ABC’s Karl: Obama Offered ‘Quicker’ ‘More Forceful’ Denouncement of WI Gov. Than of Mubarak

Via ABC News:

“The President was quicker and more forceful of his denouncement of Gov. Scott Walker than he was of denouncing Hosni Mubarak,” [ABC Senior Political Correspondent Jon] Karl said. “Madison, Wisconsin – the state of Wisconsin — this is arguably ground zero for the 2012 presidential campaign. Look, this is a state if President Obama loses, he’s almost certainly going to not win re-election,” Karl explained.

    I watched the local news today I live in MI and they are asking peopel to go to the capital here and protest MY new Gov because he is fast tracking a bill to bust the public workers contracts. I think its GREAT that we finally got peopel willing to stand up and do the tough job. A side note I bought more ammo today. Things are getting NASTY

      My hat’s off to any Gov who will do the hard work, like Walker is trying to do. Obama and his kind have supported ‘money for nothing’ to help create this kind of state financial mess. And of couse he comes down hard and fast on Walker. He’s trying to pay back the unions and protect the 27 million dollar campaign contribution he wants again. He’s abusive to Americans, like an alcoholic or drug addict is abusive to a family – those who depend on Obama will be his easiest target and the first ones hurt! Vote – every chance you get!       i don‘t think we should be putting blame where it doesn’t belong…yeah, there’s some bad employees for sure, but it‘s mostly democratic politicians who’ve got us in this mess with the public unions…liberal politics….and there’s no doubt that republicans have played a major role in other terrible things, more on the national level. free trade comes to mind…that has gutted our manufacturing jobs. both very wrong we’ll survive, at least until tomorrow…lol

    The woman who said the unions are ready to come to the table. Look at New Jersey, they were only asked to pay 1 1/2% to their health plan they rejected it. The police union refused to do anything. Well several hundred or thousand were terminated.
    Don’t you think a little less and everyone keeps their jobs, or NO and people lose jobs??
    Clearly unions are out for themselves not the citzens or their members.

      @DCWU Is there a way “WE THE PEOPLE” can impeach the bastard? Just wondering why WE cannot impeach him on whatever charges….. I use that term (bastard) as he is the illegitimate son of an unmarried mother.       Mill….Respectfully, I wish you and others would stop using the term ‘Democracy”. The US is a Constitution Rebublic, not a democracy, which is majority-rule.
      We are represented by democratically (majority) elected representatives, yes, but democracy is what you are seeing in Wisconsin. It leads to ‘mobocracy’ (mob rule), and yes. that is an actual term.
      You see, the founders created the ‘Electoral College’ to actually elect the president. It is a check on mob rule. Example: How about we had a close election, but in one state, an organized group submitted thousands of illegal ballots for purposes of swaying that states numbers. It could actually change the outcome of the national election. When we hear the term ‘checks and balances’, that is an example. Each states ‘electors’ are equal to the total number of senators and representatives in that state, and do not ‘have’ to vote for the candidate who gets the most popular votes, though they usually do.

      A re-post of one I left yesterday, sorry to say many unions are out of control!…Just a word, I am in a union. I work for the DOT in the state of RI. Over the last twelve years we have had 2 %10 pay cuts(lasting 1 year each), had our pension rates lowered (37years for %60) and I give $6000 per year towards it. Have to be 62 to collect your pension. Had 7 cola’s in 12 years (%2 each) gave up 5 colas. Been made to pay $6230 per year for family health care(3 people) used to be $0 – 15 years ago. And this year 13 furlough days, report to work and not get paid for it. My point is, we have not fought these things because we know how bad times are. NOT ALL UNIONS ARE BAD.
      These cuts have hurt my family, I now work two jobs and we are still sinking. BUT!!!! what really tweaks my azz is that welfare people did get the cola’s and received a raise in food assistance along with free medical that is better than mine! I get up 6am everyday day and take pride in my work…why am I punished when people who watch “Scooby Do” everyday rewarded????

      Amen Sane!! I am union with no collective bargaining and taken cuts steadily for 15yrs. I still thank GOD and work hard as a corrections officer. I know how dangerous these prisoners are. I have been in probably 300-500 critical incidents in my time. Spit on, punched and verbally abused for 8/16hrs shifts. Someone has to watch these animals and protect society and my partners. Our life expectancy is not good after retirement but I still know it has to be done. Privatization does not work for this job and that is well documented. I work hard and love my country. I am as invested as anyone in the community.

    The really important part of this law in WI is that the state will no longer collect union dues and pass them on. The workers will have to pay them separately and in these times who is going to willing give up money?
    This is Obama’s campaign funds we are talking about.

      @60yrold I think you are exactly right, The way I see it is he is working on budget AND if he can get them to pay dues directly and see how little they are getting and it is a seperate payment, a lot of people will back out of paying and the smaller the hold the UNIONS have and getting less money means, less power and money for Obama come election time.If this happens there where Obama carried last time and puts that in jeopardy and it moves from state to state like this the more likely we are to get a Republican President elected. So I see this as a win win all the way around. Especally since we don’t want unions anyway Gov Walker said he got 19,000 emails Friday telling him he was doing the right thing.

      Any president could declare martial law after the election also since the elections happen in Nov of the previous year before the president “Officially” takes office in January the following year. Doesn’t anybody remember all the media talking about Obama needing to take office right after the elections so that he could deal with the Financial Crisis before Bush could do anything about it?

      I personally believe that George Schwartz/Soros had a hand in the Sept crisis so that it would guarantee Obama’s win because the McCain/Palin ticket was starting to gain ground with the voters, even with the Couric interview, Palin’s status with the Women in the independent and conservative movements was not something that they had counted on. And so a financial crisis was in order to create a crisis mentality. Democrats can only function in a crisis so if no crisis is naturally occurring they make one up. The next crisis will be an electoral crisis and maybe this election cycle so Schwartz/Soros can get his way with the Country’s dollar, he is shorting it and he is now out trying to tank the dollar by appearing on CNN to talk about the Dear Leader’s handling of the Country.       Yes, FIGHTBACK. This is all about making us turn to the government. Redistributive change means taking form the wage earners to knock them down to dependent-class thru regulations, taxes, etc. With no incentive, we will give up. We will increasingly need more gov. assistance. At that point, we will be socialistic, and headed quickly to Communism. No one person shall have more than the rest. Do these people who support the Dems not see that?
      Can worker-drone status really what they want? Blacks, teacher’s unions, heck, all unions, that‘s what they’ll all have if their agenda is successful.

      The progressives have for a long time now have been literally reorganizing this country. They are into everything and their movement is strong. But to answer your question: We taught people to. We took God out of the schools; We went emotional touchy feely instead of being steadfast and straight; We gave the power of our kids to the schools which in time through progressive thinking and implementation of teachings, the slow transformation of such has brought us to this generation that where todays kids graduating from high school are twice as smart and savvy than in the 80‘s or 90’s – but there is no substance in them, no desire, no site of future.

      We did this by not paying attention to the subtile changes these last 40 or 50 years in the schools. Now we have 2 generations of kids wanting to do the best they can but have no roots, no practicalism. And the real sad thing is, this disaster was voted in as our commander and chief by the out-croping of the schools. The young adults have no where to turn. And now, they have been rewarded by barry selling their lives to a captivity that will not in any means resemble the freedoms and the liberties we remember.

      When you listen to barrys community service rants, he does’t talk to you or me, he talks to the kids. barry is a traitor,and he with all his comrades should be tried as such.

      Believe me, from a person who was around many moons ago when your rights in the work place were very different than they are now workers are Not oppressed in the USA today. Even non union.
      I can’t imagine having to work at a job where I would have to be a union member, having people take money from me forcefully and not allow me to have a say in what they do with it just rubs me the wrong way. At least with my tax money I can vote someone out, how much say does a union member have in who is supported with all that money?

      It’s about more than that . . . the way Public Union Collective Bargaining has been set up – there are structures that make it hard for the people to control the negotiations between the workers and the governmental entity.

      All they need is a “Union Lefty” elected once every 20 years – and they get untouchable contract concessions that surface (like these) years later for others to try and fix.

      You can see that the teachers are “child-like” in how they are dealing with this. To call in “sick” and leave their students to “subs” . . . just to walk a picket line is immoral.

      They get it, but they don’t care. They think they are entitled to free retirement, guaranteed raises, and whatever else the union bosses were able to put on their plates.       Obama once again shows himself to be on the side of BIG goverment and who he really supports. Public empoyees should have two major things happen. One is most of them should be discontinued off of goverment payroles. Thus reducing the role of goverment in our socity and our lives. Second, all, and I mean ALL public employee unions shoudl be done away with. The Democrats that have refused to show up for work in WI, should be warned that they have to show up and cast their votes and do their jobs, or go to jail. This should no longer be tolerated. The teachers that were not sick and went to the protests, especially those who brought along the students, should be fired and be done with them. If I didn’t show up to work and called in sick to protest what my empolyer is about to do that I might disagree with. I would be fired without warning. I have a great boss and I like him very much, but the pay is not great and nor are some of the working conditions. However, if I want to work then I have to accept the conditions of employment or refuse the job. I work in the private sector. These public employees because of the unions have been pamper and catered too WAY TOO MUCH!! For them to say, we are hurting and they are making sacrifces and how the goverment is treating them so unfairly and so on and so on….. Makes me so sick!!!! I have no sympathy for them what so ever!! It is about time that those who want tot work for the goverment struggle and have to tow the line like the rest of us or even more so because they work for us!!! What is good for us should be good for them. I say enough is enough, and I hope that the Gov of WI stands firm and does not give in! This is so far more important to the nation and the future of every state in these United States than just WI. If the liberals want everyone to be equal then make a public employee equal to the same wages and benifits offered to the same position in the private sector. If they proposed that, then you have seen any thing yet as way of protests. These teachers will be out for blood. The sad thing is if the Gov gets this bill pasted then these public employees would still be far better off than people in the private sector. That is the shame of all this!!!!

      Republicans want to impeach any Democrat at any time for merely existing. Name the high crimes or misdemeanor that merits an impeachment. By the way, the two great things that Republicans can do for Obama are: 1) shut down the government, or 2) start impeachment proceedings. They both will highlght that the GOP is not a responsible party fit for government.

      Not only is Obama out of touch with reality, but Donna Brazile is too. I hate to give ya the bad news, Donna, but the only public employee union that backed gov. Walker was the Police Officers in Milwaukee. The state union for police and fire didn’t back him like you want everyone to believe. Get your facts straight. She was wrong on a number of things she said. She’s either misinformed or flat out lying, I vote the latter.
      And Chistiane, there is no “WEST” in WISCONSIN.

      The “deal” offered by Gov. Walker would eliminate the current furlough days for the public employees thus resulting in an increase in wages, and would keep the Gov. from laying of approx. 5500 employees. Meaning the public employees would have to kick in a little for their pensions and healthcare rather than see their fellow employees laid off. Knowing how greedy these union members are, they will sacrifice their fellow employees for their own gain. Way to be real team members and caring for each other and each others families. This entitlement society, which has been born and fostered in the public schools by these liberal progressive teachers, has been the erosion of this society.
      If I were the Gov. of WI., I would lay off the 5500 employees beginning with those sorry excuses for teachers who lied and called in sick. To have these morally challenged individuals being the role models for your children is enough to make one sick. There never seems to be any consequences for this type of behavior anymore.

      Actually the reason is because the impeachment process wouldn’t get anywhere, the dem‘s won’t allow Obama to be impeached no matter how much damage he does and Herry Reid will most diff no allow it to get anywhere.

      There’s also the worry in some communitues that if we attempt to impeach Obama, a potential race war might occur (Blacks vs Whites) as stupid as that might sound to some of you, it‘s a possibility that can’t be ignored.

      And, regardless of all of this, trying to impeach may have the same results as when we tried to impeach Clinton. Yea, Clinton was impeached, but he still served as our president (made no sense) becuase it was a tie vote and the VP had to vote on it and naturally he wasn’t going to vote against his own boss.

      I have often thought: “Why is Obama not very concerned with getting re-elected?” Unions, hispanics, muslims, blacks and may others will vote for him. Legal or not. The unions will do the work for him. The community organizing “Poverty Pimps” will do the rest. Voter fraud will put the ribbon on this package for Obama. There is a reason he is doing anything he wants, against the will of the people, and not worried one whit about it. Congress can and will do nothing. They haven’t thus far have they?

You can‘t impeach the president just for doing a poor job and you can’t impeach him for pushing policies that you don’t agree with. The only way he could be impeached is if he is busted breaking the law…..kinda like Bubba.

      It takes a two/thirds majority in the Senate.
      From the U.S. Constitution:
      “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.”

      The House has the responsibility of drawing up articles for impeachment, which are the charges. The Senate tries the impeachment case and reaches the decision of conviction or acquittal.

      Bill Clinton was impeached by the House but was acquitted by the Senate. His acquittal is what kept him in office as President.

      Next your story about the Packer’s Woodson standing with the unions…….what did you think he would do ?? No big surprise there, he is a member of the player’s union, which is about to be involved in their own labor dispute. Get another grip.

      Why don’t the public employee unions want to “give up” collective bargaining ?? With collective bargaining an un-elected third party can tell the taxpayer what they will pay THEIR EMPLOYEES. We the taxpayers on the other hand would rather have OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS be the ones to do all of the bargaining…….from start to finish. If we don’t like what the people we have elected have done during contract negotiations we can FIRE THEM at the next election. With un-elected arbitrators we have no say. If the unions got a raw deal from arbitrators and collective bargaining you would not see the level of anger that you see now. The days of organizing to protect yourself from the taxpayer are OVER.

      Thanks for pointing that out. It’s all about money and control of the votes.
      If Walker is successful, the union workers will have lost their bargaining power, and they won’t have to pay union dues. That equates to the loss of A LOT of money for the Dems.

You can’t remove a guy from office just because you don’t agree with his policies or statements. You can’t take him out for lying if it wasn’t under oath. You can’t take him out for having different priorities and not doing things you think he should have. You can’t take him out for simple incompetence. And you can’t take him out just for being a politician and negotiating with other politicians behind closed doors to get things done.

      But I have met many who have regretted their vote for Obama. Quite a few actually.

      I am in insurance agent. I went to a new client’s house the other day and this old lady came to the door and said “Well, your President is on TV again making and arse (sp) out of himself.” I said, “he ain’t my President. I didn’t vote for him and if you say that one more time, we can end this relationship right now, before it begins.” She laughed. I sold her three policies. She spent 20 minutes complaining about Obama.

      I have been in 3 homes in the past month that had Beck on during the afternoon or were playing him back on DVR.

      Obama will not win another term.

You know, like lets say Nixon and Watergate or President Bush having someone in his administration release the name of an undercover spy to the public then covering it up or spying on US citizens without a warrant.

      That’s because President Obama is president of the US and not Egypt. Egypt is a sovereign country not a colony of the US. However, WI is a state of the US.

      Obama == no Foreign Policy at all

      Obama == dividing the people against themselves: just look at the 26 states that have sued the government now over Obamacare, and look at the protests that Obama cheers on at Arizona and Wiscon. Instead of trying to create peace, he wants upheaval and unrest.

      Nice job Obama, one and done in 2012.

      Let me say this about Obama. I hope that he is one and done, and that we have a new President in 2012. Given the polls, given that incumbents are extremely hard to dislodge, it might be a challenge.

      I think name recognition, as petty as that sounds, has great power. But I also think Obama was a trendy vote, and I hope that the swing voters who voted for him have lost some of their honeymoon, trinkle down my leg feeling for him now.

      This is he second governor of a US state he’s actively attacked. And in both cases, he sides against policies promoting personal responsibility.

      Thanks for pointing that out. It’s all about money and control of the votes.
      If Walker is successful, the union workers will have lost their bargaining power, and they won’t have to pay union dues. That equates to the loss of A LOT of money for the Dems.

      Our long gone (since 1864) 10th amendment making a comeback? God help us, I pray this is so. The only hope America has lies in her Governors of States. Washington is a failed institution, and needs a reboot. I had hope after Nov. 2nd, 2010, but not anymore. The individual state Governors have to stand, and maybe band together to make this once Great country work again.

      There is no need to impeach this guy, let him run the course. Every day we find out more about this guy, who he is, what he represents and his feeling of this countries direction. It will be hard in 2012 for him to hide behind his words and actions. There will be no ‘present’ voting history this time around.

      Let’s break it down. Wisconsin gets over $10,000 per child for education. 23 kids in each class equals $230,000. Teachers get $50,000+- which leaves $180,000. Let’s say they rent on the room is $1,000/mo = $12,000 year which leaves $168,000. Where is the rest of the money going? We should pay these teachers $75,000/year and let them pay for their own benefits and get rid of the “big brother” education system and let the decisions be made on the local level. We should also look at the outlay of welfare…how much do we spend in total divided by the number of welfare recipients…I’ll bet the numbers are staggering.
