Alan Colmes’ Fiery Defense of Weiner Leads to Spark-Flying, On-Air Debate

Earlier today, sparks were a-flying on FOX News‘ America’s Newsroom when Alan Colmes took to defending Rep. Anthony Weiner. The liberal commentator unleashed his thoughts during a debate with conservative writer and commentator Steve Hayes.
During the fiery discussion, Colmes said that, while he doesn‘t condone Weiner’s behavior, it’s a shame that the embattled congressman may be forced to step down. He said:
“Unless we find out that he broke the law … then that’s a different story. Or unless he thinks that something else might come out where he broke the law, then I think it’s a shame that a personal situation like this should result in him having to leave his job…this has nothing to do with whether or not he’s a good congressman. I want someone in office, not to be my moral guide, but to vote the way I want them to vote.”

Weiner‘s problem isn’t the content of the pictures, or that he thought sending the pictures to complete strangers was OK – his problem is/was his pro-active lying about being “hacked/pranked” to every reporter that he could convince to come to his office for a one-on-one interview. That act cost him his seat in congress.
President Clinton‘s problem wasn’t that he put his wee-willy in the interns mouth in the oval office, nor that he stained a rather unremarkable blue dress, and it strangely doesn’t rely on your definition the word “is” – it was that he lied about doing it to a federal judge.
Weiner took a personal situation and then, playing on his trust with the public/press, tried to deflect responsibility on innocent parties, then finally came clean.
Of course, Bill Maher said on Friday also holds true – it’s hard to look at him and not think to yourself “I’ve seen your *ick” – it would be very hard for anyone to take him seriously after this…
His defenders fail to acknowledge his constant lying about his responsibility…

Now I know he’s also a sick twisted liberal hack without a brain of his own. I think he would defend a liberal who killed someone. I really think Fox should completely remove his ass from any TV show.

Does the venerable Mr. Colmes not realize that no member of Congress is obligated to vote the way their constituents would want or expect? This is a representative republic – not a pure Democracy. These men and women will say and/or do whatever it takes to get the power; but once it‘s firmly in their grasp they’re overcome with that sense of absolute power and corruption overtakes them. Colmes should understand this after all the years Hannity tried to school him.

From the 60′s we get Alan Colmes types who justify immoral behavior as personal and not germane to what a public official does. “As long as he votes as I want him”. Exactly what a liberal would say and wants. Hell he’d keep Charles Manson in office as long as he voted “The way I want him”. No morals. No decency. All great Empires met their demise due to weak moral living. Greeks, Romans, Assyrians. Heck when Genghis Khan sons killed one another, that empire was doomed. Murder, rape, man love, boy love, it all leads to the destruction of an Empire. Are we to be next because of the likes of Alan Colmes who doesn’t care what is in someones private life when they are a public official? “As long as no crime as been committed”. Man 0 Man. Where is that comet marked “SPECIAL DELIVERY EARTH”. We need to be taken out of the righteous order of the universe.

Over the years, Colmes has backed and boxed himself into an ever decreasing corner. His logic defies intelligence betraying his underlying determination to win, damn expense, ‘I want someone in office not to be my moral guide, but to vote the way I want them to vote.’ Womanizing is obviously ok with him. Being a womanizer will never influence a decision of a lawmaker, will it? What does morals have to do with the making or enforcing of law?
Colmes, please give us good reason to have law that is not based on ‘moral guide.‘ ’vote the way I want them to vote’ is what one mob member might say of the rest of the mob. Democracy is dangerous and that is why we are a Republic rooted in virtues and morals, and not a Democracy living on the whims of a moment. I want my Representatives to be principled, strong on moral convictions, weak on hypocrisy, openly dedicated to our Constitution. If they are not, it is my problem, needing my remedy.
I hate listening to Colmes, he is so narrow minded always willing to reduce any argument to mob like utilization. The mobs terrorizing our businesses must appeal to Colmes because they all vote and act alike. Yet listening to Colmes is… wellll, gots ta git done.
