‘A Guy Just Hit Me’: Fox News Reporter Attacked at Wis. Protest During Live Broadcast

“There is hate in their eyes.”

That’s the eerie description Fox News national reporter Mike Tobin gave of the Wisconsin protesters in Madison on Saturday night. By Sunday afternoon that hate manifested itself in the form of an assault on Tobin, who was hit during a live broadcast from the Capitol amid chants of ‘Fox News lies!”

“A teacher was giving me the business yesterday,” Tobin explained before the attack, “and the teacher told me she hates me because it makes her feel good.” He then found out the extent of that hate just moments later:

Tobin’s description on Saturday, via the Daily Caller, offers more insight into appalling and disgusting reaction of the protesters:

“One thing I think should make clear – the people coming after us from every live shot here, these people hate,” Tobin said. “These are people who don’t respect diverse viewpoints. In fact, they’re so afraid I’ll present a diverse viewpoint, that’s why they try to heckle me and shut down every live shot. They’ve made it clear, that what they want to make it harder for me to do my job. They are proud of that when they disrupt a live shot, when they really trample over the First Amendment rights or the First Amendment’s obligations of a reporter. Now, I am not saying that’s all of the people. Those are the people that come here and heckle and try to disrupt things. I look in their eyes – there is hate in their eyes. They don’t want to hear any kind of viewpoint that is different from their own. That’s why they do what they do.” [Emphasis by the Daily Caller]

    Know these are difficult times, however I’ve been at many Tea Party events, including 9/12 March on Washington. Never, never has there been violence. Even though the left has fabricated, lied, miss reported. There is no documented Proof! Yet the progressive left uses any and all nasty tactics, well documented, but refuse to report truthfully!.

      I’ve been to several tea parties too… 2 in Madison. Of course we didn’t have the kind of hate or behavior displayed in this fight for unions… most who attended were families, grandparents veterans. The remnants of the protesters today are paid union thugs and UW-Madison college kids who BTW have been indoctrinated by progressive/socialist professors. Wisconsinites call Madison the Peoples Republic for good reason… it’s infested with lefties. Now the remaining are refusing to leave the Capitol building… for cleaning which most have said stinks after they’ve spent the last 10 days camping out in it. I’d just like Gov Walker to call up the Guard and haul them all out by their non-hearing ears!

    What is it exactly Fox News has lied about? Any opportunity these ppl have been given to speak its always hateful. Tobin has failed doing his job he should let them speak on camera so we can all hear it from them. SInce Fox lies they should air it out instead of acting like 3rd graders.

    Call their bluff Fox, heck give them an entire segment to plead their case and explain to America that TAXPAYERS have to pay for their retirement and benefits. You are watching history folks as the unions are playing the role in bringing this country down putting the final nails in the coffin. They along with the govt have driven industry out of this country now they are turning it into class warfare and getting physical. Make hard copies of everything you see posed online it WILL BE scrubbed.

      I‘ve been doing that for over a decade and it’s good practice. It’s unbelievable how many times Karl Rove has vehemently denied saying something , only to have someone like me provide the network with a screen capture, timed and dated.

      Scrubbing is still an inexact science, though. Just ask the crew who worked all night trying to clean up Palin’s site after the Tuscon shootings. All that work, yet hundreds of thousands of people like me have archived screen captures of the evolution her site from the day it went up until the day it was scrubbed. Same with Glenn’s (Hi, Glenn!) And yes, we do the same with the major news networks and most of the high profile politicians, regardless of party. We do it with Fox as well. While it’s not a news network, it is a valuable lesson in propaganda for media students down the road.

    My old stompin’ grounds have been hijacked by thugs. Things have to change A LOT for me to ever inhabit that state again. I own land there and had hopes of having a summer home there some day, but I think I‘m going to look more towards a state where the vast MAJORITY of residents don’t subscribe to the “entitlement” mentality. BTW, I pay more in property taxes on vacant land in WI than I do on a 300k+ house where I reside now.

      Larger cities may not be as bad as smaller towns, but from what I have seen in smaller towns there are more bad teachers than larger cities. Some should not be allowed to be around kids. If they are bad enough they are just moved to another school, probably with a clean record. Most of my kids teachers were good bot the bad were realy bad and should have been forced out. It is very clear, especialy seeing them react now, that too many are in it just for the big pay day. Their actions are apauling and are every bit as bad as the union thugs, I guess I should say some are as bad as the union thugs, still looks like theres a lot that could be violant. Wheyyyyy back there my Histiry professor professed that G.Washington was a very bad person. He went on in depth for most of the hour. But then that was the seventies. I will be watching to see if the teachers in our state go crazy and if I recognize them I would complain to some one. I dont know who to complain to but I would complain to some one in education.

      Gee, This type of battery on the press apparently isn’t illegal in Tucson, from what I remember Sheriff Dupnik saying. ONLY THE RIGHT CAN EXPRESS HATE SPEECH. Wasn’t that the message of the fine Sheriff? What we see in Wisconsin and Ohio and several other states most certainly has to be something else.
      Bobby Kennedy went after Jimmy Hoffa, the head of the Teamsters for violence and corruption during his brother, John’s administration. Hoffa went to jail until Nixon pardoned him. But that didn’t turn out to well for any of the above, as I recall.
      During WWI, the Teamsters went to Europe, with the American Expeditionary Forces, to run the ambulances. As soon as they got there, they went on strike for higher wages. Wilson turned to the colleges and universities, where he had many friends, and got the affluent men to take their new cars over to “bust their strike” and many got killed, but the unions didn’t get their raise. Read Hemingway’s “A Call to Arms” for his personal accounts of these actual events.
      What’s happening in Wisconsin is typical Union activity. It’s what they know. They do it because they believe they are “entitled”. The foundation of NYC history is based on similar “strong-arm tactics”. “A Streetcar named Desire” was set in a time where this was “just the way things were”. (Do we even need to discuss “The Soprano’s”?) The Civil Service Commission came about because Teddy Roosevelt wanted to bust the corruption he saw in NYC a century ago. He ran on that as his platform to clean up the unions.
      It’s going to take some courage to see this through. Unions may be “civil” around the dinner table, but they are the dark and evil side of American history that are just beginning to show their true colors. This time. They paid all those hundred of millions of dollars to the DEMOCRATIC PARTY for a reason. They are telling and showing us what those “reasons” are. “Pay up or else”. Sean Connery’s character in “the Untouchables” said it best, “What are you prepared to do? It’s the Chicago way!” We certainly have plenty of representation of that opinion in the current administration.

      Speaking of that, it certainly is no surprise that Fox sent someone like Mike Tobin to Madison. I wouldn’t want to take him on. He came from the Israeli- Palestinian conflict. They knew not to mess with him over there. Union mobs vs one tough Fox reporter: ok, fair fight.

      Funny thing on the way from peaceful protest to the hate fest now going on, Mike Tobin‘s early on reporting sounded much like MSNBC’s – showing the anguish of the impoverished and down trodden public employee unions…woe is them, tax payers are awakening.

      But teachers, generally are not big on hating and hitting, have been replaced by the purple shirted SEIU thugs who relish beating up grandmas, handicapped African American Tea Party members and FOX news reporters….

      But they picked the wrong guy this time. Once Mike figures out this bunch is no different than the terrorists he reported on in the Middle East, he’ll make some room.

      Geez, what a shameful display of conservative victimhood. Hate in their eyes? Don’t confuse hate with utter disrespect for Fox and its feckless minions based on years of false and misleading content being spewed out over the American landscape. Can’t imagine such a vitriol against the media, huh? Interesting, considering that demonizing the media has been the strategy of right wing extremists since it began back in the Reagan days. Let me guess, you feel unfairly criticized.

      A guy just hit me? Really? Prove it. Should be simple enough, prove it. Here’s you problem – despite the whining sissiness that permeates your “violence” videos around here, everybody with the slightest commitment to truth knows they’re nothing more than incidental contact. And since the citizen “troublemakers” aren’t getting enough attention with their whines about being “assaulted” Fox is now sending in the professional victims like this neck with a mic Mike Tobin. Good thing they didn’t send in Griff Jenkins or that Douchey kid. I’d hate to see either one of them have to abort the pregnancy that resulted.

      I have trouble understanding why a future worth living includes utter lack of freedom and choice, and NO chance of getting rich and successful. It is amazing that this has happened many times in the past and ultimately failed in every occurrence. I guess bread lines are in a “future worth living”. I guess being overtaxed and barely scraping by, while the ruling elite live in the lap of luxury is in a “future worth living”. I guess being told what to eat, when to sleep, what to think, and what to say exists in a “future worth living”. The citizens in Russia, Italy, and Germany were fed this drivel in the past. Ask them how it worked out. Ask them how many of their own citizens had to lose their life by the hands of their own government. A future worth living must include living in fear and under the threat of death, I guess. You will be under the same laws as us Dawg, the left is using you, and many like you as pawns. If they achieve their goal, you will be forgotten. This is why I am no longer, nor will ever be again, a liberal.
