Newt Gingrich on Friday slammed his GOP presidential rivals for pulling out of a planned debate in Georgia, accusing them of being “afraid” to take him on.
“The average Georgian is going to say, the average Ohioan is going to say, `Let me get this straight. They won’t come here to debate but they want my vote?’” Gingrich told supporters at a campaign stop in Peachtree City, Ga., according to the Associated Press. “Anybody who‘s afraid of debating Newt Gingrich isn’t going to be in very good shape to debate Barack Obama.”
As The Blaze previously reported, CNN announced Thursday it was canceling its March 1 debate in Atlanta after Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul pulled out.
“With eight other states voting on March 6, we will be campaigning in other parts of the country and unable to schedule the CNN Georgia debate,” Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said. “We have participated in 20 debates, including eight from CNN.”
Santorum and Paul similarly said they would not be participating.
As the AP noted, CNN’s cancellation is a particular blow for Gingrich, who has consistently performed well in debates and is counting on a strong showing on Super Tuesday, March 6. The former House Speaker has said winning his home state of Georgia is “crucial” to keeping his presidential campaign afloat.
Gingrich also took time to blasted ads run by the pro-Romney super PAC Restore Our Future, which has spent millions on negative spots against Gingrich and Santorum.
“You can‘t hide behind millions of dollars in negative ads and think you’re going to win the presidency,” Gingrich said. “I think there is a declining impact of totally false ads, and I think you’re going to see as Romney applies the same technique at Santorum, a general revulsion against this kind of purely negative campaigning.”

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 12:09pmNewt knows debates are his strong point. Without them before Super Tuesday his chances are slim.
His opponents know this as well. And for the most part the debates aren’t for informing anyone anymore. The main stream media is not interested in informing you.
All the candidates have good and bad points. Any one of them would be better than what we have in office now.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 12:16pmThe only way that candidates can speak over the media’s messages are the debates. No debates, fewer debates, the media wins.
More debate is better than less debate. Those who fear debate, fear challenge. The manipulators are those who canceled a commitment, and those wanting less knowledge, not more.

Mitt’s Bumpy Ride In Michigan
by JEN KUZNICKI on FEBRUARY 19, 2012
Mitt Romney’s literature and signs have been at every Republican event for years. He had quite an organization in 2008 with signs that said, “Michigan for Mitt,” with the cute reference of the appearance of the lower peninsula being a mitten, and Mitt’s name, well, it’s just precious.
But here we are, 9 days from Michigan’s Presidential Primary, which the GOP in Michigan moved up and lost half of it’s delegates as a result, and now Mitt has to actually compete.
Mitt lost Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, South Carolina, and Minnesota, and may lose Maine. He has so far won New Hampshire, Nevada and Florida.

It is time to put this junk behind us and get behind Newt. He is the only one that really says not only what the problem is, but how to fix it, because whether anyone realizes it or not, this Progressive thing is nothing more than a softer and internal repeat of the Cold War Communist threat. Newt understands this, the others don’t.
Everyone makes it sound like Newt lied about his marriages and stuff, which he hasn’t. So he has been divorced and remarried, sorry, a majority of us have done this, nothing hidden, sometimes relationships don’t last forever (wish they did, but they don’t).
Big government? Big government? We literally have less than four years before we are going to be Greece, two years to be in the mix like Europe, and the others may slow down the inevitable, Newt is downright scared to be like Europe and will make a dramatic and instant change in all directions for the better. He has proven the ability to do it, he has plans for every contingency and they are all in line with the direction I also think the country should go to fix the Marxist we have in office right now.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 12:23pmHUCKABEE. Ron Paul’s peeps are all woody-ish by the “leave me alone” candidate who thinks the rest of the world is not our business. Apparently they share Paul’s indifference to pretty much anything and everything whether it be radical Islamic terrorism, Iran or the moon.
Like the left and “it’s” educational system (where most of the young Paul supporters get their initial indoctrination which lingers), self centered materialism is leading our youth to support such indifference to global realities, vision (like the moon and beyond) and is also driving collapse of the American family in the long run.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 3:43pmThe article’s constitutional argument is confusing.
It starts off with Lew Rockwell saying the “[the Constitution] represented a vast increase in government power and that this was its true purpose.” This is true. Under the Articles of Confederation the Fed could barely raise enough money to pay for itself, and wasn’t able to raise enough money to fulfill its obligations to British established by the treaty nor pay for promised veteran pensions. Then argues, “It created a powerful central government, with the cover of liberty as an excuse.” I don‘t know that I’d phase it that way. They realize the fed needed more power, because of the reasons listed above, but I wouldn’t have argued that they used liberty as a guise to dupe the people.
It appears the main point of the article seems to be, that because Ron Paul’s congressional chief of staff from 1978 to 1982 is off HIS rocker so is RP. “The man is beyond the pale, and the only possible justification for someone supporting Ron Paul after becoming familiar with Lew Rockwell is that one just does not believe that the two are one and the same. But this is an irrefutable fact.” The problem is he really doesn’t do a good job proving it. He references one conversation he had with Paul after 9/11. I’ve heard that argument before, and I’ve also heard what Ron Paul said about 9/11 with my own ears.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 11:50pmEveryone needs to understand this: If Paul is not the nominee, four more years of Obama, period. I live in a Dem state and I hear from a large majority of Dems that they would vote for Paul if he is the nominee, but they will not vote for any of the other GOP candidates. Paul supporters will not vote for any of the other GOP candidates and will write Pauls name in to send a message to the GOP. Watch this Valentines Day Mone Bomb ad so that you understand the Paul supporter mindset: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OV8RSgCr2g&feature=youtu.be
The GOP cannot win without the disenfranchised Obama voters and the Paul supporters, the math will not work. We are adamant about this. We will not vote big government progressive. We will npt vote Palin, Bush, Christie or any other candidate. This is a principled decision and we will not stand for Time 2′s agenda.

Ooooooof course not. And THAT’S why Obama would win, because our party refuses to unite.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 12:02pmConservatives can continue to hear Republican candidates (and differing caller comments), like Santorum, on talk radio channels. Not all conservatives are for Santorum because of his religious fundamentalist (far-right, dogmatic, uncompromising, unreasonable) beliefs, even though they like him for other reasons. You have both moderate and ultra-right conservatives who don’t agree on the controversial issues of the day…a fact of life in our pluralistic republic.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 2:21pmThe problem with BHO was most people didn’t speak Progressive so it sounded good. The Salynski art of changing the meaning of common words to mean something else caught a lot of people off guard and now we are paying for it. When Newt says we lower taxes and then fit the government size to the amount of revenues brought in, not tax people to the point the government increases, well, he means it, he’s done it, he will do it again. BHO says he won’t raise taxes one single time on anyone making $250,000 or more means he will jack the taxes up on everyone above that, and small business will increase the cost of everything to make up for it (see how that works?).
If we want the country we grew up in, Newt will get us there, Mitt will simply stabilize us right where we are, but I don’t think that will happen because BHO will beat him just like the last two Moderate Republicans, McCain and Dole. Time to get another ballbuster conservative in there, maybe even weed out and expose more of the RINOs which are doing nothing but hurting this country. I have visited Europe and I do have to say, it is not the kind of country I would want to live in, so we really need to do a complete 180 from BHO, and Newt will make that happen.
