Agenda 21 Update: Labor Dept. Withdraws Child Labor Restrictions in Farm Bill

The Department of Labor (DOL) has apparently heard the voice of the American farmer (and the American people) and backed off its plan to restrict or severely limit family members under the age of 16 from working on family farms.
The news was posted following extensive coverage on The Blaze and other sites, tens of thousands of comments posted on the DOL’s website, and after a bi-partisan group of 98 Senators and Congressmen sent letters to Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, protesting the planned action.
The original rule claimed to be “protecting” young people. However, it was so restricting that minors working on their family’s farms would not even be allowed to use a battery-powered screwdriver or a pressurized garden hose.
From the DOL statement:
“…the Department of Labor is announcing today the withdrawal of the proposed rule dealing with children under the age of 16 who work in agricultural vocations.
“The decision to withdraw this rule – including provisions to define the ‘parental exemption’ – was made in response to thousands of comments expressing concerns about the effect of the proposed rules on small family-owned farms. To be clear, this regulation will not be pursued for the duration of the Obama administration.”
Many in the farming world were pleased with the promise that the push to ban younger family members from working on family farms would be taken off the table for the “duration of the Obama administration.”
Senator John Thune of South Dakota, and a member of the Senate Agricultural Committee posted this statement on the news of the dropped restrictrictions:
“I am pleased to hear the Obama Administration is finally backing away from its absurd 85 page proposal to block youth from participating in family farm activities and ultimately undermine the very fabric of rural America, but I will continue working to ensure this overreaching proposal is completely and permanently put to rest,” said Thune. “The Obama DOL’s youth farm labor rule is a perfect example of what happens when government gets too big.”
For almost a year, The Blaze has been covering the multi-pronged attack on America freedom known as Agenda 21. As this UN-driven plan for global socialization and more centralized control of land, energy, food sources, and ultimately all people, moves closer to celebrating its 20th anniversary, we expect additional regulations will be proposed, designed to nudge America closer to the goals of the AG21 supporters.
And we will be watching and reporting as needed.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 4:10pmThink about how many more Trillions he’ll spend! As far as this Bill. Most kids I grew up with were farmers and its a disgrace to think that our Govt would step into and say these kids can’t do anything on the farm! These kids I grew up with were masters of Hard Work! Not only were they Hard workers they’re grades were way better than most city kids! These same friends learned about Economics, Agriculture, Animals, and at the same time worked harder than ever! I see articles on the Blaze about kids throwing rocks at priests, being thugs in the streets, hating other people of different races, and all our Govt. can do is tell these hard working farm kids; hey you can’t work and learn great work Ethics! O.M.G. this Administration has got to go! Obama’s Administration are evil PR_CKS. Whats next, Obama saying they can’ have Cows, Pigs, Sheep and other animals on the Farm? Oh thats right we need to stop eating meat and cheese. When do you think the Obama admin will tell the farmers they need to pay for Animals using up Oxygen? Let alone Al Gore and the UN telling us we need to pay for the Air we breath!….

Why? Your friends are not grades. They were getting grades.
You are = you’re; they are = they’re.
Something belonging to me = my, mine; to you = your, yours; to them = their, theirs.
Thanks for attention.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 10:53amThe pivot point here was that WE THE PEOPLE were voicing our opinions in writing and in phone calls to the DOJ as well as our congress people and senators. Far too often we are too “busy” or too lazy to do that … and that is exactly why we have these communists in our White House, Schools, Universities, and government today. We had better learn and learn quick that this is the ONLY WAY we will non-violently take our country back!

Report Post »This admin. has a love & hate relationship with different groups of citizens in the country. They have contempt for the “rich” but love the $$. Like the owner of a pig & said they loved the pig so much they didn’t have the heart to kill him in one final swoop. Each time a neighbor saw the pig in a corral, there was something “missing” but the pig was still “alive”. This admin. LOVES the 1% pig because they need the pig to stay alive & “just eat him alittle at a time”.
This business of taking a “chain-saw” to the Heartland of America….their AGENDA was not printed…just that they were concerned for the safety of the children. GIVE ME A BREAK! The OWS is serving their purpose & agenda so will not step-in for the safety of the children. And the beat goes on!

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 9:53amSpank, et al I hear your pain and agree but will not vote for Romney. I am for the first time in my life not a Repub. I voted as a delegate in Colo. convention for Paul. I have no illusions. Let me make a case for any thing but Romney.
Report Post »Why vote for the slower train going to the same station. They (Rinos and Dem) need to know it aint workin now. Yes with this attitude we will get O for 4 more but he will be hamstrung by a strong congress. Lets start forming the TEA party now. We can survive O but the war has been engaged. If we vote for Rom then no war…we will just win a little. They are still there.
At any rate I am sad and pray for the USA. ROM 8:28

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 11:49pmThank you kind sir. Ron Paul is the only candidate for liberty.
Report Post »I have seen how the establishment has cheated and broke the law countless times to keep Ron Paul out. Voter fraud is deplorable.
You Romney people support this cheating huh? You are the problem.
You figured we would vote for your candidate just to avoid Obama?
You thought wrong. Remember Mc Cain?
How’s that working for you?
I will never vote for the lesser of 2 evils again.
We will write in Ron Paul if we have to.
You will learn to give us a real conservative candidate or suffer under the libbs till you do.

Posted on April 28, 2012 at 1:09pmozz, there won’t be a real conservative left to vote for after the second 0bamao term, in fact, there may not be another election for a long time.
Let me use your train analogy. It is easy to stop a slow moving train and put it on reverse before the spot that would end up in a train wreck, but with fast moving train, you may not have a chance to prevent the accident.
Make sure that in other fall elections (congress, state, local) you vote conservatives and hold your nose, and work on electing real conservative after Romney.

Posted on April 28, 2012 at 1:29pmAlso, a friend of mine is working in, what he calls political intel (embedded deeply in enemy territory), and he stated that the marching orders for Dem operatives are to troll on conservative sites with the “real conservative” canard, to persuade conservatives to stay away from elections. So, I have to wonder if many of these using that contention aren’t really Dembots.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 9:19amI’m a city slicker who moved to a small town when I was 15. I met a lot of kids who were my age or younger and were given a few acres of their own to work. They were only teenagers, and they were buying cars (used cars, but still), clothes, cds, all the crap that kids buy. Until I got my McJob I was totally dependent on my folks for money. The point is, farm kids get an education at a much earlier age than most of us about hard work, managing resources and money, the costs of doing business, etc… If everyone worked a farm at a young age this country would be much better off.
