A Reaction Says 1,000 Words: Sarkozy And Merkel Respond to Italian PM Mess

For those who have been following the eurozone crisis, there were several major developments that unfolded over the weekend. One of the biggest was French President Nicolas Sarkozy lobbying to have England’s Prime Minister David Cameron barred from negotiations involving the possible injection of $100 billion into euro banks.

“We’re sick of you criticizing us and telling us what to do. You say you hate the euro, you didn’t want to join and now you want to interfere in our meetings,” Sarkozy said to Cameron, according to diplomats.

However, as frustrated as Sarkozy may be with Cameron, EU leaders are almost as annoyed and embarrassed by the financial (and personal) fiasco Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has created for himself. And this annoyance provided the weekend with a humorous–albeit brief–moment.

During a press conference, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Sarkozy were both asked what they thought about Italy and its “commitment to reform,” reports Business Insider.

Although the video is not in English, their opinion of the Italian mess is fairly clear.
