A ‘No’ From Netanyahu: Israeli PM Rejects 1967 Border Talk in Front of Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — Showing no concrete progress, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sat alongside President Barack Obama on Friday and declared that Israel would not withdraw to 1967 borders to help make way for an adjacent Palestinian state. Obama had called on Israel to be willing to do just that in a speech the day earlier.
The Israeli leader said he would make some concessions but Israel will not go back to the lines from decades earlier because they would be “indefensible.”
For his part, Obama said that there were differences of formulations and language but that such disputes are going to happen “between friends.”
The president never mentioned the 1967 borders as the two men talked with reporters. The leaders spoke after a lengthy meeting in the Oval Office, amid tense times.
Obama said in his speech on Thursday that the United States supports creation of a Palestinian state based on the border lines that existed before the 1967 Six Day War in which Israel forces occupied east Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza. The comment drew angry criticism in Israel.

Tell them firmly that the problem is that Israel is illegally and intentionally taking land. Period. This was discussed before the nation of Israel was founded in 1948. Every leader of Israel has made comments to the effect that they want the land and the Palestinians gone.
The reason that they refuse to define their borders is that they have not yet finished the expansion that they have planned.

First, neither Syria nor Jordan are going to be ok with that idea. More Palestinians live in Jordan today, anyway, than live in the West Bank or Gaza. I’d say at least 50% of the “Jordanians” I met over there claim Palestinian origins, either directly, or within only a generation. The actual Jordanians aren’t too keen on their country being overrun by Palestinians as is. This idea would never pass.
Second, have you been to Jordan? You cross the river from Israel and you’re left with miles and miles of non-arable land, high desert cliffs, and only a few scattered oases. It’s difficult for the lizards to eek out an existence there. Simply having the land wouldn’t do them much good. I’m not as familiar with Syria, although I’ve been to the Golan. While that land is definitely higher quality, acquiring that land from Syria would be even more of an impossibility.
This problem in the ME is certainly a complex one, and things are going to get pretty gnarly!

When, and where has Israel attempted to expand?
The land that they occupied after the Palestinians attacked them, and got their rumps handed to them does not count. Israel was not the aggressor. Palestine must take responsibility for their actions.
44 years is a lot of time to expand. If that was their goal they did a poor job of it with the military power they have.

Otherwise a foreigner and a naturalized citizen’s child, if born on U.S. soil but raised abroad until age 21, at 35 is eligible for POTUS. Equally untenable, is Obama setting a precedent of dual citizens being eligible.

I do not believe it is a Christian thing, I am Christian and I believe what Jesus said in John 4, “The hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. etc..” He goes on to say that Salvation came from the Jews, but we are supposed to worship God in spirit and truth… Not worship Israel… And I know that Israel has done wrong in the past- hence the exile and destruction. And from what I can see they are doing wrong again- Holding Palestine on the brink of economic collapse killing innocent civilians with missiles and guns..
Also it can not be about giving Israel its land back.. If that is the case then I think we Americans owe a lot of land back to my native American people and I do not think you would like it if we held you in poverty once we took our land back…
As far as an Ally, I can see that. Thomas Jefferson was battling with the Arab pirates since the founding of America, but that does not justify our treatment/allowing Israel to mistreat their neighbors.
I personally think we should keep ties with Israel, but hold them accountable and not let them get away with what they are doing to their neighbors now. So, if you’re saying it was fair to seize the land FROM the Israelis (and you are saying that), then surely it was fair for them to seize it back. If the iSLUMists can take it back then do so. But they‘re trying to get the UN to do it for them because they know they’d be destroyed if they went up against Israel.
Face it dude, you’re placing yourself squarely on the wrong side of future history. You either want Israel to win, or the iSLUMist. You can’t have both, period! One will have piece and democracy, the other will have war and mass murder.
