Alleged Execution Caught on Tape

Video showing Pakistani soldiers allegedly executing a group of six blindfolded and bound individuals has surfaced on the internet:
Those being executed are apparently Pakistani insurgents, and jihadists have been using the video as propaganda.
That video has not been authenticated, and according to the New York Times the Pakistani military claims it was faked by militants.
But American officials who the Times showed the video to say the video appears real. Including one who remarked, “There are things you can fake, and things you can’t fake. You can’t fake this.”
The Times reports that CIA director Leon E. Panetta, already in Pakistan on a previously scheduled trip, was expected to raise the issue with Pakistani officials.

Posted on October 1, 2010 at 5:57pmAmericans who have never been exposed to war, or served in our armed forces in hostile territory or lived anywhere in the world where strife is commonplace for indigenous folk…seeing the actual violence tends to only desensitize them (and us) further to this type of violence. Need proof? just watch the video, it is the proof. When you’ve grown up experiencing violence, it’s easy to be violent, worse…it’s natural. This article doesn’t give the full context of the story and we may never learn the motives behind it.

I clicked the video and a commercial started playing. I was struck by the morbidness of the whole thing. Someone was going to try to sell me something just before I watched an execution…then I posted this…

Posted on October 1, 2010 at 5:40pmI see what you mean, it certainly _feels_ wrong for someone to try to sell a product before this particular video, however, the advertiser does not support the actions of the people doing the execution (assuming it is real) it mealy supports the infrastructure and salaries of the fine folks at CNN who worked to bring the story to light (or at the very least spread the story) so that you and I would know about it.
Without the sponsors of the news it would cease to exist and only propaganda would remain.
In short, there can be no free press without free enterprise

If it is real then it shows that the Pakistani army is (like every other army in time of war) a place for the violent may seek each other out and form rogue squads. The question is how well will the Pakistani army brass handle these types of incident(s).

When we hear of beheadings, the image of a quick death comes to mind. Dan Pearl and others had their heads slowly sawed off by those barbarians.

I think every American who says, “We need to understand WHY they want to kill us”, or “Mainstream Islam is not like that”, and all the other appeasement stuff you hear these days, needs to see what our “friends” in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, UAE are doing to their own citizens in the name of Islam. It’s brutal stuff and American media does just what CNN did in the video…they remove the scary parts. It results in our citizens not realizing the depth of the threat that faces us.
