Al Sharpton’s Role Model Is…Glenn Beck?!

On paper, Glenn Beck and Al Sharpton couldn’t be more different – not least of all because Beck is successful. Yet they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and according to this report by the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank, Sharpton wants to imitate Glenn very much (emphasis added):

On Thursday, the day after his most visible career triumph, Sharpton worked the ballroom at Washington’s convention center, grinning for photographs. Opening up for his breakfast speaker, Education Secretary Arne Duncan, Sharpton regaled the crowd with a story of how Obama invited him and Newt Gingrich to the Oval Office and asked them to launch a five-city tour promoting education reform. When Duncan took the microphone, he requested “a huge round of applause for our leader, Reverend Al Sharpton.”

The reverend is basking in the applause. “I was born with Broadway lights as a backdrop,” Sharpton told me. His model is less Jesse Jackson than it is Glenn Beck. Sharpton told me he’s aiming to do “exactly what Beck did,” using his media platform to rally people.

Unlike Beck, however, Sharpton has mellowed. While arguing that he isn’t the first civil rights leader to go from the streets to the suites, his own transformation “may be more dramatic, because I’m more dramatic. Maybe it’s the James Brown in me.”

Sharpton’s strategy appears to be paying off. His ratings are currently far stronger than some of MSNBC’s most established leading lights.

    Now that is a racist statement. It is content of charicter not the color of a persons skin or a puppet on a string mentality. Let every man or woman no matter what skin be able to live…. these people are the stupid sharks that rally the rest and the world needs to know their game… post MLK it changed they had no person of sain leadership thats why sharpton and jackson are loons. Look at all the needless race riots since the 60s big one comes to mind L.A.Riots after rodney king but on a much larger angrier scale in florida one and prob elsewhere because thise are the dumb sharks that bring in their brothers to eat bad meat race baited like big fish on a little hook each of you are to their causes.

    I, for one, would LOVE to see Al create ASTV. Maybe do so with his media company, Jupiter Television Arts. It would also start a website for Leftist news and opinion, called The Flame.

    I think you got it all wrong there Sharpie. you Sir couldn’t be a pimple on Glens behind, further more the ratings are because everyone heard that there was a clown on MSLSD. Not because of any Revern speaking the word of God, or at least most of the people’s God. you are in your own lost world. that is the only thing you have in common with the other folks at MSLSD.

    You envy your enemy for there greatness but does not mean that you agree with them in anything. You can envy Obama in that he has follows who see nothing wrong with putting his face on a flag or basketball. When he tell bold face lies with conviction and his followers will lie about the lie you have to take that as a role model to envy but not to be just like it.

    Glenn said he did/does respect Al and Van Jones does not be one want to be like them.

    Think that Al and Beck are very different. Al is much more like Farrakhan than like Beck. Beck exposed the hidden Marxist agenda of the Soros funded Obama administration and its many International Left ties. Beck paid the price when he was targeted by the Democrat Character Assassination Squad ( which, since Beck and Palin, we have become VERY familiar with ) . Al Sharpton is wrapped in a protective mantle of “ innocent LIBERAL Black man ” who , like Farrakhan, is allowed to stir up his angry Black base and be totally protected by the Left and its Lap Dog Media. Today conservatives are the acceptable targets for prejudice : witness Beck.. Clarence Thomas.. Sarah Palin. The Marxists control the media. The Marxist control the message ! Our Lefties studied their Alinsky and their Goebbels . Now we have the NBPP as the “ acceptable ” KKK. Hate is, indeed, in style. The target has just changed .     Al has mellowed…really? I am realy tiring of the HuffPo bent and the many HuffPo citations / artucles, and HuffPo – esque headlines and huffPo characterizations / wordings (example = Soros, billionaire philianthropist). If I wanted to read the thoughts and opinions of HuffPo I would go to that site. PLEASE STOP & where and to whom do I offer this suggestion
