A New Football Documentary That Makes Peyton Manning Cry

In a crowded Tennessee theater last night, country singer Kenny Chesney debuted his new football documentary The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story–a movie so emotionally powerful that Peyton Manning, who attended the premiere, cried as he watched the film. Condredge Holloway, far left, was Chesney’s childhood hero. He was also the first black starting quarterback in the Southeastern Conference.

A New Football Documentary That Makes Peyton Manning Cry

According to the Great American Country blog:

You don’t have to be a Tennessee fan or even a football fan to be moved by the story of a man who was denied the chance to play quarterback at school after school because of his skin color. One by one, those who wore orange after Condredge stood to address him, Kenny, director Shaun Silva and ESPN’s John Dahl after the film. Peyton Manning confessed to having tears in his eyes as he watched the film.

Watch a snapshot of the documentary here:

Tom Brady couldn’t even get on the field at Michigan. Peyton doesn’t really have anything other than receivers and he made most of them what they are. Brady is good, his girl is hot, but I’ll take Manning.

Who cares if Peyton Manning got tears in his eyes? Seriously, if I want a movie review from someone who cries during movies Glenn Beck will tell me all about how he bawled throughout. Not only that he will research it see if it is accurate and write out on the chalk board what was wrong. I’m just saying if i want a weeping sissies movie review I got GB and PM takes a back seat. People will cry about making fun of racism well, the generations are different and all the kids know its basically BS now. No one really cares what color you are anymore we look more to if you are an ***** or not. So fittingly enough while yes the blacks suffered their goals were almost reached. Now we need the socialist agenda out of our schools and the states back in control of their legal power.

I am so glad they made this movie. He was a hero of mine as a kid. Cover of Street & Smith’s. Big mistake the NFL letting him get away. As I recall a pretty great CFL career.

What we REALLY need is a good documentary on how sports was started by communists who felt the need to ‘satisfy’ the fighting instinct in males to keep them at bay while they attack their country. Why isn’t there any documentaries on this????? WHY

The football of today is not nearly the product it once was. Just this clip shows that. It sickens me what they’ve done to this sport. They chickafied it. .

Reminds me of a player at SMU named Jerry Levias who put up with racism here in Dallas. My dad took me to those games at the Cotton Bowl back in the 60″s.

Does that put Manning and Boehner in the same league? They both have class, and judging by the caliber of their detractors, a LOT of class.

I’m sure the fact that you, and others, think he sucks is devastating to him since he just became the highest paid football player in history. I hope Peyton goes on to be the coach of the Colts when he retires from the field!!!

Earl Campbell is my all time favorite player in any sport. He is why my team was always the Houston Oilers and why I’m a Titans fan today. Caused me a bit of grief growing up in the south bay area of California surrounded by ‘Niner and Raider fans.

Sounds a bit like it was written by one of them collidge perfessers, don’t it? One with a PhD in contemporary literature or sustainable rhetoric. ‘Though it is fuzzy, one can just FEEL what it is that the writer was trying to say.

Question to Doug Williams, Redskin QB: How long have you been a Black Quarterback?
      Doug WIlliams: My whole life.

There have been many QB‘s that were denied a chance to play due to sterotypes that Blacks weren’t smart enought to play the QB position. Doug Williams broke that barrier by winning the Superbowl. Still, it was quite a while until we started seeing Black QB on a regular basis.

I wonder when we will see more Dwarf’s in the NBA. That is a barrier that still needs to be broke.

For the most part, the blind have already broken the MLB barrier with the blind umpire movement, and the mentally disabled have broken the NFL barrier in their referring (coin flip).
