obama campaign offices. That’s only three, image how many more are out there that aren’t on film! My jaw dropped seeing this. Imagine if Romney’s campaign had Charles Manson posters on the wall what the media would do. Instead, the idiots that filmed the news story in Houston just did a normal interview and completely ingnored the poster of Che. Anyway, we did screen grabs on all of those and have no idea who to send them to but people need to be in the know. One more interesting fact we discovered is that Obama is the only President to not swear an oath to the constitution/country on the Bible. In 2009, during his inauguration Justice Roberts and Obama messed up the oath. The next day Roberts had to “re-swear” in the President because the first oath was incorrect. Guess what? Obama said “the Bible wasn’t important” and swore with just his hand in the air (research it yourself on-line and see the pictures for yourself). So, technically, he did not swear to uphold the constitution but basically raised his hand and said “I swear by Me.”

There is not 1 ounce of difference in Romney versus Obama. As a life long Republican I am ashamed of those that call themselves the same in not demanding the GOP run a non liberal candidate for the White House. Paul Ryan is as conservative as Pelosi no matter what spin Hannity or Beck puts on it, simply look at his record and stop listening to the excuses the MSM are making for Romney and Ryan, who might not be as progressive, but are definitely as liberal as Obama himself. The Tea Party has lost all credibility as our nation cannot withstand another 4 years of the lesser of two evils, before the 2016 elections America will not be recognizable no matter if Romney wins or not. Perhaps then the blind partisans will awake to reality, but I seriously doubt it.

Fannie and Freddie helped millions and millions of poor people get houses.. A minimum wage earner deserves a 500,000.00 home just like anybody else. And don’t give me that years of college, putting everything on the line, working 70 + hours a week to build your business/career or whatever crap. That worn out record needs to go to the curb!!! Poor people have wants just like you rich people, who by the way only got that way on the backs of those poor people.

Sorry to disappoint you but honestly, if you don’t have the money to pay for whatever it is that you think you need or want then “NO” you can’t have it. I’m so sick and tired of those saying “we’re entitled”. NO, no one is entitled unless you work hard and save for it and pay for it yourself. Now as far as the rich getting rich off the backs of the poor, well that‘s your opinion but I can tell you this if it weren’t for the rich offering the rest of us employment then we wouldn’t eat. Instead of complaining about what you don’t have try appreciating what you DO have. You’ll be a much happier person. Btw, my husband and I didn’t graduate from college and we saved and bought a lovely home.

Right on brother! I find it appalling that the rich live so much better than the poor. No rich man would be rich if it were not for the poor working for him. The poor have become slaves but they deserve so much more.
      1. The poor that work for the rich should be able to go on vacation with their rich bosses when they do at the bosses expense enjoying all the same luxuries.
      2. When the rich build their mansions, then he should be required to build the same mansions for all of his poor workers around his mansion. (He could save money by making his private swimming pool public)
      3. If the boss has membership at a resort, he should pay for his poor workers membership also.
      4. Hot cars should be purchased for each of his poor workers also if the rich boss enjoys them.
      5. Drugs, if the boss does drugs he should buy drugs for all of his poor workers. It is only fair.
      6. Company stocks: This is how the wealthy really make their money. The poor workers should get the same stock option deals as their bosses. They work harder anyway.
      7. Hot chicks. If the rich get to hook up with hot chicks, then their poor workers should get the same.
8.Private Jets. Why should only the rich get to fly in private jets. The poor get patted down and abused in the airports when their rich bosses get in their jets with no pat downs at all. (Lets not forget about the carry on baggage, the poor are restricted the rich are not.)

Can see you bought all of the Big Lies that the divisive Democrats have been spewing to divide this country. No. The secret of America is that everyone has the freedom and opportunity to be economically successful but no one is guaranteed that they will. Most people who become wealthy work WITH others to become successful . And the pull others up with them. Look at Oprah . Classic example. The old truth that ” what goes around, comes around” ensures that fact. The one group I see taking advantage of others is the Democrat Party: stirring up unrest; pitting Americans against Americans; and keeping the “poor” poor due to their divisive, dysfunctional politics and their angry rhetoric. All for the votes the Democrats can buy with this damaging behavior. Disgusting criminals.

Certainly you cannot be serious, and are just trying to get a rise out of us but I’ll take the bait. I have worked for over 30 years and started when I was 13 so don’t give me that work hard crap. I do not live in a $500,000 house and I may never live in one. Here the average house is @200,000 and that is more than I need. I live in a 4 bedroom house not including rooms in the basement and There are 2 of us. The kids have moved on and are building their own dream. We live frugally and have a substantial amount of money put away in various places because we want to have choices on the next chapter in our lives. We have been generous with our money having given 10% of everything to our church and then proceeding to give to other places. With all of this Nobody owes us anything.
If you make poor choices and work for minimum wage then you live with consequences of your decisions. There is nothing holding you back from bettering yourself through education or skill building. You owe that to yourself nobody owes you anything. Remember this when you turn on your TV and veg out for hours or see your kids listening to their Ipods for 10 hours a day, or sitting in school texting their friends during class. Please take the word “Patriot” out of your user name. People like you use the word “Patriot” when it is CONVENIENT and when you want everyone else to think you are concerned about our country. You mis-use it when you use it just like every other liberal. Remember Hillary’s screeching rebuke about liberals use of the term? Per the dictionary, a patriot is one who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests.

Notice that Webster’s definition says nothing about entitlements. And it does not mean that you are a patriot just because you have lived in the USA all of your life. Nor does it mean that everyone who “wants” (to use your own term) everything everyone else has is a patriot, which is your unspoken premise.

No. A patriot is one who labors quietly and are paid up on our taxes. We willingly give to charity to help our fellow man. And when we see something we want, we work harder and save until we can afford whatever it is. If we cannot afford something out of our budgets, and if we cannot save enough to obtain it, we do not get it. But most of all, we do not expect the government to simply give it to us.

And that, Marengo Ohio Fantasizer, is what everyone who misused Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac has done. Just because some people jet around in private aircraft, doesn’t mean that I should be able to travel that way as well. I can’t afford it, because I don’t EARN enough, but I don’t expect the government to give me one.

Nobody deserves nothing until he really deserves it by SERVING and working. Poor people do not deserve wide-screen TVs and high-speed Internet until they actually work hard and become rich, then they deserve it.

My 4 children worked hard in high school, they got scholarships, and 3 of them already work after college making $80K or something.

I didn’t sit on my couch whining “My children deserve better education”, I made them learn hard, and they worked after school as waiters or whatever to make money for college.

That’s what I call “they deserved it”.

Society can help by giving opportunities (scholarships loans), but the society can not MAKE everybody a success, you have to do it yourself.

Btw, when my wife and me came to America in 1994 with 4 children ages from 5 to 10, we had $100 cash in the pocket, and nothing else. We couldn’t speak English at all.

At first my wife was baby sitting and doing odd jobs, and I found some entry-level job pretty soon.

Today I make $200K and work for Wall street. My (ex)wife is living in our 5-bedroom house in Pennsylvania, and I bought a 3-story condo in New York for myself and my current wife.

The definition of “Rich” will be forever changing, don’t you understand? Some day, the one that earns $20,000/year will be considered “rich” when the other man makes $5,000. I can’t believe your statements here. Fannie and Freddie are going to be the ruin of this country, and I hope someday it is revealed how totally corrupt this government tied “funding” institution is. Do you have any grasp of the idea that work begets compensation, and that one has to live within their means? What you spew here is what got us into the mess in the first place – when the government pushed banks into lending money to people who could not/would not pay back the big loans. This is what is currently happening with our country’s debt. The government is not living within their means. Personally, our household found a fixer-upper 15 years ago at $49,000 and with a little “sweat equity” is now valued three times that amount. We never ask for a handout, we work, and we stock up and save. With the state of this economy, food and fuel prices, maybe you should start thinking about the same.

I am shocked that this country still believes this man not to mention Harry Reid, Pelosi and _______, you fill in the blank. I will even throw John Beohner in there. What a wet blanket that guy is.

It is refreshing to see Ryan on the ticket.

There won’t be any cleaning up in the WH after Romney is elected. It will be business as usual, empty promises and bull crap, but not as damaging as obama. Washington politicians knew about obama’s past, and his intentions to destroy our Constitution, but most never spoke out against him. Hillary did mention his connection to Bill Ayers during the election. Bush said nothing. The information was out there for all to see and to connect the dots.
VP Ryan appears to be more gutsy than even Boehner, but otherwise, same old politics. His budget….who will be hurt the worse??? Will he include cuts to Congress benefits…..????

The Fannie and Freddie deal needs to be exposed. The Democrats use of the Discrimination Card and community groups to pass the Affordable Housing Act and the pressure on banks ( remember the ACORN people bussed in to bankers’ neighborhoods ?) to give loans to “ poor minorities” which eventually blew up our economy needs to be put under a microscope. The banks’ “clever” schemes to pass on the bad loans also needs investigation but the fact that Democrats are still BLAMING Banks while the economic shenanigans of the Democrats go under the radar is a disaster. This same “Affordable ” smokescreen is behind the “Affordable HealthCare Act.” It is NOT affordable. It is another economic time bomb sure to cause as much of a disaster as the housing one did. EXPOSE these Far Left ” anti-capitalists” for their secret attempts to bring down the American economic system with insane, dysfunctional “acts.”

Definitely not “secrets,” and definitely need to be addressed. But patriots with a spine will need to do so!!!

The media, our Congress and even our “sleeping neighbors” don’t understand the significance of any of this. . . they just worry about themselves.

Let’s change the attitude in the WH, get rid of some of the RHINOs in Congress, and get responsible Conservatives into the Senate, and get this country back to being the United States of America! The libs, progressives, socialists and communists have tried several times in the last one-hundred years to take our Country and our LIVES in a very different direction. Come-on fellow citizens, lets get back to where we were started and continue on the tract of Freedom and Liberty!

WOW, open note to Glenn and Blaze staff; I know that ads and pop-ups help offset costs, BUT COME ON, lighten up.
I had to spend about twenty minutes running speed tests and checking other sites to make sure it wasn’t my computer (which by the way is very, very fast on all OTHER SITES) that was so slow.
By the time everything loads on The Blaze site, you’ve lost interest in the subject matter.

I have to agree with Choctaw, I usually surf the Internet with my IPad and this is the only site that is unbearably slow. It’s not popups that are the problem, something is seriously slowing down every aspect of the load. I have 100 Mbps service from Charter cable and all the sites I visit load instantly. The Blaze on the other hand is so slow and bogs down so completely, that it is almost not worth the effort. It took me about 8 minutes to type this short post and the text appeared about 20 seconds after typing it. I post on many forums and this is the only one that does this.

      um…Choctaw…
you don’t need to switch browser or computer… just turn on the built in pop-up blocker in IE… DUH!! Stop with the whining…come on…..
yeah the flash ads on the sidebar are annoying…and there are too many tracking cookies..but if your computer and internet are so “very, very fast” everywhere else…it wouldn’t slow down that much due to the couple hundred k worth of ad banners on the sidebar….gimme a break….
you obviously don’t know what a fast connection is like….if you think the Blaze loads slow….i can turn off all my ad and pop-up blockers and the site will still load in under 20 seconds..pictures, ads, and all…

Where to begin so much corruption to digest and it‘s like the author states it isn’t just Obama,he includes Bush and Clinton as well. I believe it goes back further maybe a century when progressives began their assault on the constitution and our form of government.

Men in positions of power almost always become corrupt, crony capitalism which we’ve had for so long is destroying our country and needs to be ended and return to free market capitalism.
Our government is too big and way beyond what our founders intended, they would be appalled at the idea of ‘lifetime politicians’ and the creation of the welfare state. We need to reduce governments power and control over our lives if we’re to have any hope of restoring our republic.

I prefer the term “career politician,” but I see you have chosen Clinton’s foolproof Is-Is Model, to determine the meaning of the word “lifetime.” Why am I not surprised?

Now, if I recall correctly, RP has spent between 26-28 yrs. preaching the gospel of restoration in D.C. Wow, you gotta admit that TWENTY-SIX YEARS of being “despised and rejected by men” is quite the messianic cross. I would characterize it as a “lifetime,” but what the heck. Let’s draw the line at 30+. It’s an appealing number, and exonerates Perfect Paul of any wrongdoing.

Can anyone image, if he is re-elected (Heaven Forbid), of seeing him on inauguration day, standing there with his hand on the Bible and reciting, once again, the oath of the Presidency? I would find it gravely insulting to hear him say, “…will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States” when he has done just the opposite for these past four years. That is why he should be impeached AND convicted; for violating his Constitutional oath. God help us all if he is re-elected.
