Adviser: Romney Would Back Israeli Strike Against Iran

Romney Israel

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, arriving in Israel with wife Ann on July 28, would "respect" a unilateral strike by the Jewish state against Iran to keep it from developing nuclear weapons, a top adviser said Sunday. (AP)

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney would “respect” a unilateral Israeli strike against Iran to keep the country from developing nuclear weapons, a top Romney adviser said Sunday.

(Related: Report: Obama Admin Shared U.S. Contingency Plan for Iran Attack With Netanyahu)

“If Israel has to take action on its own, in order to stop Iran from developing that capability the governor would respect that decision,” foreign policy adviser Dan Senor told reporters in Israel during the candidate’s visit to the Jewish state, CNN reported.

According to Politico, Senor said keeping the threat of a military strike on the table represents the best chance for peace.

“The governor believes that at this point the only thing that could focus and force the minds of the Iranian leadership on ending their nuclear weapons, their path to a nuclear weapons capability, is the belief that the alternative is far worse,” he said.

The Romney campaign subsequently issued a clarification from Senor saying the former Massachusetts governor “believes we should employ any and all measures to dissuade the Iranian regime from its nuclear course, and it is his fervent hope that diplomatic and economic measures will do so.”

“In the final analysis, of course, no option should be excluded. Gov. Romney recognizes Israel’s right to defend itself, and that it is right for America to stand with it,” he said.

The hawkish tone from the Romney camp comes as both he and President Barack Obama vie for Jewish voter support and seek to establish their commitment to Israel: Last week, on the eve of Romney’s overseas tour, Obama signed a $70 million bill in approved funding for Israel’s “Iron Dome” rocket defense system. Additionally, a report in an Israeli newspaper the same weekend as Romney’s trip said the Obama administration has shared its contingency plan for an attack on Iran with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a major foreign policy address scheduled for later Sunday, Romney is expected to state flat-out that preventing a nuclear Iran “must be our highest national security priority.”

“Make no mistake: the ayatollahs in Tehran are testing our moral defenses. They want to know who will object, and who will look the other way,” Romney will say, according to advance excerpts of the address provided by his campaign. “My message to the people of Israel and the leaders of Iran is one and the same: I will not look away, and neither will my country.”

Israel is a tiny but powerful nation. I don’t think they need our help to defeat Iran.
Israel has taken a whole lot of crap from Iran. Israel is getting sick of being pushed around, bullied, and threatened, by Iran.
I stand with Israel. God stands with Israel. They will be victorious.

      Is he on drugs?

If people are following you, are you not the leader?

Mitt Romney is as shallow as President Obama.

Aside from the fact that Israel has endured 60+ years of attacks, killings and woundings inspired by islam, all indicators point to the fact that ISLAM has been at war with the world for 1400+ years. When talking to an islam slave, one will find that the purist islamisist will tell you that the planet exists in two parts….Dar al islam(world of submission) and Dar al Harb(world of war). Our own Thomas Jefferson studied the coran to try to figure out why islamics were attacking American shipping in the Mediterranean. He found that they were simply following the teachings of their “book” and islamisists saw nothing unusual about it at all. War, slavery, robbery, misogyny, destruction and attacks at anything considered “anti-islam“ or ”disrespectful” of some of the stupidest stuff I ever heard of is NORMAL for islam.
Not only is Romney correct about supporting Israel, but what is happening in every islamic area should be motivation to proactively support a Crusade to destroy islam “root and branch”.

However tenuous the alliance is, Mr. Beck has joined forces with Pastor Hagee.
It is Pastor Hagee that says all Jews are going to hell.
It is Pastor Hagee’s mission to convert all Jews to Christianity.
This would wipe Judasim off the face of the earth.

It is Pastro Hagee, Mr. Beck, and his Keys, who are supposed to be like-minded, who are a bigger threat to Israel than Iran could ever be.

“Pastor [whatever his name] needs to review the curses HaShem laid on everybody who curses us. Jews already believe in messiah; they just don’t go for the gentile version of him. Also, many of us do know that Yeshua BenYosef is the Messiah. Lastly Yeshua didn’t teach “Christianity” he taught paleo-Judaism. So Christians need to consider moving away from pagan practices and toward becoming righteous gentiles. Guys like this Hagee exist in every religion. They insist that they have the only shiny key to GanEden, but they are nothing more than blind shepherds. So sorry if that upsets anybody. The truth after 2 millenia of lies from Shaul Ben Yahuda (Paul) on one side and Akiva Ben Josehh on the other have hardened hearts to such an extent that very few will look away from their own dogmas. May your spirit and your soul be blessed. May you have a joyful place in the world to come. May laughter be your song and dancing be your walk. May the only tears you shed be those of overwhelming joy.

The only difference between Judaism and Christianity is that we believe the Messiah has already come. We believe Jesus of Bethlehem (Micah 5:2 “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.”) is the Son of God (Psalms 2:7-8), the Anointed one, the one who is “Ready to Judge”. Jesus is the sin bearer, the Lamb of God (Isaiah 53, . 5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities ; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. 6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way ; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.) Lastly he was crucified as told in Psalms 22:14 “I am poured out like water, And all my bones are out of joint ; My heart is like wax ; It is melted within me. 15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And my tongue cleaves to my jaws ; And You lay me in the dust of death. 16 For dogs have surrounded me; A band of evildoers has encompassed me; They pierced my hands and my feet. 17 I can count all my bones. They look, they stare at me; 18 They divide my garments among them, And for my clothing they cast lots” (this was written 2000 years before the Romans invented crucifixtion). And no…it was not pastor Hagee who said Jesus is the only way…..it was Lion of Judah, Jesus who

Romney merely said that he wouldn‘t stand in Israel’s way, which is far preferable in my opinion than Obama’s tenuous hints of possible military action. Israel needs to know upfront what our position is. Obama saying he’s considering military action with Israel is merely an attempt to stall them.

Iran presently has the 2nd highest population of Jews in the Middle East outside of Israel:

“Following the overthrow of the shah and the declaration of an Islamic state in 1979, Iran severed relations with Israel. The country has subsequently supported many of the Islamic terrorist organizations that target Jews and Israelis, particularly the Lebanon-based, Hezbollah. Nevertheless, Iran’s Jewish community is the largest in the Middle East outside Israel.”

KIDCHARLEMAGNE, please show us anywhere that Iran/Contra was ever proven to be true.
      ==========================

You might as well save the huffing and puffing…..

On March 4, 1987 Ronald Reagan addressed the nation to admit that it was true:

      Ronald Reagan (March 4, 1987 on Iran-Contra)

      (Full transcript of Reagan’s admission):

“Let’s start with the part that is the most controversial. A few months ago I told the American people I did not trade arms for hostages. My heart and my best intentions still tell me that’s true, but the facts and the evidence tell me it is not. As the Tower board reported, what began as a strategic opening to Iran deteriorated, in its implementation, into trading arms for hostages. This runs counter to my own beliefs, to administration policy, and to the original strategy we had in mind. There are reasons why it happened, but no excuses. It was a mistake. I undertook the original Iran initiative in order to develop relations with those who might assume leadership in a post-Khomeini government.”
Address to the Nation on Iran-Contra (March 4, 1987)

Unreal. This is exactly Ron Paul’s position all along – ‘allow Israel to defend itself’. But Ron Paul was criticized and laughed off the stage….WHY THE HYPOCRISY

Since Obama was mentored by Marxists , he probably has no real understanding of the hate which formed alliances behind WWI and II . Am sure he was brainwashed by their anti-imperialism / anti-colonialism typical “ hate the rich ” white guy crap that is at the heart of their envy / revenge filled political philosophy . Philosophies based on hate usually have terrible endings. Wish Obama had studied more history and less community organizing ! ( will we ever know what he really did study ???)

And President Obama just sold Israel $73 million worth of more weapons to do it.

    They are the same guy.

Mr. Beck has said he opposes any further arm sales to Israel.

Theblaze corrected their previous heard error and acknowledged that Iran never said they intended to wipe Israel off the map.

Why support another war based on false premises. That’s not leadership. That’s war profiteering.

This is what Obama has offered Israel, same as Japan, Egypt (under Mubarak), Saudi Arabia, and Iraq… the BIG chill… while China, Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood and Russia have received reassurance and “reset.”

Obama regardless of any arms sale would sell Israel down the river if push comes to shove.

Iran now says they did not say that they intend to wipe Israel off the map ??!! Ho. Ho. Apparently, Iran must be studying Obama campaign tapes ! In the Land of Smoke and Mirrors , in the Land of Big Lies, one can say one did NOT say what one actually is taped saying ! Guess that is why Muslims like Obama and his Far Lefties : they speak the same language . ( We used to call it lying . Like we used to call “ redistribution ” stealing ! Strange moral code in this Orwellian Far Left / Islamic fanatic world ! They will make great partners . Sort of like Hitler and Stalin made great partners. Unified in hate . )

I didn’t vote for President Obama.

The Whirling Dervishes for Ron Paul will soon be in (aside from insulting any potential Romney voter) to declare that Romney is only reiterating what Ron Paul has been stating all along (not to mention that Ron Paul loves him some Israel)… for America to stop being Israel‘s puppet master and unleash the might of Israel on her enemies if that’s what Israel desires.

Difference between what Romney is stating and what Ron Paul or his aPaulogists would do… is born out in the last paragraph here of Romney’s statement…”I will not look away, and neither will my country.”

First of all JUST… screw Russia and China… it’s TIME_2_TAKE_A_STAND… we will get blamed in the Muslame world anyways if Israel attacks Iran, or no matter what we did/do to try and dissuade them. We DID have Iran flanked (Iraq/Afghanistan), so that would have been in OUR (and Israel’s) favor if we needed to help them out. And it’s only a matter of time before they do (mark my words) that Israel attempts to take out Iran nuclear capabilites.

Israel probably can do much damage to Iran’s nuclear program, but a strike likely would only set it back three to five years at best unless the Israelis get considerable help from us or others in the Arab world (many who see the Persians as mortal enemies anyways). Israel has great human intelligence and a “competent weapons” program, but they cannot match us in overhead imagery, electronic surveillance and creating weapons that can penetrate underground to get at hardened facilities. In addition, we have a capacity to do in-flight refueling and rescue downed aircrews, both of which would be of invaluable aid in an Israeli strike.

I say… GO FOR IT and get behind Israel Militarily… screw the Russian and Chinese and let the chips fall where they may. It’s time.

You made a good point about everyone assuming we would be involved in an Israeli unilateral attack on Iran, and I’m not a fan of Russia and China either. Still this war has been planned for a long time and I really don’t think it has anything to do with their nuclear program. Do you think God will protect Israel?

SOY, Didn’t see your comment… there was JUST‘s then all of a sudden your’s appeared before it.

Ron Paul can state that he’s a friend to Israel all he wants, but the published record stands. He views Israel as the catalyst for 9/11, defends Iran’s innocence, parrots the anti-Israeli propaganda of Hamas, and upholds an anti-Zionist organization that views Israel as an oppressive, illegitimate state. That is not a friend, or even being a cheerleader for Israel… he would turn a blind eye to whatever Israel does and be the “do-nothing” ahem, “non-interventinist” that he is and let Israel be wiped off the map if it can‘t hold it’s own. His anti-Semitic Libertarian ideology stinks to high Heaven. He also felt the same way about Jews in Europe during WWII based on what some close to him and VERY informed have stated. He wouldn’t have helped them either if he had his way. Screw Ron Paul and those that pimp for him….
