Al Gore’s Climate Advocacy Group Posts Rebuttal Billboard Defending Belief in Global Warming

Just a couple weeks ago, The Heartland Institute launched a controversial campaign using digital billboards in Chicago where it would soon be hosting its Seventh International Conference on Climate Change. The billboard project, which compared belief in global warming as an extremist position like some of those held by mass murderers and terrorists, was ended within 24 hours of its posting.

Now, Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project has sponsored its own digital billboard as a response to Heartland’s provocative stint. The New York Times’ Green blog reports the billboard, managed by Clear Channel, states “Who to believe on climate? Heartland … or EVERY National Scientific Academy in the world?” The Times reports Chief Executive of Climate Reality Project Maggie Fox saying the organization’s message serves as “a small reminder of who is really on the fringe.”

The Times also reports another group was vying for the position. Forecast the Facts came up with its own billboard, which Clear Channel decided it would not post for trademark reasons. This billboard said “We still support Climate Deniers. Do you?” and featured the pharmaceutical company Pfizer’s logo along with the amount of its donation to Heartland. Spokesperson for Clear Channel Jim Cullinan told the Times there are legal reasons regarding the use of the Pfizer logo that prevented that billboard from going up.
Forecast the Facts told the Times it was disappointed its ad was rejected:
“I’m sure that if we had wanted to run an ad that says ‘trees smell nice’ or something, they probably would have let us run that — but who knows,” said Brad Johnson, its campaign manager.

“Our goal was to highlight Pfizer and other corporations’ support of the Heartland Institute,” Mr. Johnson said. “The question to ask is whether these corporations are based on a foundation of science or on a foundation of profit.”

Although Heartland was strongly criticized for its campaign, Jim Lakely, the director of communications, said in a statement the organization makes no apology for it and that it was purposely provocative.
“We know that our billboard angered and disappointed many of Heartland’s friends and supporters, but we hope they understand what we were trying to do with this experiment,” Lakey said earlier this month. He also said that Heartland would be looking for more ways to to “communicate this ‘realist’ message on the climate.”

As far as Global Warming, why don’t they ask China if they did a Geological study for the three rivers gorges dam! Then they can pop off about this stuff. I saw a report that said the middle earth is heating up melting Glaciers from the Bottom up! Thats why we are seeing more Volcanoes erupt. Also with the 3 rivers gorges China’s dam, take a piece of plywood “the Earths Crust” then set on two saw horses. Start adding 5 gallons of water. Keep adding it until the Plywood snaps. Thats basically the same thing that happened on the East Coast of Japan. The weight of the water pushed down, and released the Fault running under Japan causing the Huge Earthquake that caused the Nuclear Meltdown! This also moved America closer to Japan! So they can say its all man made and yes people made the dam, but God controls the Climate! Not Fricking Al Gore! He’s just Greedy SOB!……

The problem is Algore is still stuck on that 90s 00s global warming crap. He needs to get with the times and realize. Dinosaur brownie baking created global weather disruptions…supposedly 200 million years later.
My take on it is this. In the beginning God created Dinosaurs, to create GCD in our time to bring forth a new eco-naziism and Marxism for the betterment of humanity. So as we fgart today, the dominant species after our extinction some 250 million years later will extinct on behalf of our flatulence.

At the Copenhagen debacle in 2010, there were so many private jets that their international airport couldn’t park them all; these planes were parked at regional airports as far as 50 miles away. Every one of the “climate scientists” that were so worried about global warming had to have their own limos, no cabs or even shared limos. Limos were being driven in from as far was as Germany to meet the demand. Nobody even teleconferenced in!

Manipulated data, conspiracy to create false data, withheld counter-findings, and so forth seem to suggest the “community of experts” is not cohesive in their belief that global warming is real.
But, for arguments sake, we’ll dismiss the above and focus on the only true reason global warming is a hoax, the UN. The UN is the biggest hoax and pox on this planet. Its soul mission is stealing the wealth of America and redistributing it to third world holes, oh, and to their own pockets as well. Global warming is just one of many avenues to do this.

As for the Himalayan glacier claim, it should have never been included in the IPCC report as the claim was a remark to a journalist rather than part of a peer reviewed journal article.

Because science was wrong before about climate change has nothing to do with science being wrong about climate change currently. You’re failing to address the actual scientific theory that man is currently the main driving force of climate change right now.
Science produces ever increasingly accurate models of reality. When new data is found that a prior model cannot explain, the model is either amended or if that isn’t possible, then a new model must be found that explains all the prior data in addition to the new data.
Our models or the climate, for this reason, are far more accurate and reliable than the models in the 1970′s.

A Model… is a Computer Program representing a Theory… intended to Simulate Reality… based upon Formula… NOT DATA. The Data is meant to provide varied results based upon Collections; You cannot change the Data to provide the desired Results. If the Fomulas are in Err… the Model is a Failure. If Einsteins’ E=MCsquared did not fit the the Expected Results, you could not simply change it — the Theory would be in Err.
You must provide a New Theory… create a New Model… and test it against the Data. But, what is being done is… The Desired Results are being used to create a Model… where the Data Collection is Suspect because it Redacted after being extracted from a Control Group that did not represent the Population… where the Reason for Theory was the promotion for Alternate Energy, established before any Science was applied… all being AssBackWards!

Posted on May 18, 2012 at 6:50pmDude, there‘s not a lot of arguments as to whether they’re actually rising. Temps have always gone up and down. They’re supposed to be going down, but they’re going up. I pretty much accepted that part as fact. The arguments start with what’s causing it, is it really a bad thing, can it be reversed, etc.. I remember the Koch brothers hired a team of scientists to disprove GW, but they were unable to. But, I‘m not going to dog you if you don’t believe scientists are capable of taking temperatures around the world and comparing the results, or if you believe the data is being manipulated. I’ll agree with practically everyone here that the arguments the lefty politicians are making are a load of crap. I’m no climate expert, so take what I believe for what it’s worth. I’m just trying to make sense of things like the rest of us.

Posted on May 18, 2012 at 9:21pmNope. I don’t care that much about it to dig in the crawl space for my old environmental history books or spend a lot of time researching it. If it’s going up or down, I don‘t think there’s anything that can be done about it and I’m pretty sure it will correct itself in some way regardless. I‘m going to trust one of the smartest men I’ve ever known on the subject and leave it at that. You can believe what you want. As I said before, even it were man made, there’s nothing ETHICAL that can be done about it. Besides the lefties’ solution is wrong, I’ll fight with you to stop them on that front anyway.

Sometimes the sun goes through cyclic periods of solar storms resulting in flares which warm the earth for extended periods. We get this. But why try to use it TO SELL CARBON CREDITS OF WHICH AL GORE OWNS???
