Afghan Man Arrested for Cutting Off Daughter-in-Law’s Nose and Ears

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The father-in-law of a young Afghan woman who said her nose and ears were sliced off to punish her for running away from her violent husband has been arrested, officials said Wednesday.
The woman, Aisha, gained worldwide attention when she appeared on the Aug. 9 cover of Time magazine.
Under orders from a Taliban commander acting as a judge, she was disfigured last year as punishment for fleeing her husband’s home, according to Time’s story in August and other accounts.
Just 18 years old at the time, Aisha said she ran away to escape her in-laws’ beatings and abuse.
Gen. Juma Gul Himat, provincial police chief of Uruzgan province, said Aisha’s father-in-law was arrested 12 days ago on charges of disfiguring Aisha and of being part of a Taliban network in the area, involved in several attacks against the police.
He identified the father-in-law as Mohammad Sulaiman and said he had confessed. The Interior Ministry confirmed the arrest.
Sulaiman was being held in jail in Uruzgan province.
Aisha was sent to Los Angeles over the summer for reconstructive surgery. In September, she was fitted with a temporary, prosthetic nose so she could visualize what she would look like and to help build her confidence.

The only way to stop this barbaric thinking is to destroy them and eliminate the mindset. It’s the fault of those that pervert the religion to their own destructive means. There are bad actors in every religion. Don’t take the easy way out and blame the tenets of the religion. There will always be things that you disagree with in a religion (including other Christian sects) but its always those that kill, maim, torture, etc in the name of their religion and God that are to solely blame. At least that’s how I feel. For what its worth, I have quite a few Muslim friends that live here and abroad, including Muslim countries, and they react the same way that we do to these stories – they hang their heads in shame and wonder what can be done to punish and stop these people. They’re as pissed as you are because they know that no God would support disfiguring a woman for leaving her abusive husband. Only a psychopath does something like that.

Neither Christian (nor Jewish) beliefs require such actions in order to be a good practitioner. Islam and its founder Mohammed are the product of a violent and uncivilized culture which cannot seem to even recognize its own wrongdoing.

It involves a victim of the filthy barbarians we are fightinging in Afghanistan. It shows how we as a nation and a people are helping individually as well as in the whole war effort. This fits in with the whole “Why we fight” narrative. I don‘t get how you don’t get that.
Plus it’s always good to see mercy and grace shown to victims of tragedy and evil.

How many thousand more women have to submit to torture perpetrated by the men of Afghanistan under sharia law? “Stay and let me beat you because if you dare leave, I will find you, I will cut off your nose and ears.
