64-Year Old Woman Arrested After Allegedly Trying to Rob the Same Bank THREE Times

Datha Nation is no stranger to the Wells Fargo in Longmont, Colorado, having now seemingly tried to rob it THREE times.
Police say that on June 9, 2010, “she [had] a note that indicated that she wanted money and…would infect the teller with AIDS if they didn’t cooperate,” according to Cmdr. Jeff Satur of the local police department.
Having gotten away with an undisclosed amount of money the first time, she seemingly tried it again this past March, but left before police arrived. On Monday, Nation allegedly made a third attempt at it.
Recognized immediately as the old lady who tried to give them AIDS, bank employees say they called the police as soon as they saw her.
When the police arrived, they found her car parked outside…with a note saying she was robbing the bank, instructing tellers not to use a dye pack in the money they handed over.
Nation was arrested without incident.
The elderly woman’s neighbors describe her as “a very nice person,” one saying they even had her over for dinner. However, they also explained that Nation has had some trouble finding work, and that might have motivated the string of bank robberies.
Nation has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery, and one count of aggravated robbery.

Report Post »But social security was never meant to be your only income. It was supposed to be a supplement. Seniors should have been planning for their retirement long before reaching retirement age. That’s why they send you those letters years ahead of time telling you what you will be getting monthly when you retire.
There were and are many ways to put money away ahead of time.

(The internet says that a couple needs $40/year to live on.) A large portion of my disablilty check goes to pay for insulin. With bills we can’t get caught up. I had to pay for my insulin with my Walmart credit card this month. EPIC is useless, doesn’t pay for anything.

The money is being used to take care of your parents but when you get old we will take care of you.” Right, every cent of my insulin comes out of my pocket and my wife has no medical coverage. Every pregnant teenage girl can get Medicaid, food stamps and money, however.

Try living off less then 1500.00 a month and make house payment/rent, gas/electricity, utility bills, phone if lucky, food for a month, and I won‘t mention medicene’s/medical bills they have as well. Not saying it gives the lady the right to rob a bank, but then again, she may get fed better in jail.

Report Post »My wife and I were. After 5 years she finally got her disability. Because she gets $800/month it would cost her $900/month to keep her Medicaid. A lot amount of my check is needed for my insulin and she has no coverage at all now. The system won’t let you get a head.

Some do without medicine that is much needed for survival. I say take some forclosed apartment buildings, and turn them into apartments for the elderly. Create jobs as day care helpers to assure our seniors are taken care of. Job creation, helping pur elderly is a win win situation!!!!!

To me she looks like a despreate person, trying to hold on to what little they have left.
That doesn’t mean what she did was right….It is the responsibility of us Christians, to help and or pray for them that down….Not to kick them.
Trust me on this, she is not having a good time in the jail…No one does. Almost everyone that gets locked up is scared out of their mind, and the correction officers are cruel to everyone.
The justice system is not going to let her go, it’s easy of a criminal conviction for some prosecutor…..
