Voting districts are not property, although it is apparent Al, by your anger and rhetoric that you have probably bought many a district and many a politician through your efforts.

The “movement” has evolved as people have moved beyond the color of the skin.

You are playing Monopoly with Parcheesi rules.

As others have stated, didn’t get one word of his speech…but it‘s human culture to have several ’voices’..obviously, big al is talking to a group of african americans, so he is using his ‘inner city voice’ towards them…obama does the same thing…addressing a group of african americans he has his ‘inner city’ voice…when he speaks to a group containing mainly whites he has a very distinct ‘voice’ pronouncing every letter of every word…

I’m sure it would come as a surprise to many Americans, White and Black, to know that: (1) The first slaves in the Americas, after 1492, were Native Americans. (2) That slaves from Africa only began to be imported when disease and overwork had reduced those populations below economically viable levels. (3) That as large percentage of the Scots and Irish who came to America in the 1600 and 1700 came as ‘indentured servants’, debt slaves who may have been sold by the English Lord who owned the county where they lived in order to make room for SHEEP and private GAME RESERVES.

Ok, I’ve finally figured it out. Mr. Sharpton doesn’t want equal rights, he wants revenge. Does he not realize that there are white folks in the very same shape as the black folks!! Sorry, but all of us can’t possibly be descendants of slave owners. Until people like Al Sharpton start standing for equal rights and not retribution and revenge there will always be racism in this country on both sides.

You are absolutely right. People like Al Sharpton want revenge and they want to exact it on people who had nothing to do with owning slaves. When will they get over it?? Never. They will NEVER be satisfied and will keep demanding retribution from white folks. I grew up in Louisiana, but my ancestors never owned slaves because they were immigrants from Italy. Yet, I’m called racist, and accused of wearing white sheets and being told that I haven’t done enough to pay for the crimes of our ancestors. Well, I’m sorry they feel that way, but I think it’s their problem and they are the ones who are paying attention to the color of the skin instead of the content of character.

I know exactly how you feel. My Mom was from Germany and my Dad came from poor mountain folks. It’s more likely that they were slaves or at least indentured. Nope, no money in my background. I came up really poor, but I had 2 parents who worked and kept our family together. I can proudly say everything I have today I worked my butt off for as did my parents and their parents. Not one hand out from the government. I can truly say that I judge people by their character and not by the color of their skin and if “The Dream” is what Alveda King is talking about the I’m behind her one hundred percent, but if “The Dream” is what Al Sharpton is talking about I want nothing to do with it. There is absolutely no way unity can come from hate, but I don’t think Sharpton is an advocate of unity. The more he keeps us apart, the more money he makes.

Isn’t it funny? I‘ve never owned a slave and I don’t know of one person who has ever been a slave and yet, we are still talking about slaves and slave owners. I am white and have a black family next door on my left and a mixed race family next door on my right. Two doors up and two doors down are Hispanic families. I don’t remember one time that race was even a subject of conversation, but I sure love my neighbors. We share our food, we share our holidays, and we share our good times and hurt for each other when sadness comes to any of us. I guess that’s the way it should be.

They are building a plant that will employ 20,000 people–in CHINA, to build 200,000 ipods a year, for a worldwide market. Why build a plant in China and not America as our manufacturing base dropped 30% in last 10 years? Why did Apple lobby politicans and give 8 Million to the Democratic party? What?

Whites did NOT die in the hundreds of thousands to end slavery and abuse of Blacks? Union troops were WHITE with some help from Blacks — and the feds who died fighting the KKK WERE WHITE, Mr. Power Freak Sharpton.

WHITES CAN AND HAVE represented and fought like fury for the good of Blacks.

When do Blacks start representing and fighting for Whites?

When do YOU, Mr. Power Freak Hate Whitey, start worrying about the WHITE FOLKS living in those slum apartments you talk about, being evicted from their own rented homes, being FORCED INTO BANDRUPTCY and losing their mortgages too.

We‘ve got as many POOR AND EQUALLY DESPERATE WHITES and HISPANICS as we’ve got Blacks.

When do Blacks start fighting for WHITE POOR FOLKS just as hurting and just as stomped on and desperate and helpless as you CLAIM Blacks are?

Time for Black accountants, Black businessmen, Black doctors, Black lawyers — BLACK UPPER CLASS RICH PEOPLE to start meeting their own social obligations for ALL the poor.

And time for the media to start looking at WHITE poverty and WHITE desperation, too.

Put this blinking PSYCHOTIC fixation on skin color where it belongs: in the trash cans of USED TO BE past history — and RICH POWERFUL BLACKS need to stand up and fight for EVERYBODY, Whites, Hispanics, Asians and Semites alike.

Interestingly enough, If you look at the total numbers of people at the poverty level it is actually whites who hold the highest numbers. Statistically the Blacks and Hispanics have a higher percentage within their respective populations, but their total numbers dont even come close to the whites.

My point is … numbers can be twisted to represent what ever you choose them to be. If we wanted we could say that America is unjust to whites by using total numbers rather than percentage of respective population.

It is time we put the “race” card behind us and take responsibility for our own actions.

In America, a persons success is only limited by ones ABILITY and WILLINGNESS to do what it takes to achieve that success!!

Amen. The first slave owner in this country was A. Johnson, a black man, who sued the govt’ to make his white indentured servant stay with him for life. AFTER that happened, slavery seemed to take root, most of those being brought over from Africa having been sold to slavers by their own tribal chiefs. The Rev. sharpton is a racist of the first order. What happened, happened. Put on your big boy panties and deal with it. This country was built on everyone having an equal opportunity, not an equal outcome. The best will always rise to the top. Everyone reached their own level of success by using his God-given talents….or not. It is all up to the individual. Teach the pablum-pukers to WORK. Danglebags….typical liberal fact telling…In 8 years the Deficit grew under Bush by 4.3 Trillion, which I agree isn’t great by any stretch. However, there were those little things like the Tech Bubble bursting and that “Man Made Disaster” as you libs like to call 9/11. As I recall I don‘t remember hearing Bush cry about Clinton’s economic policies or his failure to protect the US from a major terrorist attack that occurred 9 months after he took office. No, he understood he was the President and had campaigned to take the job. You lefties also fail to mention that your Far Left Leadership took control of Congress at the beginning of 2007, but you don’t take responsibility for your actions, that wouldn’t be the Liberal thing to do.

Let’s see, lets look back at those horrible Bush years. Yes, real unemployment was 5% (and the media was screaming about how high it was) when Pelosi/Reid/Waxman took over. Things are so much better today after 19 months of Obama Business Killing measures and 43 months of Dem Control. I’d take the 17% real unemployment anyday over 5%. I know, its Bush’s fault. Here is another Obama idea for you. Lets grow the size of the Government by 35% during as he puts it the worse economy since the Great Depression. That seems like a wonderful idea. I know, how bout in 2 years we try to increase the debt by 5.2 Trillion Dollars, that will make Bush’s 9 years and 4.3 Trillion look small. Mission Accomplished. Oh year, once we totally wreck whats left of the business community, we can vilify the health care sector because they really don’t employ anyone and they like to make a “profit” and we Liberals hate profits, unless of course it is for our personal gain. Let’s pass a 3000 page bill that does nothing to help control costs and will make care the same for everyone, Lousy, while increasing the costs for everyone. Outstanding idea.

Your right…I sure don’t want to go back to 5% unemployment and leadership that actually thought America was Exceptional. I’m enjoying poverty and 16% unemployment while I watch Barry and his merry band of incompetent‘s go on multiple vacations while they sue law enforcement and State’s that are trying to enforce the law. That is so much better.

Danglebags WOW! REALLY? that‘s all you’ve got? Variation No. 4 of the same tired, utterly ignorant liberal argument? If you really really want to debate George Bush you need to go to Texas. I hear he lives in Dallas these days… or was it Austin…maybe Houston. Anyhow I digress. Instead of listening to Kieth Olberman or whichever liberal hack talking head you are foolish enough to get your talking points from heres a NOVEL suggestion. Actually LISTEN to what your opponents say and then formulate your OWN arguments.

If you want to say Bush wasn‘t a great president fine because I’m not going to waste any time arguing a point I pretty much agree with. He was a RINO and nearly everything he did wrong stemmed from a progressive outlook to governing. Just like president Obama except president Obama is 1000% worse and a Socialist to boot. “Dubya” was at least on the right side of policy decisions 40% of the time. President Obama has been take the wrong position on 99% of issues. GW was at least gracious to his political opponents while B.O. is without a doubt the most thuggish executive in living memory. In short Barrack Obama isn’t a tenth the President that George W. Bush was and George W. Bush was a mediocre president at best.

Why do you think the tax laws are so complex? It’s written so “favors” are given. Both parties have their share of corporate interests, that‘s why Glenn’s rally was not about parties but about Americans.

Problem is that HE HAS LOTS OF MONEY that he DOES NOT give away to his black brothers and sisters. He wants the WHITE MAN to do it for him. He is one walking lie after another. Why I am even responding about this moron…shame on me. If he ever read the book of Proverbs, he would know that you actually have to work for your own money. A lazy and slothful person is detestable in God’s eyes.
Proverbs 6.6: “Go to the ant, thou sluggard.” Ants are organized. Lazy people are oftentimes disorganized.

Proverbs 10.26: “As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so [is] the sluggard to them that send him.” The lazy person is incompetent and unfaithful, but not because he’s not bright. Because he is lazy.

Proverbs 12.27: “The slothful [man] roasteth not that which he took in hunting.” Might the lazy man be the one who likes taking credit that belongs to someone else, because he won’t work hard enough to earn his own compliments?

Proverbs 13.4: “The soul of the sluggard desireth.” The lazy person is ambitious, without wanting to prepare or put in the time to earn what he wants. He may want the big bucks without wanting to get a good education.

Proverbs 18.9: “He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.” Though it may be a lazy man who looks hardest for an easier way to get a job done, once he is actually doing work he is inefficient and wasteful.

Proverbs 20.4: “The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold.” Excuses for failure.

The lazy poor man, whether black or white, can use any excuse he/she wants, but it just won’t fly nowadays.
But this man continues to beat down his own race by making them lazy and making the white man support them.

I think Dangle is funny. Al Sharpton is a very powerful black man because of racism and intolerance he is a very well respected civil rights advocate. That being said, without racism Al Sharpton would have no platform to stand on. He would be an average man instead of a powerful black man. Al has done many good deeds in his life and no one can take that away. He has, however, lost his way. He is injecting racial issues into things that are not racial, and as his struggle to maintain his power continues he will try harder to divide us by race rather than allow us to come together.

Could it be because there are a TON of people in this country who agree with them on conservative values? And by the way, I am a young woman in my 20′s and there are LOTS of other young people I know who completely agree! We are everywhere!! That’s why conservative media outlets are doing so well and the msm, is well, tanked? No doubt the last administration did not hold all the conservative values we desire in a President. Republicans have been just as corrupt in many ways. That is why we’re fired up! To put REAL people who stand for something in office this time.

That just goes to show you that some Blacks hate Whites and always will. They think because they were slaves that are entitled to get something for nothing. Al Sharpton has always been a “Big Mouth” Black Racist.Just like when Andrew Young was Mayor of Atlanta, he caused the Police Department so much hell, because he didn’t like white police officers and refuesed to give money to help bring them into the 21 Century. And I hope you don’t go to the “well you hate blacks” because that isn’t so. The black police officers were hurt too. Some of my friends in the department were black and we all served under one shield., Law Enforcement.

In a world where people are responsible for their actions and believe in hard work and perserverence, the Reverend Sharpton’s of the world would be relegated to standing in the unemployment line. He only prevails because he does not believe the black man can stand on his own two feet and work for what is rightfully his — he wants the black man and woman to stand with hand outstretched because that makes him relevant — he is the slave master — he keeps the black man on the plantation. Stop him from convincing minorites are poor because of the white man — those days are gone – there’s a black man in the white house — or doesn’t he believe Pres. Obama is black?

The short answer is that he does not have any degree that he earned. He attended Brooklyn College for two years (1973-1975) before dropping out. He was awarded an “Honorary” degree by A. P. Clay Bible College in Baton Rogue, LA.

danglingbags I think the truth looks more like this:

January 03, 1995, when Republicans took control of Congress, the Dow opened at 3,834.33. Twelve years later, on January 03, 2007, Democrats took over with the Dow at 12,459.54 – up 225%. And after just two years of Democrat control in Congress, the Dow had managed to shed 36%, down to 7,949.09.

When Democrats took control in 2007, unemployment was at 4.4%… since then it’s more than doubled to over 10%.

The National Debt was $4.8 trillion when Democrats seized control of Congress, and in just two years, and with the help of gaining a Democrat colleague in the White House to provide a rubber stamp, they proceeded to skyrocket the debt to well over $12 trillion. Yet, somehow this is Bush’s fault.

Also, of the 8 years that Bush was President, how many of them were controlled by a Republican Congress (2), and isn’t it Congress that disposes money?

$5/gallon gas sucks whether you repub/em/socialist/conservative…whatever. Bush sucked. Period. I don‘t know if you’re going for anti-Bush, anti-republican, anti-conservative, or just plain anti mr. ******, but i can tell you that going from 5 to 10 trillion dollar debt over 8 years is terrible. I repeat, Bush sucked. That being said, Obama’s 10 to 13.5 trillion dollars of debit in less than 2 years puts us on pace for nearly 14 trillion dollars added to the debt if he is to have 2 full terms at president. That is not a defense of Bush, as I said, Bush sucked. So if Bush sucked by, among other things, adding 5 trillion to the debt, then what is Obama? Super suck? No, probably super duper suck (which is my very own scientific/economic term for adding 12-14 trillion to the debt.)

What planet were you spawned on guy? Your cast of bad guys sweeps the spectrum from Bush to Jesus, and stops to castigate the “rich” in the twixt. Amazing, that a man can find so many laudable charactars to malign in one paragraph.

But it is your reference to Jesus that leaves me confused. I know why you hate Bush and wealthy folks.

Apparently you are not a Christian, so permit me to enlighten you. Jesus Christ died for all men, and in so doing He did not distinguish between rich and poor, Jew or Roman, man or woman. His work extends the grace of God to all makind, offering a gift that transcends our tawdry squabbles, our political bias, or any other corrupt aspect of life in this dark world.

Your disrespectful comments regarding our Lord reflects the bankrupt nature of a fallen creature, one who is in desperate need of His sacrifice. In deference to Him, I pray your eyes will be opened before you pass from this world, and find yourself in hell, forever.

Why is Sharpton’s racisim such a surprise? And in that light, racisim covers a wide swath of items that certainly covers being for someone for the sole reason of their race. I would like to hear Glen actually confront Sharpton. Glen says he likes the guy and they are friends. That is what Reagan and the GOP said when they confronted Russia. And yes, I know he got the wall down, but the U.S. government representatives, at least going back to Ike, are guilty of getting in bed with evil people instead of telling them where to go. It is not necessary to accept them, or the UN, or anything else that is anti-America.

So Glen, if you ever hear of this post, which I am very sure you won’t, confront Sharpton and all the rest of the Marxist’s. You have them on tape. Spread the word to your collegues to ask tough questions, not those they do ask that only require a fourth-grade education.

Danglingbags let me spell this out for you P-R-O-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E-S….. Bush was also a (say it with me now) P-R-O-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E…. he was a BIG GOVERNMENT REPUBLICAN…. Obama is a BIG GOVERNMENT DEMOCRAT… we live in A-M-E-R-I-C-A…. founded on LIMITED GOVERNMENT. Our Constitution gave government strict limitations for a reason — BIG GOVERNMENT NEVER WORKS…. it always leads to oppression and tyranny. Our country started going down the tubes when we started imposing government restrictions and entitlements and regulations etc etc etc. We thrived when we were FREE! Just because you can get on a website and spout hateful rhetoric doesn’t make you FREE. True freedom is when you can come up with a great idea, run with it and make yourself rich and prosperous. When you can have a dream and make that dream a reality, Life Liberty and the Persuit of Happiness. Oppression is when you come up with an idea, can’t get it off the ground because there is so much red tape, restrictions, taxes, rules and regulations so you either A) go broke trying while the people taxing your every move get rich B) don’t even bother stifling people from trying to prosper at all or B) attempt it and succeed only to be demonized for your hard work and have your money taken from you and given to the guy who wouldn’t even get off his butt and try. How do you think the rich got rich (most of them) through hard work and a free society which allowed them to take a chance. Does it even make sense to say “Well our country was terrible under Bush because he grew government too big and powerful, but surely it will get better when its a democrat making government too big and powerful” Think about it. Big government on the left or the right is BAD.

      BTW- nice name (~wretch~)

OH and on another note: America is CAPITALIST, I have no problem supporting people I agree with and paying money to see them or buy their books. Why should they have to spend all their money time and effort to make something and then give it away… you obviously have the socialistic entitlement mindset that is burying this great nation. You just wait, you have it your way and you will be begging for freedom back. If things don’t turn around in the next 5 years our country will be in the global communist utopia they are striving for, and you will be crying “When did this happen? How did we get here?” while you wait in the bread line, or get cancer and are told you can no longer recieve healthcare because its too much strain on the “collective society”. I pray for our country, its people like you who still believe the government, dems or repubs, are on your side. All they care about are money and power. Thats why our constitution limits what they can do and gives the power to the INDIVIDUAL, unfortunately we no longer have people in office who respect or defend it.

Nice job Dingleberry, You really nailed those facts didn’t you? Want to try for some real world stuff. There facts will make your head explode.

The Loony Left likes to tell their brain dead base that all the economic woes were ALL the doing of a bunch of Republicans whose sole intention was to destroy the American economy. At best, that strains credulity, if not making outright liars to make their weak point. I would like my friends who camp in Loony Left World to carefully look at the following facts, and then reconsider their weak line “We inherited such a mess from the Republicans” that recovery is going to take longer than we planned, BUT, we are on the right track. If anyone on the Loony Left feels strongly enough about their “facts”, see closing for contact info. I doubt anyone will accept the challenge, haven’t yet.

The last republican budget in 2006 had a deficit of 167 billion and unemployment at 4.6. Then when democrats took over the budgets in 2007 unemployment began to rise. In 2008 the deficit also began to rise. Bush never even SAW the 2009 budget because Democratic congress hid the vote until after the election. But we know how the deficit jumped to almost two trillion dollars this year and real unemployment is at 16% (and more like 40% in democrat strongholds like Detroit and Baltimore. The democrats own this budget because this is the FOURTH year they have written the budget and they also own the Community Re-Investment Act which created the recession via the artificial housing bubble. Bush, McCain and many other Republicans spoke in 2000, 2003, 2005, 2007 about the housing market collapse but Democrats, namely Dodd and Frank, refused to discuss any problems until after the recession hit. Now Frank says we should shut down Freddie and Fannie. How do you define hypocrite. Easy, a picture of Barney Frank.

Democrats own this economy. They did not inherit it from anyone. They built it brick by brick.

Democrats simply don’t understand how to make money; they only know how to spend it.
