9/11 Anniversary: Scenes From the Day

Images are flooding in from the September 11 memorial services in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, Pa. The Blaze will update this post throughout the day, adding photographs as they come in.

@TOASTABUSER: What is today about then? We have a homosexual, murdering, drug abusing, non-US citizen as President, the Christian Clergy is denied access to a MEMORIAL SERVICE for crying out loud, and ISLAM is trying to destroy the Western Nations especially the USA! So what should we be doing today, huh, TOASTABUSER? Oh, yeah, we should be “coming together”, and “showing unity”, and “remembering”, and doing a host of any other empty platitudes that keep us from DEMANDING CHANGE!

Some people do not understand that we are not united on Sept 12th 2001. Just because the news and TV shows today keep saying we will never forget the reality is we did forget. If we had not forgotten the attack we would not call it a tragedy, it was a cowardly attack. The word tragedy is used so we do not say the true word “attack”. The forgetting started when we took the images of the planes crashing into the buildings off the air. If we had not forgotten we would not have elected a questionable Muslim to destroy our currency and take away our freedoms. What people need to remember is that the left was never united with America. They saw it as opportunity to hurt our country using their greatest invention Political Correctness. ToastAbuser you need to wake up. America sat quietly as the first responders and clergy were told not to be at the 10 year memorial service. If you would have been told the week after the attack that the clergy and first responders would not be allowed at the 10 year memorial service you would have assumed the Muslim extremists won.

This is still so raw and heartbreaking to me. I just saw a Budweiser commercial on the football game break, where the Clydesdale horse team march over the bridge and into a big field with the statue of Liberty showing in the background and showing the spot where the twin towers once stood. All of the beautiful horses bowed down… and the verse below showed “Never Forget” it made me break out in tears like a small child.

God Bless this Country, we need you Lord now more than we ever have. May all those who were effected by this horrific act of terrorism know that we are thinking of you, and you are not alone.

God bless the families of the victims. God bless this country. And God bless the hearts that are filled with hatred and anger, and bring them peace.

Fox.com also has a live and replay video or videos of the memorial event. There is an area where one can click to replay the whole event with the fountains in the background. It is really heart rendering.
The family members of the 3000 who died were reading the names of the deceased in Alphabetical order at the memorial. At 8:00 a.m. Pacific time, they were reading the names which began with the letter “L.” Then, at 9:20 a.m., they were working on the “Ss.” And, at 10:00 a.m., they were working in the “Ws.”
Every firefighter’s name was introduced with “Firefighter” before his name. There were times when several individuals shared uncommon last names. That was when one would realize that two or more individuals were family members. I watched four young boys reading off their list of names. All four lost a father, and all four were toddlers or younger when their fathers died.

Today we remember. We mourn. We reflect upon what we have lost. The bill for the destruction of four airplanes, the World Trade Center properties, and a sizeable chunk of the Pentagon exceeded 25 billion dollars.

But these are nothing compared with the devastation and pain that is being re-lived in thousands of homes today – as it has each day since that loved one vanished. That smile, never to be seen again. That laugh, never to be heard again from down the hall. That touch, never to be felt again in this world.

The carefree innocence we once enjoyed has burnt up in flames with the Twin Towers. But with the help of Almighty God that same fire will kindle a new resolve within our hearts. “For God who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” (from 2 Corinthians)

We are a nation built on strength. Strength of will, strength of heart, strength of resources. But even more important, strength of character founded in God’s Word. Today the most fitting tribute we can give is to pledge ourselves anew. To our country and to our God who makes her great.

Please re-read REVLOC’s comment. It pertained to American history since President Kennedy.

Also, according to my Bible, Jesus was executed by the Romans only at the fervent behest of a Jewish crowd (we the people). That day was a very dark day in human behavior. It was also necessary and glorious for those who believe Jesus is their Savior.

I think ignorance sucks more than poverty. It‘s likely the impoverished know that they’re poor, so there’s at least a chance they will be motivated to improve their condition.

So —– a brutal; disgusting attack on a civiliam population fueled by hate.

We respond by sending troops to suffer and die for 10 years in a sandy pig hole.

An alternative response, total destruction of the locations where these pigs hide. Collatteral damage you say? THEIR TARGETS WERE COLLATTERAL DAMAGE. If a govenment supports terrorists, or cannot remove them, tough luck, sucks to be you. Turn them to glass. Deal with the “outrage” from terrorist supporters and countries who suck up to quasi- religious haters.. They will know that unless they eliminate the pigs themselves, they become part of the solution.

I strongly believe we still owe the countries where these terrorists were spawned and trained a nuclear reminder that the USA is not a target of opportunity, but a nation who will crush you if you attack us.

Recently, I learned that 3000 died on 09/11/01. During the War Against Terrorism, 6000 soldiers and 2,300 contractors have died. And, according to MSNBC, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE have been MAIMED by suicide bombers in Iraq and in Afghanistan!!! A percentage—and possibly a large percentage—of these people are our War Veterans!!!

Now, why, in God’s name, are we allowing these people to migrate to the United States? Once Muslims settle, they work towards Islamization, because they are not an assimilating people.

Muslims are non-conformists. The Israelis and the Europeans have always had and are still having problems with these people.

      @Old Truckers

I will start looking for it! I see that I will need it for future references!!!

It is really in one of the books. One of the countries that were mention was Lebanon. I have studied the King James Version of the Bible for the last three decades, and it truly implies that certain Arab races breed nothing but blood and violence. Many nations have gone through name changes through the last several thousand years but, oddly enough, not Lebanon!!!

I am a very busy person, but I will start searching. It might take a few months to find the exact scripture, but I will keep your name in mind. And, one day, when you least expect it, I will give you the correct book, chapter, and verse!!!

What I am referring to was written by one of the Prophets in anger and with contempt!

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

The events of September 11, 2001 is a reminder of what happens when we yield to Islam.  When you let sin into your life, nothing good will come if it.  Failure to push away the sinners will lead to more tragedies. Just take a good look at our president.

It is simply an outrage that we surrendered.. http://markamerica.com/2011/09/10/american-leadership-surrenders-how-we-lost-the-war/

“After 9/11, we should have known that the war we faced was greater and wider than one group of thugs sheltering in a desert wasteland half a world away. Our leaders should have told us, and they should have prepared us for all the ugly truths about the nature of the war against us, and the philosophical base from which it was being waged. We should have learned it ourselves and demanded a thorough war, but now we arrive on the eve of that event’s tenth anniversary, and still we cower and huddle in fear at the credible threats looming over us. “

Well I am sorry but BO is an evil man. His “FAST and FURIOUS” has exported two thousand guns into Mexico and it has resulted in the deaths of hundreds and even a US Border Patrolman. The idea was to discredit honest gun sellers on this side of the border. The ATF made them sell these guns, even short circuiting the registration requirements, so that they could try to convince the US population that these guns were coming from bad US gun sellers. It was BO’s Justice Dept under Eric Holder who were the criminals and now thousands of guns are in the hands of the very bad drug cartels which are even now creeping up into Arizona and New Mexico and connecting with the drug gangs in NYC and Chicago and LA…and guess where some of these automatic weapons are headed……IMPEACH this EVIL MAN before he endangers anyone else. Never forget who is responsible and that Islamo Fascism is at the root of it. Never forget that we had a President then who was willing to scour the ends of the earth to bring the battle back to those bastards and cowards and pummel them. Never forget our beloved American and allied troops who have waged this campain, some paying the ultimate price and making the ultimate sacrifice. Finally, never forget that we are the greatest nation on the face of the earth. We will never be defeated by any enemy from outside, we will only be defeated from within if we allow it to happen. Never surrender.

Bill Ayers in New York Times on this very day…10 years ago,

Saying how he is SORRY HE DID NOT DO MORE BOMBING!
My, what a coincidence that NYT published that story on 911,

With a picture of Bill Ayers STANDING ON THE AMERICAN FLAG!
He and his Obama buddy were probably toasting the day….

Notice the applause for Bush’s arrival at the podium. None for B.O.. Says alot about the two of them.

God protect us all and especially the soldiers.

I noticed that as well. Bush is loved by more New Yorkers than the liberals want to believe. He was a hero through and through on that horrific day 10 years ago.

Notice too in the picture above how George and Laura hold hands and Barack and Michelle hold their own hands. I see no emotion in the president and his wife. I don’t know if I see this because of my dislike for them or if it is reality. I see no emotion in either of them.

    The lost lives…

all in the name of some so-called, “religion”.

    Utterly appalling.

God grant us comfort, resolve, courage and wisdom.

    .
    .
    .
These are gut-wrenching photos to those who are good, and loving, and have a heart.

As for those who use this as a political platform, there is a special place in hell for you, whomever you are.
    .
    .
    .
I especially like the last photo where Mr. & Mrs. Bush are holding hands, clinging to one another for strength and comfort. They aren’t posing for a photo-op, you can even see the pain in their faces.

    The obamas?
Well, you draw your own conclusions.

I absolutely fast forwarded past them – no respect for them at all!

And this should have been about our true heroes that day, not all about Bloomberg and politicians. I can’t tell you how angry this makes me! But we must keep on.

      @TOMFERRARI

After posting two comments, I came down to read your comment, because you usually write intelligent ones.

“As for those who use this as a political platform, there is a special place in hell for you …”

I believe I know who you are referring to!!! Yesterday, I saw a video of someone doing just that!!! I was appalled, rather shaken, and later angered by the video being used for a presidential election. There were well over 200 people who could not see that the intentions behind the video were extremely wrong!

I don’t know about you, but I will never forget the look on President Bush’s face when he was told what was happening. For the first time in my life, I saw a man in total agony. It was true, it was genuine–what showed on his face and in his eyes. I can’t imagine what he felt at that moment. Lesser men might have collapsed.

I can quibble and debate President Bush’s policies. But of that man, on that day, keeps him forever high in my estimation.

UpState – you are so right! He has been vilified for everything, including not jumping up and running out of the room to ‘deal with it’ as soon as he heard. His first act of protecting the citizens of the United States started in that very first moment … with him protecting a room full of 2nd graders from the horror of what was happening.

The Islamist Marxist *****-in chief is more phony than a nine-peso wooden coin. And he isn‘t ’really’ black; he’s half white! In my not-so-humble opinion, any photos of him should not be forced on our eyes.

While today might be a cause to again mourn, I ask my fellow Citizens (liberals aren’t Americans, far as I am concerned) to stand stronger. Cry if you need, Americans, then come back with more resolve. I encourage you all to stay strong, stay frosty.

    We are Americans!

I just read Paul Krugman’s latest piece on how President Bush only used the 9/11 tragedy to cash in….and then doesn’t have the guts to open it to comments….Paul you are a coward and if Karma has it‘s revenge I can only hope it’s swift. You are the worst of the worst and how dare you use this event to spew your idiotic thoughts.

Yes it does appear to be; he is only using this anniversary for the furthering of his own agendas and the reelection of himself to the Presidency once again.

Note, there will probably be some of the lunatic “everything is a conspiracy” fringe who will take the smirk to mean “Why has the detonations we set up not happened yet…” or some other such nonsense, and mind you I do not trust the current admin at all not to do anything they need for their own seizure of power.

Obama is nothing but a commie hack. He sees this “event” as a photo op. I despise him and the commies that he hired. If he wins reelection, I suggest that the American people nuke D.C.

I had the honor to have visited the towers long before the attack. These were really beautiful structures and I still get tears just watching the video of the planes hitting the towers knowing well that hundreds of people were killed and hundreds more were trapped above the fires. I am also very saddened by the sight of the people crying and walking away covered in cement dust. This was a very sad day indeed.

God Bless the survivors, 1st responders, and the victims and their families.
Obama… GO HOME. My guess is that the golf course was closed on 9-11 or you would have gone golfing instead.

I guess I take it back. I had said that smirk probably means he wished he was on the greens playing a round of golf today, but deep down Obama must have some sense of grief over America’s loss(?)
