Ahead of Diane Sawyer’s full interview with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ husband Mark Kelly, ABC is releasing some encouraging excerpts of the sit-down that not only ensures more viewers, but also fulfills the public‘s rabid hunger for any information regarding the congresswoman’s condition.
Today, Kelly gave America another spoonful, talking about how he’s convinced Giffords recognizes him, and telling another heartwarming story about the couple’s interaction:
“If I hold her hand, she’ll play with my wedding ring,” he told Sawyer. “She’ll move it up and down my finger. She’ll take it off. … She’ll put it on her own finger. She’ll move it to her thumb. And then she can put it back on my finger.
“The reason why I know that that means she recognizes me is because she’s done that before. She‘ll do that if we’re sitting in a restaurant. She’ll do the same exact movements.”
Last night, ABC released part of the interview in which Kelly talks about Giffords reaching over and giving him a neck massage:
The full interview airs tonight on ABC at 10 p.m. ET.

Posted on January 19, 2011 at 5:39amENOUGH already with how great Gifford is! Jesus Christ! How many other people died that day around the nation, the world? I don’t hear any one singing their praises or going to their funerals. How many people died that day who weren’t shot in AZ? How about other peoples children who died that day? Wheres all the sympathy for those poor suffering parents? America is so full of hypocrites that if we exported them, we’d pay off our national debt in 24 hours.

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 1:42pmCome on people, let‘s not pretend that Giffords was a good person just because she’s in critical care. She was a traitor to the Constitution and a bitter partisan Democrat. She didn‘t deserve to be shot but she doesn’t deserve to be touted as a wonderful person in life either. She was a liberal socialist who endeavored to garner more power for her Washington DC bureaucracy buddies.
I remember seeing her on Fox defending the anti-American side, but now because she’s suffering from a gun shot wound to the head, everyone is turning her into some kind of living-martyr. Same goes for the judge that was killed. He was a traitor to the Constitution too. Sad to say, but Court just might be better without him. These socialists should be felt sorry for as far as human dignity is concerned, but not elevated as heroic figures.

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 12:43pmI truely believe that congresswoman Giffords will make a complete recovery and show little to no lasting effects. I also believe in GOD and the power of miracles and prayer. GOD truely works in mysterious ways and I feel that by and through his grace that this tragedy will have a positive outcome. GOD bless the victims in AZ and all Americans!

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 11:17amFor all the time the media spends demeaning family values and showcasing infidelity, divorce and worse – this is a welcome change. If he chooses to share these times with his wife with the world, that’s his prerogative. Not necessarily what my choice would be, but to each his own in that regard.
Report Post »Bottom line – This is how a marriage should be… “for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health for as long as we both shall live.” I applaud those who actually live up to their wedding vows!

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 10:48amGreat recovery for the congresswoman. Will her husband be wearing a “Together We Can Thrive” t-shirt? Knowing how ABC cut out the threat made against the tea party leader on their own show, you know Sawyer is going to ask him if he blames Sarah Palin

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 9:33amThe MSM has to report on something. They sure are working hard to ignore the rising gas and food prices. I guess they just can’t figure out a way to blame Bush for the current inflation rate so they just say nothing at all about it.

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 8:53amI have to sort of agree only I wouldn’ tcall it an automobile accident, but sort of like being at the marital bedside.
Some things like those moments are so personal, they shouldn’t be media fodder.

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 9:53amThey’re doing their best to turn this into some kind of Made For Television Lifetime Drama. Obviously the Congresswoman had nothing to do with this, but the people surrounding her are layering on the saccharine by the truck load. There was a Judge that died, actually died, as well in this. The only time I hear him talked about is when they mention the judges in Arizona excusing themselves from the trial of this shooter. To be frank, I know next to nothing about the man who actually took the bullet and died.
I know even less of the others that died, except for the 9 year old.
I’m not saying that I want to know per se, it’s just startling to me at times how…directed…so much of these kinds of things, tragedies, seem at time.

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 10:09amI want to see the entire interview; wish they would show all of it instead of just the glimpses they have already. That would keep people interested, not the snippets shown right now.
I wish her the fullest of recoveries, and let the glory go to God for guiding the medical staff and doctors aiding her, and Him for a swift healing granted so far to her.
This is a true miracle indeed.

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 11:44amIt‘s to bad it’ll be on ABC, it wont be watched by the majority of Americans. I wouldn’t spit on ABC if it were on fire. (Along with a few other networks!) I’ll catch it on a youtube clip. God Bless the Giffords, I wish them the best, but I don’t support those stations or their websites, anytime. If that was the only place left to watch, or listen to, I would do without.
