Actress Kathy Bates: I Want Obama ‘To Stand Up on His Hind Legs and Fight These Rat Bastards’

Kathy Bates Tells Piers Morgan She Wants Obama to Stand Up to Wall StreetAcademy Award-winning actress Kathy Bates is well-known in the entertainment world. But on Friday, she entered into the political arena during an appearance on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight.”

In addressing the Wall Street honchos who she believes are responsible for many of the nation’s economic woes, Bates said that she wants President Obama “to stand up on his hind legs and fight these rat bastards.”

When Morgan asked her to clarify whom she was talking about, she said, “Well, I think he’s got to indict these guys from Wall Street. Somebody’s got pay for that mess. And I don‘t think it’s the American public.”

In addition to sharing her take on punishing “these guys,” she claimed that she’s apolitical. Later in the interview, though, she said, ”I guess I’m more of a Democrat at heart, although I’ve never affiliated myself with a particular party.”

She made it clear, too, that she doesn’t support the Tea Party. “I don’t espouse their views,” she explained. A complete transcript is available here.

    I’ve always like Kathy, but now she is just another Hollywood idiot opening her mouth. Another one off the movie list. Nor will I watch her TV show. Wouldn’t it be better to have the average America speak their mind instead of these jerks. They have no credentials to give political opinions.

      So Ms Bates doesn’t “espouse the views” of the tea parties? So she doesnt’ like lower taxes, less government, lower government spending and adherence to the constitution? Bates is one of those idiots that bought what the Marxstream Media sold her without ever having actually examined the Tea Parties for herself.       I don’t care what anyone has to say until I know why I should be listening to them on the subject. Do they have a Phd in Economics…. then I MIGHT be interested in listening to their opinon on the free market. Only formal training in acting? Then why would I care about their comments on anything outside the realm of make believe?!?!?!?

      The politicians have caused most of the current issues and they still managed to somehow target the resulting angst at their opponents. It’s ridiculous.

      Another TV show (Harry’s Law) and actress I will NOT watch .. sad .. I loved Fried Green Tomatoes .. have even been to the Whistle Stop Cafe where they filmed it in Georgia .. now to find out she is just another progressive nut case is disappointing to say the least.

      They had to go put Ted Dancin on my CSI .. pretty soon the only channel I will be watching is the weather channel and I am not so sure about that!

      @NHWinter – Did you forget that the patron saint of todays GOP, Ronnie Reagan, was an actor with no formal edumacation nor credentials other than playing in a film called “Bedtime for Bonzo” with a chimp???? Reagan became governor of CA with absolutely no credentials at all – economic-none, managing one of the largest states-none, his only credential was as an actor and a bad one at that!!!!

      They blame Wall street for the collapse for bundling bad mortgages and selling them. Never ever considering why so many bad mortgages were approved. Bill Clinton and Andrew Coumo ARE THE ROOT CAUSE OF THIS ENTIRE DISASTER. And Congressman like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd were the ones who spearheaded the resistance against finanacal regulations on the housing market starting back in 2001 WHEN BUSH TRIED TO GET REGULATIONS PUT IN PLACE.

      @NHWINTER I completely respect your right to disagree with Kathy’s opinion on this matter, but to think that the “average American” has any more credentials to give political opinions is ludicrous. I’d say that the “average American” doesn’t really care one way or another politically, and only gets information in sound bites from whatever biased cable TV news show they stop at during commercials while “Top Chef” is on. Sad, really.

      I don’t agree with her love affair with Obama but I agree that he–or SOMEBODY, should start charging these bastards; who put up in this economy; with the crimes they committed. I like that much of what she said.

      I didn‘t gree with Bush’s bailouts that he shoved through Congress and I didn‘t agree with Obama’s either. The taxpayer got ripped off by both of them. When, in God’s name, are we going to see justice done to those Rat Bastards who put us where we are now?

      Were the TRUTH to be told, Ms. Bates probably DOES NOT know the views of the Tea Party…can’t say that I disagree with her other comments as to the fact that the American People should not be having to pay for the greed…however, AGAIN, does SHE understand just what led up to ALLOWING the “rat bastards” to do what they did? So you go and punish a few for the politicians who rigged the system? AND, she STILL supports a President who would love to be the first American Dictator?       The American public was complicit with this mess. It takes two to tango! We took loans that if we eventually could not afford to pay back, we’d walk away…what could they do to us was the thinking. Many of my neighbors from a few years ago walked on their homes. I’m still standing. Just as upside down as anyone of them. I’m left holding the bag and the debt. I blame the government first of all, then the banks for knowing what they we doing was dangerous, then the knuckleheads who took on the easy loans enmasse. Many also were corrupting the process by building pyramid schemes with homes esp in my area of Socal. Some couples bought several homes each. All went into foreclosure, some with renters in them.

      What I think is funny, what will they think when they (movie stars) make a movie and they have to send all but the 250,000.00 to the wonderful government. they have no idea what they are backing or why.

      Kathy, you should find out what the TEA party actually does want and stand for before you decide not to support them. even if you don’t support. make sure you know what you are putting down. I am sure she has no idea about the either.

      So when they say something you want to hear, you applaud them. When they say something you disagree with, they are idiots who have no place for an opinion? Even though I disagreed with Victoria Jackson, I still defend her right to say what she wants to say as loudly as she wants to say it. It doesn’t matter what you do for a living in this country or how much or how little income you make. You should still be allowed to say what you want to say. If she isn’t allowed to use her status to speak in front of a camera to millions of people, then Jon Voight should have sat down and shut up in Israel.
      You‘re a hypocrite of the worst kind because it’s someone like you who would consider acting on their feelings if you had any sort of power at all. You make me want to vomit and it’s people like you and those on this board who make me almost regret serving the country that I love so much.     Dear Kathy: These rat bastards on Wall Street contribute heavily to President Obama’s campaign. The rat bastards were told to extend loans by our federal government over the last 25 years to folks who have poor credit scores, low employment, and are poor credit risks. All done in the name of “everyone deserves a home”. Really? Really? The financial crisis was, in part, cause by our own federal government over the last 25 years becoming more and more progressive in their legislation. Barney Frank and Dodd should be jailed. President Bush requested audits of Fannie and Freddie at least 9 times during his presidency because “things did not look right”. Since Wall Street supports President Obama (behind the scenes) please know that no one on Wall Street will be going to jail nor will anyone in the federal administration. They are all in bed together.

      2) Never saw any of her movies unless they were on regular tv channels.

    Um, Obama rushed back to the Senate during the last election campaign to vote for the “bailout” that paid money to well heeled and connected non-capitalist industries.

    I’m watching this stuff in absolute horror. They are pulling out all the stops and recruiting from the bottom of the barrel. They seem to be moving more and more towards the mindless madness of the French Revolution, except of course that this “revolution” is contrived, controlled and carefully directed by power brokers.

      Obama is in bed with Wall St. He can pretend that he isn’t but he is. Wonder who he will choose as the sacrificial lambs to convince us that he isn’t? The Tea Party freaks people out because it calls for people to stand up and speak out. Most are to lazy to pay attention let alone take the time to educate themselves. It also is considered a threat just as the Christians are because they block what the progressives are trying to push through. Kathy Bates is but another brainwashed “I have to save my job” progressive puppet . She wouldn‘t have her carreer if she didn’t. She is using her celebrity status to create fear against the Tea Party and is attempting to lure her fans into the clutches of the progressives. Do any of you see the connection between Sarandons statement about the Pope to the timing of the leaked info of the Popes stand oin Global Governs? She opened the door and Bam this info leaks out. Coincedence? Don’t think so. Little by littel inch by inch more evil rears its ugly face. Though lately the nudge has turned into a forceful shove and the frequencey escalating.

      I think most of us are in favor of prosecuting those that have broken laws… especially with respect to the Wall Street fiasco. However, I don’t know that anyone has established that laws have been broken. Wouldn’t it be better to establish that laws have indeed been broken BEFORE we scream “OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!”?.

      Therein lies the real danger with what we’re seeing. Specifically, that politicians may yield to the mob and bend, twist and contort existing laws to fit a non-existent crime.

      Dangerous stuff.
