Agenda 21 Update: Family Farms Are Under Attack

Is the US government starting to implement the policies of the United Nation’s plan for global management of people and resources known as Agenda 21?  The latest efforts out of the Department of Transportation (DOT) seem to indicate this is happening. And they are starting by targeting America’s farming communities with costly and oppressive regulations.

In Late May, the DOT proposed a rule change for farm equipment, and if it this allowed to take effect, it will place significant regulatory pressure on small farms and family farms all across America – costing them thousands of dollars and possibly forcing many of them out of business. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), part of the Department of Transportation (DOT), wants new standards that would require all farmers and everyone on the farm to obtain a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) in order to operate any farming equipment. The agency is going to accomplish this by reclassifying all farm vehicles and implements as Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs).

(It is also important to note here that DOT Secretary Ray LaHood holds a seat on the newly created White House Rural Council. A powerful group whose members have ties to George Soros and The Center For American Progress.)

The move by the DOT appears to be “legislation through regulation.” By reclassifying all farm vehicles and implements as Commercial Vehicles, the federal government will now be able to claim regulatory control over the estimated 800,000 farm workers in America, at the same time, overriding the rights of the states.

This proposed change literally means family farms could no longer legally allow young workers, not old enough to drive and seniors who no longer drive on the public streets, to operate a tractor… even on the family’s private property.

Waco, TX television station KXXV has the story:

The proposed change also means ANYONE driving a tractor or operating any piece of motorized farming equipment would be forced to pass the same rigorous tests and fill out the same detailed forms and diaries required of semi-tractor trailer drivers. This reclassification would bury small farms and family farms in regulation and paperwork.

Some of the additional paperwork and regulation required:

  • Detailed logs would need to be kept by all drivers – hours worked, miles traveled, etc.
  • Vehicles would have to display DOT numbers
  • Drivers would need to pass a physical as well as a drug test – every two years.

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation (WFBF) is one of many farm organizations not happy about the idea and has sent the DOT a letter expressing this opinion:

“WFBF opposes any change in statue or regulatory authority that would reclassify implements of husbandry or other farm equipment as Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs)”

WFBF Director of Governmental Relations Karen Gefvert continues, explaining the excessive cost to farmers if this allowed to move forward:

“The proposed guidance by the FMCSA would result in an initial increased cost to each Wisconsin farmer and employee of $124 just for the CDL license, permit and test; not to mention the time and cost for the behind-the-wheel training that is several thousand dollars.”

Additionally, Illinois farmers believe this regulation will also force new restrictions on trucks used in crop-share hauling. (One estimate claims more than 30% of Illinois farmers utilize shared land.) These crop-share trucks are typically limited-use vehicles that often travel fewer than 3000 miles each year, mainly hauling crops from the fields to nearby grain elevators. To require them to follow the same rules as semis would also mean a farmer would be forced to purchase substantial insurance.

The Hancock Journal-Pilot covered the story:

Earlier this year, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) began to define crop-share tenant farmers as “for-hire“ carriers and implements of husbandry as ”commercial motor vehicles.“ The ”for-hire” designation for crop-share tenant farmers would have a dramatic effect on farmers because it voids exemptions from the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program and would require a minimum of $750,000 in insurance coverage for the farmer.

The DOT is holding hearings for public comment on the topic, but only through Monday, August 1st and farmers all across the country are rightfully concerned. No matter what the feedback is from the people who actually grow the food, it appears that the DOT’s mind is made up. Just last week, DOT Administrator Anna Ferro posted an Op-Ed addressing the controversial regulation. The opinion piece closes with this statement:

Everyone in this Administration – from President Obama, Vice President Biden, and Secretary LaHood on down – is committed to the long-term success of America’s agricultural industry. In many ways, agriculture is the backbone of our economy – feeding hundreds of millions of Americans and billions more around the world. As the largest user of freight transportation in the nation, the agricultural industry is also one of USDOT’s most important constituents. We hope that this comment period is the start of a new and productive relationship. We may not ultimately agree on every issue, but we will always listen — and do our best to help America’s farmers succeed.

(A personal aside, when someone tells you, “We may not ultimately agree on every issue, but we will always listen… ” it has always been my experience that they are going to do whatever they wanted to do in the first place. The “listening” was just to make you feel better.)

The FMCSA has said their intent is to create uniformity in how federal safety regulations are carried out across America. The farming community and many of the states that would be affected by this change feel differently. Almost to a man, the farming community believes this to be a local issue, best handled by state governments, and not some Washington DC agency.

      Maybe all the good farmers should sell their “commercial vehicles” and buy an ox and a good plow that they can walk behind. They can harvest their small crop by hand like they used to back in the good old days.

      According to Jim Rogers, the average US farmer is approaching retirement age. If the Progs can get death tax raised so that farms cannot be passed on to younger generations, then they can guarantee food shortages and much, much, higher food costs. The socialist utopia knocking on your door.

      Hey OldTrucker, many European and third world farmers still do it that way today. They can‘t afford the Caterpillar harvestor or the John Deere Thresher that our larger farmers borrow money for so that Obama’s and Soros‘ sorry stomachs don’t go empty.

      What would happen if they just stopped producing all together like they did in the 30′s with the Milk rebellion when subsidies were going to be taken away from dairy farmers. It would create chaos in the world since we, the US Agricultural Society (farmers), could not produce the grains needed to feed the worlds poor.

      It would send the world into another Crisis like it did in the 1930′s and it is what a lot of Wars around the world are fought for, SURVIVAL of the POWERFUL on the backs of the poor.

      Cass Sustein would not know how to survive if he did not have a gun to point at someone or if he had to rely on his own ingenuity to find edible food for himself out in the world of devestation that is going to follow his policy. Even SATAN will destroy Sustein.

      My sons were smart this year and joined the government program and signed up into the C.R.A.P. ( conservation something??) program – you get paid not to farm. This is almost 1000 acres out of production. It was a good thing because of the drought all the other farmers lost all their crops here in Oklahoma. What corn the country has will be burned in your car. We bought 25 cases of canned corn since there wont be any in the grocery stores pretty soon. If all the farmers sign up it might get Washingtons attention.

      My sons were smart and joined the government program C.R.A.P. (stands for conservation something ???). They get paid not to farm and this took 944 acres out of production. All our neighbors lost everythin because of the drought – no crops – no hay and most have sold their cows. What corn is produced will be burned in your cars. We bought 25 cases of canned corn ( 4 families) since soon there will be none in the grocery stores. If all the farmers sign up it will get Washingtons attention. Soon the world will want to swap a barrel of oil for a couple of bushels of corn or grain but we won’t have any produce to swap.

      Now they attack the heartland to destroy our farms so we can’t feed ourselves (population control through starvation like stalin and mao). Well, I have a couple of tillers and will be getting a couple more, I will till an acre plus land every year to harvest enough food for my family and enough seed for the following year. After that, if anything is left over I will share it with those I can, but I will take care of my family first. Big brother needs a kick in the balls and then needs to be castrated.

      Ok let’s talk Rick Perry Sep 1 2009 He signed a law for Texas turning over all Texas DOT regulation to the feds. We no longer use a Texas DOT number we only use US DOT numbers and yes we have to follow all the feds regulation. But that is just the tip of it then he sent out people to make sure you were up on the regulation – without informing anyone on the change. It only cost my 4 trucks $2300.00.

      This nonsensical, hare-brained scheme will go nowhere unless the community organizer gets re-elected and the Republicans lose both houses. If that would be the case, look out, because there are FAR, FAR worse things than this coming down the pike.

      The country is breaking apart and I truly believe we are headed directly for civil war no matter who is elected in 2012, but if the Obamanation gets back in it will occur MUCH faster.

      And, don’t dismiss the possibility he could very well get re-elected. Look at his poll numbers now. He’s screwed up the economy big time and brought race relations to a boil, yet his approval rating is still at 40%.

      There’s just too many foolish whites in this country to write this guy off no matter how bad he continues screwing up.

      As a poster said earlier, it would be best to have a voluntary separation of the country, rather than civil war, but that has no chance at all of happening.

You do understand our SOCIALISTIC leaning gov’t under Obama is wanting to eventually starve us out (kinda like the poor folks in Africa), because that way they can gain control over all of us.

      I’m beginning to believe some of these posts are deliberate lies planted by Koch brothers operatives. What middle class person could actually believe this? The rich are getting richer and the rest of us are going backward. Corporate profits are at all time highs and the markets have almost recovered. The middle class has 16% unemployment and flat wages for over a decade. Low taxes on the rich do not create jobs except overseas. They do allow them to own multiple homes, yachts, have servents (who pay higher percentage of their income in taxes), etc.

      we have owned a semi for over the road and I can tell you that this will cost every farmer over 20,000 a truck to get running with ins and regs. and then an additional 500 bux a year for the federal highway use tax then get the truck inspected each year and the farmer forced to fix even the smallest of things that don’t mean anything to a farm truck. Not to mention if they reclassify the trucks they will have to buy diesel fuel instead of farm fuel which will smack a farmer in the wallet BIG TIME. oh then there is the ins fee each year the tag fee for tractor and trailer and the log books and you have to hire someone to keep up with the DOT regs and administer drug test and maintain every trucks log in case of suprise visit from the DOT…..this is why owner operators are falling by the wayside and our goods cost so much (the price of everything you buy is dependant of fuel cost). This is just DISGUSTING

All of us in all community’s need to Nullify these laws.When you are called to serve on a jury, take the initiative, has that person hurt anyone, does it sound as stupid and tyrannical as this one . then give them a not guilty verdict . If they can’t get a conviction they will stop wasting their time looking.

      Hey Guys, Lets use the Social Media against them, post the Agenda 21 Youtube and other videos to your facebook page. We must get the word out to the masses, and using the weapon of social media is a great way to do it, Lets use the tools against them.

      On another note, I started a YouTube account the other night to post political dissent against the UN, Agenda 21 and the globalist. I couldn’t believe all the information they wanted about me. I almost didn’t do it but it is my sacrifice to help turn this mess around. I am also launching several websites that will coincide with the YouTube channel in hopes of keeping the information out there. There may come a day soon where the web gets scrubbed of any dissent, So I will simply give them more to scrub!

      There will most likely be a food shortage, so you are wise in stocking up. However, the corn that you are describing that most farmers grow and is used for fuel is field corwn. This corn would never be used for human consumption. Sweet corn is used for human consumption and canners have very specific guidelines (even without the government!) as to how their product is grown and by whom. We farm over 2000 acres in Missouri and know the trials of farming (and we do it without any government payments). These regulations are scary stuff.

      You can take your CDL regulations proposal and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. You have no right to “regulate” how we use our tools/machines on our PRIVATE property.       This is clearly another attack on our freedom in America and an attempt to destroy our nation. These and other coming regulations will only raise food prices drastically and garantee a shortage of food in America, for the first time in our history. What’s behind this is the fundamental transformation of America through a government controlled coop communistic farming society ? All financial transactions and production will be strictly controlled by government. Govrnment control of our food supply, medical care and fuel sources will pretty much lead to the control of everything. Farmers need to drive their fsarm impliments to Washington DC and block the city in protest and other patriotic Americans need to watch thier backs. That’s what they do in France, Germany and England and their voices and grievances are heard.

      Obama’s strangle hold tactics by his executive orders are going to speed up the demise of our democracy and capitalism in the USA. He’s becoming bolder with his tactics, leaving no doubt that his intentions are not for the best interest of our country. He has been indoctrinated in communism from childhood. ALL of his mentors were and are self proclaimed communist. They taught their BOY well !

      “ Watch the other hand ”. The debates and wranglings in congress and the senate over the raising of the debt ceiling is just a smoke screen. While total attention of the American people and politicians is being given to the financial crisis and threat of losing our AAA credit rating, Obama is slipping things like Project 21 into law unawares. Complete control of our food production is a serious threat to our very lives. I’m not going to be too concerned about what the World Bank thinks about our credit rating when a loaf of bread costs $10.00 and a galon of milk sells for $25.00 and neither will you.

      As a commercial truck driver I find this proposed action by the Feds “STUPID”!! This is nothing more than another way to gain revenue and take control of another part of our “AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE”. These People are working thier A$$s off to feed us. They are not cruising down the highways to get to thier local WalMart to go shoping but crossing rural roads from one field to the next. If this becomes law many Farmers will also be required to get a “HAZ MAT” endorsment because they pull auxilery tanks of fuel and fertilizer and the process for this is a FEDERAL background check and have thier FINGER PRINTS taken ( oh ya and another $90.00 or more!). It simply amazes me that anybody with a valid drivers license(no mater what your age) can jump behind the wheel of a 40ft. RV pulling a car or trailer and crisscross our Country with NO special license or permits but you want AMERICAS FARMERS to jump backwards through firery hoops just to line your pockets and increase your Global Control!!!

      Oldtruckers, are you union? The farmer that uses an ox will be able to feed his family alone. What they are actually trying to do is unionize the farmers. What ever happened to “private property”? When we were kids we could drive a tractor if we were old enough to see what we were doing. This country is nuts! I for one would love to see ALL farmers quit farming before allowing the government to take over there lives like this. It’s not like there is many things at walmart that is grown in this country anyway! Most of the fuits and veggies come from Mexico and China nowadays anyway.

      Humph. This would be alarming, if the Administration wasn’t so transparent. As it is, such wrong headed actions are to be expected. They have degenerated to the point that they’ve become amusing, and not to be taken seriously.

      Personally, I doubt that these potential regulations will stand. The farm lobby is still a force to be reckoned with. Even if the Obama administration is down with this foolishness, Congress will not be. There are legislative methodologies to deal with administrative dementia.

      @corbecket, You are right….but still the attempt is just plain harassment. This administration need to be shown the door, immediately. I talked to all the farmers around here, universally we all decided we would not comply. No sheriff in this area would stop any farm implement or truck in the first place. They don’t need any more trouble than they currently enjoy. The state carrier enforcement is very thin in this area, once again, they would be walking into a firestorm EVERY TIME they pulled someone over. If they happened to pull over one of the farm kids……a swarm of locals would escalate the situation beyond anything reasonable. They don‘t need that and wouldn’t insert themselves into a situation like that.

      2) The only reason to be armed is in service of that state.

      I can appreciate your comment of ABSURD, couched in a patently Subjective Assessment. But I assure you that NONE of this is evenly remotely Absurd to Soros and the Money Jews in this country. This will come to pass, but in a very watered down “Compromise” that maybe ONLY those farm folks driving trucks/trailers have to get the CDL etc. right now. But just like the EPA, and the DEA, and the FBI and the ATF, the DOT will start “Expanding” the rules, to close “Loopholes” and “Enhance” the old rules with completely new interpretations. Before long, they will be requiring a License and Permits to milk the cow, collect the eggs or ship the tomatoes.

      INCREMENTAL ENSLAVEMENT, Eternal Rents and Perpetual Usery. The Dream of the Chosen People (COMMUNISTS) for 4000 years now. They’ve been working hard on it in this country for the last hundred years or so, and pretty close now to getting what they “Think” they want.

      My parents told me what was going to happen, 50+ years ago and WHO was behind it, and ALL of it has come to pass and more.       Lets add to this the Federal Motor Carrier Administration implimented what they call CSA2010. Wants this program is fully implimented there have been estimates of up to 200,000 CDL (commercial drivers license) holders will loose there jobs. Just another bloated regulated government program that kills jobs and puts more government bueracrats on the payroll. Dayum Government has gone rogue. WE NEED A REVOLUTION, THE BALLET BOX dont mean a hill of beans anymore when you have a socialist in charge regulating thru excutive orders.
