Alan Grayson’s Last Stand: Odd Limbaugh, Beck, O’Reilly, Hannity, Palin Slideshow

How does an angry, defeated congressman spend his last days on Capitol Hill? By attacking prominent conservative media figures, of course.

That’s exactly what Alan Grayson did for five minutes on the House floor today. The soon-to-be former Florida Democrat thought the best use of taxpayer dollars was for him to attack Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, and George W. Bush by attempting to show how extending Bush-era tax cuts for the “rich” means these conservatives will “make” extra money.

The video:

There’s just one problem: no one stands to “make” any money from extending Bush tax cuts. Extending tax cuts is simply not taking away money that’s already been made. It’s not a gain or an income. That‘s like a robber deciding not to rob a bank and then accusing the bank of taking in extra income because he didn’t rob it. Sorry, Al, it doesn’t work that way.

Just in case you couldn’t make it through the video, here’s a transcript via Mediaite:

Madam Speaker, we’ve heard endless braying from the Republicans, time after time, demanding an extension of tax cuts for the rich in this country. They tell us that somehow extending tax cuts for the rich will somehow create jobs. When we’ve had tax cuts for the rich for nine years and I haven’t noticed a lot of jobs being created in nine years.

They tell us it will boost the economy well I haven’t noticed that happening for nine years either. So you have to wonder why they persist in this mania, this obsession of theirs that we need to have tax cuts for the rich when the economy is flat on its back and unemployment is almost 10%. I think I have the answer. The answer turns out to be very simple.

They want tax cuts for the rich because they want a tax cut for themselves. What do I mean by that? Let’s take a look at the people who are really in charge, the ones who actually run the Republican party.

Let’s start with this gentleman here, the man with the cigar, Rush Limbaugh. Doesn’t he look happy? According according to Newsweek, he makes $58.7 million a year, and extending the tax cuts means he’ll have another $2.7 million. Mega dittos, Rush, and mega money. Let’s look at the next one.

Here’s Glenn Beck, according to Newsweek Glenn Beck makes $33 million a year as a pundit and extending the Bush Tax Cuts means a cool $1.5 million for Glenn bBeck’s ongoing imitation of Howard Beale from Network. Now let’s look at the next one.

Sean Hannity. Newsweek says that Sean Hannity, this man of the people makes $22 million a year from his act on Fox. And that means the Bush Tax cuts mean an extra $1 million. $1 million for Sean Hannity. Maybe he can afford some anger management classes. Let’s take a look at the next one.

Bill O’Reilly. He makes a modest $20 million a year from his gig on Fox. That means that the Bush tax cuts give him not quite seven figures, nearly $914,000 of extra cash. It’s easy to see why Bill O’Reilly wants to see the Bush tax cuts extended. And I have to say, he’s no pinhead when it comes to that.

And Now, Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin has made $14 million this year from cashing in on her fame. In fact, she’s done a better job of turning fame into cash than anyone in American history. $14 million. So she wants the Bush tax cuts extended so she can make an extra cool $638,000. As she was — as she would gesture (shoulder shrug.)

And now on to Newt Gingrich, the man who did such a great job of running America in the 1990’s, he wants a second chance in this decade. Newt if you do to us now what you did to us then, we’ll be in trouble. But Newt Gingrich makes $5 million a year from his punditry, he’ll get an extra quarter million dollars a year. An extra quarter million dollars a year from the Bush tax cuts being extended.

Now let’s go on to the big cheese. George W. Bush himself. The man who got us into two endless war. The man who brought us to the brink of national bankruptcy. The man who gave us $4 a gallon gasoline. George W. Bush makes a cull $4.2 million a year, according to Newsweek. That means that extending the bush tax cuts for George Bush means an extra $187,000 in his pockets every single year.

I have a better idea. Instead of placating these people and letting them spew out onto the airwaves their lies about the Bush tax cut ever revealing the fact that they stand to gain millions, millions of dollars each year from their selfish desire to take advantage of the rest of America, let’s do this. Let’s take that money and create jobs.

All that money that the Bush tax cuts are charging us that can create jobs for three million Americans a year. $30,000 job a fair wage for fair work, a dignified wage for dignified work and a way to — a dignified wage for dignified work and a way to help our economy, a better idea than putting money in the pocks of the rich. The problem is not that the poor have too much money, that’s not the problem at all, it’s that they need jobs. Thank you.

Grayson, what a pathetic, bitter moron…

Oh and btw there Alan… It was Newt’s Republican Congress that held the Purse Strings during the Clinton Administration and was the key factor in the creation of a huge SURPLUS… so yes, he wants to do it again and with all of the strong Tea Party members pulling the GOP back in line, we have a good chance to fighting down this out of control deficit and keep this country from following in the footsteps of Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Germany….

So Grayson, go quietly into the night, and NEVER COME BACK!

Excuse me, but when in America is it a crime to be successful? I question this sunstroke victim’s math on stealing wealth to create “jobs” for 30 grand a pop. How much did we pay per job with Stimulus? $300,000 or more per job that was saved or created? This human lab rat is a fool and I’m glad Floridians had the common sense to boot his keister out of office. Of course, Randall Patrick McGreyson didn’t bother to mention the Dems that faired so well under those same “9 Years.” How about Chris Dodd, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, George Sorros, Rockefeller, Barrack Obama, and others that make up the Millionaire Club in the Senate. Did the Son-of-Kucinich mention how many people Rush, Glenn, Hannity, Palin and Newt employ? Hell no, that doesn’t fit the screw-the-rich template, now does it?

Grayson, it‘s not government’s job to worry about job creation – it‘s government’s job to get out of the private sector’s way sufficiently enough to allow the private sector to create jobs.

Also, a fair wage is not what government decides. A fair wage is what the market decides. And when government regulations or subsidies get involved, an artificial market, and therefore an UNFAIR wage is created.

I agree Shane…… Grayson is a national disgrace. Good for Florida for finally getting it right this time. However….. I believe we have lots more work to do with our Senate and House. For example, our Senator from La. Mary Landrieu has been one of the worst Senators ever. How she had stayed in office for so long is beyond me. Her district is New Orleans and surrounding areas, she definitely has the poor and black votes there. Please New Orleans open your eyes, she is not bringing anything to our state but disgrace and dishonor……. Senator Vitter also voted for the SB510, I never would have believed he would do that. We in La. are still waiting for an explanation from him. The people who voted him back in last November are really up in arms. I read somewhere he would receive a huge sum for voting for the bill……. Is this how our Senate and House are working now????
Anybody have an answer for me? I would love to understand this one m ore. God bless our great nation.

Anyone notice how he used the Left’s favorite catch phrase – “Let’s take their money.” It‘s been made pretty clear the Left doesn’t think we’re smart enough to know what to do with our own money, so they’ve made it their mission to take it from us for our own good. When’s the last time Government has done anything right with our money? Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, War on Poverty, US Postal Service, the Department of Energy, Fannie and Freddie, all Government Programs, all either broke or abysmal failures. These clowns in Government have been at it for a century and they have yet to create a successful government program, let alone one that remained solvent.

I know I’m not usually so angry, but this kind of stuff just gets under my skin.

Rush, Glenn, Bill O’Reilly, and all the other people on that list got their wealth the hard way….by working for it. Rush does a live 3 hour radio show every day, as does Glenn and other conservative pundits. Bill does a segment on a TV. None of that is easy. It’s not just plunking oneself down in front of a mike every day and rambling on, there’s research that has to be done and alot of fact checking. And there’s a level of political awareness and analysis that most of us can hardly hope to obtain.

It must really frost Mr. Grayson’s shorts that Rush & Co. make all this money. I wonder if he gets as upset with the player on the Tampa Bay football team. After all, they make millions, too. And what about people like Bill Gates, Arianna Huffington, Donald Trump and the scores of others that pull in seven figure salaries? I guess in his play book, it’s okay for liberals to get large salaries, but not for conservatives.

And finally, Sarah Palin got tossed into the group. I guess no list of “totally corrupt capitalists” is complete with out Sarah Palin. I think she’s now replaced the boogy man in liberal fairy tales. “Ooooh, watch out Joey, if you don’t go to sleep, Sarah Palin will come and steal you to work in the oil fields in Alaska” (or maybe feed you to the bears, or ….) And it‘s so sad that he’s jealous that she made 14 MILLION dollars from her political exposure. I mean what is the world coming to these days? 14 MILLION dollars! Just think of all the jobs that could have created. Just think of all the roads that could have paved, just think of all the pollution that caused!

Nobody parlays their political exposure like that… except maybe George Stephanopoulos, Bill Clinton, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, ah…do I really need to list them all? Y’all get the idea.

The saddest thing about this is just how many people in America actually think that not taking money from an individual in taxes equates to giving money to that individual. And, inane as the point is, they will argue it.

Where does one begin? My feeble attempt to apply words to people like this really puts a strain on me its true. I cannot find the words in a dictionary that would express the worthlessness of people like this Grayson. I do not know how one can become so disillusioned to what is real and relevant to the life of a human being.

I know for the most part Republicans and Democrats both love getting and being rich. They make sure the people that financed their elections get a good return in favors and money. They both speak what ever their voter base wants to hear and I understand this logic though I hate it.

People like Grayson, Soros, Reid, Gutierrez, Dean, Carter, Clintons, Obamas, Kennedy’s, Hutchison, Boxer, Pelosi, and many others that need not be named as we know them by their black hearts have been desensitized to the RIGHTS of the American citizen, the bulwark of this grand nation. It will take an act of God it seems to break the barbarians from storming the walls of freedom.

Apparently, the worst is yet to come, I pray we are ready for the bloody onslaught of these heathen mongrels…

That is exactly why this clown is out of a job. He is completely useless and can’t understand that you not giving people money with a tax cut, but that they are keeping THEIR own money! And when he says that these highly paid republicans and pundits are spouting lies, I can’t only think of his Taliban Dan commercial he ran against his opponent. The U.S. will be a much better place without this clown in D.C. on Jan 3rd. Maybe he can get a job at Disney. They love people who act a fool there.

And by the way, Grats to all the fox people making big bucks! They deserve it. And he forgot to mention how much charity is given by these people. good ridance to this guy, although i feel we will be seeing more of him in the future. This guy doesnt want to go away. He’s just being a poor sport. “Oh yea, well these big bullies make all this money; keeping it from millions of jobless folk.” Do you really think that money they steal from successful, hard working people would ever get to those 3 million people he is talking about. I don’t think so, do you? It would just go to enriching the president’s elite.

      A Clown
      A Sycophant

We would like to take the time to apologize to all the stupid, lying, foolish, sycophant clowns. We apologize for insulting them by comparing them to Alan Grayson. They don’t deserve to be slandered like that….

Alan Grayson is a great example of the mindset of the left. This is the same way of thinking that this current administration and all who support and agree with feel. They actually think it fair to take from one to give to another. It is a mindset. One cannot argue and win the point as they really believe it is fair. We on the other hand see it as not being fair. It is simple, they must be voted out, ran out, removed from power. This is the only way to stop the madness.

We will never be able to agree with them. They seek to destroy our goals and we seek to destroy theirs. This is nothing more than warfare of agendas. We must get everyone who believes as we do to vote them all out as soon as possible. Grayson is on his way now but there are others still standing who also must go! “VICTORY OR DEATH”

      GOODBY MR GRAYSON

What he and his ilk don‘t seem to comprehend is that WE THE PEOPLE don’t think the government does a very good job making decisions for WE THE PEOPLE.

The people Mr Grayson seems to hate got made their income from bringing something to WE THE PEOPLE that WE THE PEOPLE wanted. He seems to imagine that the government has all the answers and WE THE PEOPLE are STUPID.

This man LIED in his campaign advertising and when called on the lies–he didn’t care–after all he really believed that WE THE PEOPLE were STUPID and wouldn’t care if he lied to us and then published the lies on TV.

Turns out the person that was actually STUPID…..was…….Mr. Grayson.

      Happy Trails all

Here’s the thing . . . These Obama liberals, they know this crap isn’t true. They know how taxes work . . . how job creation works; it just doesn’t suit them and their agenda; it doesn’t support their themes and their plots.

These Obama Super Liberals, they create supporting messages just as you would write a script, develop a theme and write a plot. It’s all fictional . . . nothing about it is real; and they more than anyone know it. Their supporting evidence is created out little things that amount to nothing; their logic is thin and superficial, but holds just enough water to catch the evening news crowd educating themselves with two minute news clips between commercials while surfing channels.

And two minutes isn’t very long to create images to instill belief systems, to build angers and biases. So what if Grayson pulls off five minutes worth . . . seems his performance was more of an audition for something like Olberman’s job . . . Maybe they’re keeping a chair warm for him over there right now . . . He certainly fits in. Either way, so long Mr. Grayson . . . We’re sure we’ll hear from you again. That’s just the way she goes.

They don’t understand that true patriots want to pay taxes…we just want them to spend it wisely and we don’t want the rates to be exorbitant. I think we can all agree democrats and republicans that our money is not being spent wisely. We must take this political football of taxes away from these politicians…it allows them to play roulet with our lives.

This tax argument is like an epic drama and will NEVER Go away until we go to a flat tax or something similar. Our politicians have been talking about energy independence, health care, blah blah blah for 50-60 years if they really wanted it done it would be done….but no it takes all their power away and keeps us the citizenry arguing about inane meaningless things…

Grayson talking out of his “bung-hole-e-o” again…sounds like a kid upset because he didn’t get picked to play in a game (which is EXACTLY what happened.) Studied more about the finances of ex presidents and news/talk show hosts than he did about the proposed health care change and u.s. budget.

Problem with Grayson is he has his efforts aimed in the wrong direction (which is NOT in the direction of re-enforcing the country.) THAT IS THE EXACT REASON HE WAS PUSHED AWAY BY THE VERY SAME PEOPLE HE IS SUPPOSE TO REPRESENT (that and the demonstrations he presents that he is 51 cards short of a deck.)

NEWS FLASH:::::::Grayson is over. His gov’t debut is OVER. People will never vote him in again (unless he gets with the local union and they can PICKET gov’t offices.) Suggestion for Grayson,,,don’t picket the unemployement office building until AFTER you apply for you benefits (but then, you already knew that, didn’t you?) Now,,,go home and pout.
