Ala. Businessman Under Fire for Anti-Muslim Pork Sign

An Alabama businessman is coming under fire for a new sign outside his electronics store, which declares: ‘BBQ pork restaurant is safest — no Muslims inside.” Where did he get the bright idea for the new signage? His friend sent it to him as a joke in an e-mail.
Some, however, aren’t laughing. ABC 33/40 reports:
The Electronic Repair Company in East Lake is getting a lot of traffic these days all because of a sign outside the business.
“I put jokes up there,” owner Chuck Biddinger said.
Biddinger says the sign, which reads “BBQ pork restaurant is safest…no Muslims inside,” is harmless.
“Muslims do not eat pork,” he said. “It’s a known fact that Muslims have tried to commit crimes in this country.”
Biddinger says he received the quote in an e-mail. He says he tries to change the sayings on both sides of the sign once a week. …
But Biddinger claims it’s not about race or religion. He says it’s just a joke.
“I‘m not a politically correct person and I don’t claim to be,” he said. “I never have been.”

Posted on December 9, 2010 at 1:30pmExactly burnt it is politically incorrect to point out that Muslim men are bigots who view women as less than men. People like Knot would prefer to have women subjugated than dare upset a Muslim. Their thinking is:”Turn a blind eye and shut your mouth, we don’t want them angry…. “

So if we think it unwise and counterproductive to go out of our way to insult all muslims we therefore approve of their worst behavior? And of course you know that ALL MUslims behave just as badly as the worst. If thet don’t you know they want to in their heart.
It is one thing to indict Islam for tolerating and even encouraging such violence. We can show where such encouragement comes from in the Quran and Sharia law. But to assume all Muslims think the same is the rankest, and stupidest, form of bigotry. And it makes us look like idots.
Correction: It makes YOU look like an idiot. Some of us here are trying to oppose evil without becoming vile in the process.

Posted on December 9, 2010 at 1:05pmIt is high time that we return to being able to laugh at one and all with malice toward none. Americans have always had a great sense of humor. Laugh, America, and stop the ridiculous political correctness. There are just as many signs/comments/jokes about rednecks, Southerners, conservatives, Christians, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, etc., etc., and those on the other side laugh at them. All you have to do is watch the likes of Jon Stewart. There appears to be no problem with them. Can’t we just laugh and move on?

Posted on December 9, 2010 at 1:39pmThis was hardly laughing “with malice toward none”. It was written as a putdown of Muslims per se, not just against radical jihadists. Imagine if the sign said Jews instead of Muslims. Would it still seem innocent. I’m certainly not tolerant of any thought of supprssing his right to make a bad joke, but let’s be honest here. Few if any jokes of this nature are really without some level of hostility. Looking at many of the posts here that hostility, while understandable, is on naked display.
Do any of you cheering this on realize you are playing right into the radicals’ hands. They want to provoke us toward hatred of muslims because of their religion so they can justify greater demands for tolerance of their anti-western values. They want to portray all worry of Muslims’ loyalty and intentions as mere bigotry. Don’t you all listen to Glenn when he talks about the radicals on the left poking us hoping that WE will initiate the fight that will “justify” extreme measures? If we are going to beat both the Marxists and Jihadists we are going to have to control our emotions and be smarter.

Also it’s factually untrue. That restaurant is not safer, at least not with that sign. I think it makes it a more likely target. Muslims can’t eat pork, and don‘t like being around it but I’m certain a jihadist seeking to kill infidels who insult Islam will be fine entering the restaurant long enough to blow it up or just kill everybody. He knows whatever uncleaness he will risk will be absolved by his “noble” act of martyrdom.

Posted on December 9, 2010 at 2:09pmI want to add a story right here. I recently left another forum because of this very issue. I was using another name and I am quite sure some of you may belong to this forum, it is on the website of a famous country singer who is also very politically astute. He has a forum he calls the soapbox. It is filled by some awesome God-fearing conservative Christians. Salt of the earth people, the kind of base this country is made up of. But…
Most of them display the same ignorance with the Muslim problem. And yes, it is a HUGE problem for not only this country but the world. Islam stands for some evil things. But I hate to see good Christians lose sight of Christ’s teachings when confronted by this! You Christians, do you not trust in God? Have you not read the Book of Revelation? Do you not understand that this world, and all of its problems, is just a fleeting wisp? You are not a citizen of this world, you are part of the Body of Christ. ACT LIKE IT!!! Oh we are all human and we all have our thorns. Mine is my language. I used to curse like a truck driver and I still do it more than I would like. I do not always show the love I should to others too.
Listen, it is one thing to defend yourself and your family. There is nothing wrong with going to war to defend your country or faith. Sometimes we have to fight in this world. But be sure you are fighting the good fight! I see a lot of good Christians becoming just like the very thing they are fighting here. Do not lose track of Christ in your hatred for your fellow man!

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 9:27amCorrect me if I’m wrong, but one doesn’t look for accuracy in jokes. Generally, humor is derived from exaggeration and is typically a tease. If one is looking for accuracy in a joke, one is looking in the wrong place.
Further, finding humor in a statement doesn’t mean one is guilty of embracing prejudice or hate. Such an argument is based on the tactic of false dichotomy and such tactics should be exposed at the onset of any serious discussion. I hereby expose that false dichotomies have been repeatedly used in this group of threads.
Lastly, I don’t make any public profession of faith in Christ. Nevertheless, an academic reading of the New Testament (and I willingly acknowledge that the New Testament was NOT written for academies, but for people of faith) reveals countless stories of Christ confronting religious zealots. Are modern Christians not able to confront the same wherever they find it, whether it be Judaism, Christianity or Islam?

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 2:03pmThe one flaw with the premise “that all Muslims do not eat pork, we sell pork, thus we are the safest” is, first of all, they might make the establishment a target FOR THE FACT that it sells pork, and second, you have made fun of them, so NOW you may not be safe because they didn’t find your joke very funny………..just sayin.

Posted on December 11, 2010 at 10:20am@Knotaclu: “why dont all barbeque restaurants put a sign like this out on their marquee?”???
Appreciating your lack of humor and disdain for such an act, perhaps it’s because the owners of such restaurants would be in danger of a muslim attack? Perhaps they fear getting their heads cut off? Yes, this is the United States, but there ARE muslims here who could and would, with great joy, defend their prophet and try to kill the owners of such establishments.
Report Post »I would suggest Americans not live in fear of such reprisals, and say what they want without fear of death, even if you or muslims do not like it. Death to political correctness in all its forms. Even blatantly provoking muslims or others they might offend should not warrant death to those who do.
There should be no “well, he should not have provoked them’ excuses.

@unkate: where did I say that. I said if the guy wants to make himself out to look like an idiot, he has the right. In the process, he makes our side look like idiots. He gives ammo to the left, he helps them with their argument, he puts gas on the flames.
I don’t understand people on my side that lower our standards to that of the left. I expect this stuff from the left. I expect this stuff from the ignorant. I expect this stuff from democrats. I cringe when I see it from the right. Course I have made the assumption this guy is from the right, the same assumption that MSNBC, CNN, ABC and all the rest will do. Right or not, it will be portrayed as from the right. But oh that joke was hilarious….barrel of laughs….rotflmao…..ha ha….. WHATEVER…..

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 5:18pmWHERE DOES ISLAM COME FROM ANYWAY?
LINEAGE OF ARABS (Descendants of Ham) – Archeological Research garnered from tablet fragments: Hittite, Akkadian and Sumerian:
1.3000 BCE descendants of Canaan, grandson of Noah via Ham break out of their proscribed region – southern Turkey – immediately north of the Euphrates River – True “Syria”. Some move southward into the Levant. Most rename themselves As-Syrians. They garner iron from the Hittites and invade and destroy Haran, Assur (neighboring cities ) and attack Nineveh.
2.300-600 years later they have burnt Niniveh to the ground and made Babylon their capitol (Babylon founded by Nimrod I, firstborn of Ham).
3.Later the Akkadian King, Sargon of Niniveh heritage, recaptures northern Mesopotamia and conquers Babylon, making it his capitol as Niniveh was still in ruins.
4.From several recorded Sumerian records from Ubaid, Ur and Uruk tell of the children of Nimrod/children of the Assyrians evacuate Babylon and move into the North-Central grass plains of the Arabian Peninsula. THEY ARE THE FIRST ARABS(ARABIANS).
5.From previous historical records, it is known that the peoples living south of the Euphrates River, down the Euphrates River. East through the Indus region and Persia and the peoples of seacoast of the Arabian Peninsula and Ethiopia are descendants are the first born of Noah (Shem), and they do not intermarry with the descendants of Ham.
6.Midianites, at their root, are Sumerian sheepherders who later combined with offspring of the House of Abraham (a Sumerian), combined with or intermarried to peoples from the Kingdom of Sheba (Yemen) and Ethiopia.
7.MOST IMPORTANT CLUE: Every culture had a signature animal symbol. Throughout Mesopotamia and the regions of the second born of Noah (Japeth) – The Caucasus, Turkey, Black Sea (also East and West), it was the bull. You find artifact Bulls in silver, copper, bronze and other materials. The Hamites created a half-man/half-bull symbol which they called Baal. Time of origination dates to circa 3000 BCE in Lebanon at what is now the place known as Baalbek (megalithic platform structure). As for the Arabs from the grassy central plain of Arabia, over time they migrated and founded Medina. They would have been Baal worshippers. Medina was founded near Mecca which was a thriving trade center for agriculture, minerals, frankensense everything coming up from Yemen.
EMERGENCE OF ISLAM
Mohammed’s wife (Khadija) inherited the camel train cartage business when her husband died, but could not keep it unless she had a husband for legal ownership purposes. (LIKE IN KORAN) She found an idiot teenager who could not read or write, and that was Mohammed. When she died, the other relatives gave Mohammed money and they took over the business. Mohammed travels with them. Near Ebla, Syria (Modern Syria), the rich idiot Mohammed teams up with Syrian mercenaries. The cult of domination – Submit or Die – Slavery of Women, begins there. They call him their prophet and use him. Between Midian and Syria, along the road east of the Dead Sea/Jordan Valley, that’s where Mohammed has epiphany in a cave. Later they settle in Medina/Mecca.
SOURCES ON MOHAMMED: University of Chicago, Oriental Institute, Oxford in Britain (Syrian, Egyptian, Coptic, Middle Eastern, Yemeni, Ethiopian articles – English Translations)
TO STUDY THE ANCIENT CULT-RELIGION OF BAAL EXPLAINS the divergence of Islam from Judaism and the adoption of dominating, killing, lying cheating and other anti-civilization aspects. Throughout the entire ancient world, the bull which was the machine-tractor of the ancient world was depicted and revered but only worshipped by Hamites (Assyrian, Canaanites, Southern Egyptians) Baal is recorded as the God of War/Violence/Storms/Domination. These are the root aspects that were worshipped in Medina, and when Medina conquered Mecca (which worshipped the God of Israel, as all Shemites/Midianites would), they supplanted those things into the new religion – Islam.

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 10:06pmIt’s not something I would say — but I do feel the left says things like this all the time without apology. The “rules” need to be the same for everyone — and being politically correct is one of the primary reasons for where we are with out country. It is only the conservatives that are held to a politically correct standard — and it’s time we get back to the constitution and embrace our rights to free speech. We have been nudged so far to the left due to fear of offending people with any little thing that is said or done. This is America, and I am proud to be an American!

Report Post »I think the Julian Assange and wikileaks issue is different. My gut reaction is that the material was stolen, and therefore not Assange’s to post or do anything else with. I’m disappointed that I have not seen this fact (that he is posting stolen documents — that he does not own) used in anyone’s reasoning as to whether he should be allowed to post the documents or not. I don’t think this is a free speech issue.
