80-Year-Old Rupert Murdoch Joins the Twittersphere – Backs Santorum?

LONDON (The Blaze/AP) — Yes, it really is Rupert Murdoch — and not an impostor — on Twitter.

A man using the media mogul‘s name started tweeting over the New Year’s holiday, and a spokeswoman at his News International company confirmed Monday the account – @rupertmurdoch – is genuine.

The embattled chief of the sprawling News Corp. media conglomerate says on Twitter that his resolutions for 2012 are to “try to maintain humility” and to diet.

The 80-year-old added that he wants to stay curious. He also sounds bored with his holiday: “Back to work tomorrow,” he says. “Enough idling!”

The Sydney Morning Herald (via Business Insider) reports that Murdock recently used the microblogging site to criticize the British for perhaps having too many holidays:

”Maybe Brits have too many holidays for broke country!’

This tweet was deleted shortly after. Here are a few of Murdoch’s other recent tweets:

In just three days, Murdoch already has more than 64,000 followers.

Murdoch may face questioning later this year from the Leveson Inquiry, which is investigating criminal wrongdoing at Murdoch’s British newspapers, including the now-closed News of the World tabloid.

Updated

NY Times:

The media mogul Rupert Murdoch signaled his support for Rick Santorum on Monday evening, calling him the “only candidate with genuine big vision” for the United States.

His comments were significant not only because Mr. Murdoch controls Fox News Channel and The Wall Street Journal, but also because they were made on Twitter, a Web site that allowed for his support to be forwarded far and wide on the eve of the Iowa caucuses. Mr. Santorum was a paid analyst for Fox News before he announced his bid for the presidency last year.

Mr. Murdoch seemed to stop short of an outright endorsement. “Can’t resist this tweet,” he wrote, “but all Iowans think about Rick Santorum.” It was unclear if he was saying that all Iowa voters are thinking about Mr. Santorum, or should be thinking about him.

Ron Paul and George Soros Connection
    http://theulstermanreport.com/2012/01/03/breaking-the-george-soros-ron-paul-connection/

Ron Paul joined forces with Barney Frank to slash military preparedness, but he ended up putting the experts of a foreign billionaire with global ambitions in charge of the project. He did THAT while he was a congressman?? WHAT would he DO if he becomes President???

Ron Paul Endorsed By George Soros “Blue Republican” Organization

      http://theulstermanreport.com/2012/01/03/ron-paul-endorsed-by-progressive-blue-republican-organization/

When somebody is integral to the Progressive Movement in America as Ralph Nader… embraces the Ron Paul Campaign, Conservatives would do WELL to pause.

It seems interesting that an organization that appears quite hopeful to see Obama re-elected in 2012, and is CLEARLY linked to Progressive Anti-American globalist George Soros is simultaneously calling for Democrats to register as Republicans and support Ron Paul in the Republican primaries.. DOES IT NOT???

I too watched every episode of Glenn Beck, but now fox news channel’s agenda is flagrant they keep pushing Romney and the new flavor of the week on us like the chattel in fief. I am done with the One party Goldenstream media I am not voting for the lesser of two evils ever again. You can spit in my face and laugh at me putting all of my effort and contributions to someone deemed unelectable by the GOP establishment and the media on both sides of the aisle.

It figures he would endorse a candidate that stands no chance of winning the election and I also wonder if he is the one behind pushing Trump to run for 3rd party. Murdoch would love to see Obama win 4 more years, to ensure high ratings. By the way,“The Five” stinks to high heaven!

After what happened in Great Britain, the man caved. Funny how he made a comment today about how The Five was so much better then Beck’s show. How many drinks did he kick back when typing this? I watched Beck’s show daily on Fox and I have only watched The Five about 5 times. Rarely do I watch Fox these days. They have an agenda as well and it doesn’t include us anymore. Talk radio and the internet is where I find the news. That old fart and many on Fox can go pound sand. We don’t trust them anymore..

I watched Glenn Beck regularly on Fox and have watched The Five alot but really don’t like it. It is no where as good as Glenn was….not even close. Some of the five get on my nerves….Bob Beckel interupting all the time, Kimberly is too flirty with the dancing and kicking her leg. Dana, Andrea and Erik are all okay. Greg tries so hard to be funny and it lies flat most of the time. It is worse than The View! It is a bunch of yip yap.
