A Weapon That’s Half-Shotgun, Half-Bow? Here’s the Video!

It’s a weapon combination so outlandish that some have called it the “craziest weapon mashup” they’ve ever seen. Others don’t believe it is real and some who do believe it find it “cool but pointless.” It’s a combined compound bow and shotgun.

A YouTube video shows a man testing out the hybrid. Check it out:
In the comments, some question the recoil because his elbow didn’t bend.
Although how this item was made is not specified, Every Day No Days Off’s gun blog (via Neatorama) has an idea on how these two weapons could have been put together:
It looks to me like there’s some type of plunger at the back of the shotgun, which is likely in contact with the firing pin. The cable then whacks that and… BOOM.
What are your thoughts on this weapon? Let us know in the comments.

I can squeeze a trigger with my finger – it takes this guy his arm and shoulder – not very practical.

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 4:06pmThere is no way he could fire a shotgun (except maybe a 410) with one fully extended arm and not have it fly back into his face. Also it didn’t sound like a shotgun (again unless it was a 410). 410′s are useless unless you are shooting something the size of a bird.

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 5:00pmI’m no superman, but I am 6′3″ and 225lbs. I can hold up my pistol grip 12 gauge like a hand gun and shoot. As long as your arm is locked straight(just like you do with a bow) your elbow doesn’t bend. Not like those skinny drunk girls you see on youtube shooting Desert Eagles.

Report Post »You must have the strength of a ten year old girl.
I can shoot a 20ga with one hand pistol style all day long.
The 12ga starts getting old after a couple of boxes.
Just because you’re a p***y doesn’t mean everyone else is too.

Posted on May 30, 2012 at 7:45amYou’re wrong.
My advice?
Less TV, more actual firearm use.
PS
When you shoot people in the chest with a firearm they also don’t fly backward across the room, as they do on TV.

Posted on May 30, 2012 at 8:28amI’ve been shooting 12 ga(00-buckshot) one handed for years. The gun is not modified. After a stroke 16 years ago I had to learn a new way to shoot, the barrel has never gone past 12 o’clock straight up or been pulled from my grip.

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 3:26pmWhen something like this occurs to me I ask myself: Would people laugh at me if they saw it? If the answer is yes, then I just forge ahead and do it. More power to this guy — I‘ve had shotguns that have lived their last and weren’t worth more than scrapping or parts, and bows that were in pretty much the same shape — sorry this never occured to me, though.
Good job, I say.

Posted on May 29, 2012 at 2:21pmit’s pretty cool, but I question the accuracy on it. I wouldn‘t doubt it authenticity because I’ve fired a 12 gauge single handedly without the recoil bending my arm. I still don’t see the purpose of such a tool though.
