ABC‘s Jake Tapper Presses White House on Hoffa ’SOB’ Remarks

Tommy Christopher at Mediaite reports on a testy exchange between ABC News Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney at Tuesday’s White House briefing. Tapper took his time to press Carney on the WH’s response (or lack thereof) to heated comments made by Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa Jr. prior to President Obama’s Labor Day speech in Detroit:
Hoffa’s remarks are the toast of a bone-dry post-Labor Day news cycle, so Carney had to expect questions about it. The briefing was pushed back an hour-and-a-half, time likely spent fine-tuning for an already important messaging day.
The first reporter to ask about Hoffa’s remarks was ABC’s Jake Tapper, who pressed Carney on the President’s January call for civility, and in a heated exchange, tried to get Carney to set a standard for surrogate quote-ownership for the 2012 campaign.
Tapper began by reading President Obama’s January quote, then asked, “Did he mean that?”
On “Fox & Friends” Tuesday morning, anchor Gretchen Carlson tried gamely to get DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to address to vitriol at the Obama Labor Day event without much success.

You claim it is Ron Paul’s foreign policy views, that you do not like. And that is understandable to a certain extent. I wont lie, I cringed at the Iran answer myself. It actually made me rethink for a minute if this is really the guy I want to vote for. It took some time, but not long to come up with the answer: YES.
If we can not protect ourselves at home, how can we police the world? If America crumbles it doesn’t really matter what we do anywhere else. America at home is a sand castle being beat with waves. The most important thing we can do as a country is get back to the constitution. That in my mind is above all the most important step in saving this country. When we get back to that we become great again, and we are far from that at this point in time.
There is no other candidate willing to go that far. They have special interest, and corporations to pander to. This could be our last stand with this election, and in my opinion we need to fix ourselves before we can fix the world. How could his foreign policy scare you that much? You think we would be less safe if we brought troops and weapons home? What defends better a thick wall that surrounds a small area…..or a thin wall that surround a large area.
Rome fell (not it’s final stand but..) the city itself was taken by barbarians because Romes troops were spread out all over the empire, and no one there to protect it…just sayin’

Posted on September 7, 2011 at 12:47amI live here and am now thinking that this idiot got his hands on one of the guns from ‘fast and furious’ if so the American public needs to file a suit against the perps in the govt. that forced gun stores to sell these weapons………the family is of course pulling the ‘mentally ill’ defense just like the Muslim man in Arizona that did the honor killing……….People if we don’t stand strong against this, (by standing strong I mean: taking the time to educate yourself, taking the time to train physically and mentally, be armed but respect your right to be armed……….don’t be lazy you know what I mean….get mentally, physically, & psychologically ready…..no excuses……get rid of all worthless handicaps of your own and start at sunrise tomorrow…..there are many doing the same……walk through your day tomorrow asking your God to get you right………No one in Northern Nevada has an AK like the one this guy got his hands on……the family is trying to plead ‘mental illness’ done with that crap….of course anyone who murders anyone ‘unarmed’ is mentally ill……but no more of this…..this guy was involved with someone who sent him into this ……….fast and furious……..tell them (govt. officials) to come forward!!!

We should use this to create a rallying cry similar to “Remember the Alamo”. Something like “Who’s the SOB, now“ or ”Stopping Obama’s Buddies”. I am on board with the idea of small government, fiscal responsibility and getting Unions out of government. Some other things I believe in are God, Grub, Guns and Gold (Silver too). I fear for our country over the next few years and hope that others can get ready for a long, hard, haul that may be coming. May God bless us and guide us, one and all.
