Actor Nicolas Cage Arrested in New Orleans

Actor Nicolas Cage Arrested in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Authorities say actor Nicolas Cage has been arrested in New Orleans on charges of domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace.

The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s office says Cage was booked into the Orleans Parish Prison at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Cage has been a frequent visitor to New Orleans, where he has owned property and shot movies in the past.

New Orleans police did not immediately disclose details about his arrest. An agent for Cage did not immediately return a phone call Saturday.

Update from TMZ:

We’re told the cabbie called the police and said in addition to the screaming and yelling … he saw Nic push her.

We’re told the police came and told Nic and his wife to just go home. That’s when Nic allegedly told cops, “Why don’t you just arrest me?” The cops then reiterated that he and his wife should just go home. Cage then repeated his dare to cops.

At that point, police took Nic into custody and charged him with …domestic abuse and disturbing the peace.

No, not really. But it does give great pleasure to see THE STUPID fall. Ya know, if this guy hadn‘t married Cher back in ’87 at the end of the movie “Moonstruck,” this guy wouldn’t be in this position now!

He’s a member of the Holly wood big name family “Coppola”,

Moon Struck was a big point in his favor. However, he actually makes pretty good mvoies

Wrong is wrong. He should have walked away, but…he’s Hollywood..he’ll get away with a little fine

Any male who strikes or otherwise abuses a woman is not a man and should get what he deserves. I do beleive in alot of states even if the wife drops the charges, the prosecutors still persue a conviction especially if there is a wittness to the altercation.

Too bad, I enjoy his movies. Not like Matt Damon who opened his liberal piehole, now I cant stand to watch anything he does. Hope Nic will repent and trust is the LORD. Certainly seems the All Mighty is trying to get his attention. Seems we do not look up, until we are knocked way down. How do you know GOD is working in your life. When nothing goes right. a little different from most messages you hear. Our great Sovereign Creator, knows how to get our attention. It is because of HIS great Love for us, so we see what really matters.

On a kinder note……it is sad to see men and woman among us, who have been blessed with so much by way of talent, resources and just plain luck that most of us would give our eye teeth for…….destroy themselves. I guess this is just another chapter in the “Money Can’t Buy Happiness” book.

      Simple answer is this:

Woman pushes a man around: nothing is done.
Man pushes a woman around: domenstic abuse and assault and battery at the minimum, no mercy to be shown or expected.

This is a stupid mistake and should be treaty as such this why the fans shouldn’t want to be like the celebrity anyway. The only movie of his I paid to see was “Raising Arizona” and that was because “Earnest goes to Prison” was the only other choice.
But daring the cops to arrest you is obviously a mistake. As any drunk can attest to.
