George Zimmerman told investigators Trayvon Martin put his hand over Zimmerman’s mouth and went for his gun the night of their deadly altercation, the Orlando Sentinel is reporting, according to a source.

The source familiar with the case told the Sentinel that Zimmerman‘s story hasn’t changed in his various statements to police, but that certain details don’t quite jibe with what investigators believe what happened.

One of those inconsistencies: Zimmerman told police Trayvon had his hand over Zimmerman’s mouth during their fight on the night he shot Trayvon. The Sentinel‘s source confirmed that Zimmerman’s statements include that allegation. But authorities do not believe that happened, the source told the Sentinel, because on one 911 call, someone can be heard screaming for help. If it were Zimmerman, as he claims, his cries were not muffled, the source said.

Zimmerman also told police, the source told the Sentinel, that while the two were on the ground, Trayvon reached for Zimmerman’s gun, and the two struggled over it.

Those portions of Zimmerman’s account are not corroborated by other evidence, the source said.

Zimmerman attorney Mark O‘Mara told the Sentinel he hadn’t seen his client’s statements and therefore could not comment on them. Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump said Zimmerman’s two claims — that he was both screaming in the 911 call and that his mouth was covered — don’t add up.

“It’s either one or the other, it can’t be both,” Crump said. “We have to put together this puzzle because, unfortunately, we don‘t have Trayvon Martin’s version” of events.

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in Martin’s death. He is currently free on bail.

      And of course, “the source”is none other than the corrupt politicians who brought the false indictment against Zimmerman in order to sacrifice an innocent man to appease the black racist mobs who call all these teenage criminals ” our children,” when they are in fact no more than criminal thugs who deserve whatever they get.

      The corrupt “source” klnows full well placing a hand over a mouth, then reaching for a gun is not an effort that is constant, giving the victim time to scream for help.

      This Florida prosecutor and her co-horts are criminals of the highest order and those like Sharpton, Tavis Smiley and their stupid minions know perfectly well Zimmerman acted in self-defense.

      They just don’t want their “youf” to be held accountable for what they do.

      Why do they think he covered his mouth in the first place? Because he was screaming for help… That corroborates his story, not refutes it. “The source” is either brain-dead or are being blatantly deceitful.

      If everyone just taught their kids good manners and to be of good character, we would all be better off. Why didn’t Trayvon just ask Zimmerman what he wanted, say he was on his way home, “Sir” (as a greeting to an elder, not necessarily a white person) etc. etc. The the Gilbralter sized chips that young black men are encouraged to wear at all times contributes to the dangers. I would suggest that parents of any color start with good manners, which seem to have gone the way of the Dodo bird.

      That woman is filled with so much hate. If she believes in the legal system, and not the lyching of a man who has not been proven guilty, why doesn’t she go before the media, and tell the people ensighting violence, and death threats against Zimmerman, to stop and let the legal courts do their job? Trayvons parents should be telling the Panthers, Al sharpton and Jessie Jackson to stop ensighting violence against Zimmerman, or none blacks.

      This is clearly a lynching. Zimmerman at no time said that; “Martin put his hand over my mouth and kept it there until I shot him dead there-by preventing me from calling for help.”. In a similar fashion, the fact that Zimmerman can be heard screaming for help is not proof that Martin did not cover Zimmerman’s mouth for some period of time. The press is jumping on any piece of evidence and turning it to support their desire to see Zimmerman convicted. This is trial by race. Likewise, the police never told Zimmerman to ‘stop’. The statement was “we don‘t need you to do that’ which is entirely different and does not mean “stop!”. Maritn’s Mother and the press and the gathering of holy men are determined to see what they view as justice inflicted on a man who was probably fighting for his life.

      I don’t get it…… WHY would he cover his mouth unless he had been screaming? How many assault reports has this police department taken where the assailant covered the victim’s mouth for no reason? If there was no screaming, it makes no sense that he would have covered his mouth.

      Then, how long does he have to have his hand over Zimmerman’s mouth to count as “covered my mouth”? Let me see….. scream, scream, scream, hand over mouth, BOOM! That could happen in seconds.

      The fact that Zimmerman claims Martin covered his mouth points to the fact that it was Zimmerman screaming for help, not Martin. This actually shows the consistency of Zimmerman’s account, not casts doubt on its veracity. I doubt he had heard the 911 tapes when he made that initial account to police.

      This court case is going to be a circus, and then there will be a circus in the streets. That is the desired outcome of the progressives, liberals, race baiters, & Commies. Watch how quickly that OWS takes up the ‘justice for Trayvon’ banner the day a verdict is issued.

    This is a wait and see story. I personally think he is innocent…….but that may just be me. I don`t feel I am a racist but think I can recognize raceism. Sharpton and jackson……..I think are raceist. Mr. Straite, a WW11 hero. He died today. His death came from the beating he recieved from tyrone woodfork and unamed others when they invaded their home in Tulsa. They raped and beat Mrs. Strait. She died two days later in the hospitol. They beat these people so badly that they died from the injuries. They were 90 and 85. What kind of cowards would do this. I am so outraged as are so many others are about how little outside coverage of this horrific crime. How is this not a hate crime. It took hate to do this. Only hate could do this. Lotus.

      Why don’t they add up. You get paid for detective work and make this comment? Sounds like the old prove the innocent guilty ploy. Too bad you had no way to plant evidence detective. Time moves forward. Trayvon told Zimmerman he was going to die. Let us try this scenario. Zimmerman screamed at the moment the neighbor was on 911. Trayvon having lost his burglary tools earlier that week had nothing to use as a weapon so he needed the gun. Wanting no witnesses he covered Zimmerman’s mouth with one hand so no one would hear the screams, going for the gun with the other. By then the neighbor had hung up so no muffled screams were heard at this time. This act put Trayvon off balance allowing Zimmerman to regain control of his gun and use it.

      What, detective you did not consider this? Sounds like you are trying to alter the facts to fit the political agenda the DOJ is forcing you to have. Or both you and the DOJ wish the framing to go on who knows. God does and every soul will answer for every word and deed.

      My thoughts exactly. Martin tries to grab the gun on Zim’s hip, after he knocks him to the ground and starts banging his head on the cement, Zim starts yelling for help, and then Martin tries to cover his mouth and stops his screams for help, the cries for help did not keep going on so it appears that Zim’s account is very accurate.

    This is beyond stupid. Let’s say the altercation and physical fight took place over a 15-20 second time period. In that 15-20 seconds Zimmerman could have yelled for help AND had Martin cover up his mouth. Both things can easily happen in that time period. If this is the best the prosecution has, Zimmerman is a free man.

    Besides, if Martin was covering up Zimmerman’s mouth, doesn’t that make him the aggressor? Either way, it confirms Zimmerman’s account.

    Ban Skittles and Ice Tea. Immediately DROP charges against Zimmerman. I started going Deaf at 7 years old. By age 12 completely deaf and no hearing technology was available. Because of my Disease, until age 21. I could not have the metal wire surgically placed in one ear that acts as a bone that rotted away in my ear. So I was completely deaf from 12 to 21. I CAN READ BODY LANGUAGE like no other. I am always right. This Prosecutor should be dis-barred and prosecuted. I watched her speech twice. That is all I needed. I swear by God. I read this woman so well that I can put my life on her being self centered and caring less about Justice. Only Self Gratification and Praise. Regardless of Guilt or Innocents. She stepped in AFTER it was to go to a Grand Jury, where it should have. This Woman is NO GOOD. Prove me wrong and I will go to Iran and start shooting at hundreds of Iran Soldiers by myself.

      Well, I was an investigator for 22 years and what these posters are saying makes perfect sense to me. Things happen very quickly and not always logically ( to the untrained), as a result conclusions can be made that seem to defy logic but are actually common sense. Common sense is what normally is lacking with these political hacks that call themselves prosecutors.

    That thug waylaid Martin. He was up to no good and had no business not explaining what he was doing in that gated community if he did not live there. He and all thieves take offense when they are questioned. He thought he was too good to explain his presence. Zimmerman was doing his job, armed and had he lost his weapon and Trevon shot him, then Trevon would have lied and said he was protecting himself from Zimmerman who is at leas l/2 foolt shorter and weighs about 50 pounds, may 40 less. That boy thought since no one knew him in that neighborhood he would go around and do as he had been doing, but he ran into Zimmerman, community watch officer. He should have respected authority enough to answer what was asked of him, or not acted in a threatening manner or this would never have happened. These blacks who feed the younger the bull crap that they have these rights to put themselves in danger for their “cause” are doing them no favors when they are being led to disrespect authority. They do not want authority so they can steal and lie about it and say their people are picking on their race. They are destroying their own race because people are not going to put up with their race card. They need to reply and get them one that is updated or one that has not been used into oblivion. It is old whiny stuff just to get “pity.” All the pity is gone and so is our patience. Get with the program, keep the laws or get your azz in jail or hell.

    So if Zimmermans mouth was covered and someone was screaming “ help” but it stopped the moment the shot was fired that means that Trayvon was screaming for help since the audio is clear not muffled. So Someone who is kicking someones ass and is reaching for a gun wouldnt scream “help” in the blood curtling way we heard. Sounds like a child in fear asking for help and got killed.

      Just because he had a hand over his mouth doesn’t mean it stayed there for the entire fight. In fact it may not even have been over his entire mouth. I don‘t see anything in the report that says that it caused Zimmerman to be gagged or that Trayvon’s hand was over his mouth an extended period of time. Zimmerman is going to get aquited. You should prepare yourself for that. There is no way they can prove 2nd degree murder beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

      @ Nevermind, sorry but the facts are that Martin was found face down which is consistent with him being on top of Zimmerman. Whether Martin went for Zimmerman’s gun or Martin was just beating his head into the ground, Zimmerman probably feared for his life and therefore the shooting would be justified.

      This will end in acquittal or dismissal for Zimmerman.

      Your argument doesn’t make any sense. If it was Zimmerman being pummeled and yelling for help, why would he continue to yell for help after shooting Martin? Once the threat is nuetralized, it makes no sense to continuing yelling for help. So, the argument you’re trying to make, that because the yelling of “help” stopped after the shot rang, means it must be Martin’s voice, makes no sense.

      If fact, both the person being shot and the person shooting, regardless of who the aggressor was, would stop yelling “help” once the shot rang out. It’s over. One person is dead, and the other person standing there in shock over what just happened. So the fact that the yelling of “help” stopped after the shot, helps neither side of argument.

      All that matters is WHO was yelling help. And the fact that Martin had no other physical injuries (bruises, lacerations consistant with getting beat up) beyond the gunshot wound, and Zimmerman had multiple injuries (bloodied nose, lacerations on back of head) consistant with getting beat up, makes a clear case that Martin was the aggressor, and Zimmerman was yelling for help.

    With all these reports/leaks from “reliable” sources, the trial by the media and the Rev Team, how and where will Mr. Zimmerman get a fair trial? Or is the prosector going to use the growing-in-popularity Sharia Law and declare Mr. Zimmerman guilty until he can prove himself innocent?

    The investigators are idiots! Do they think he is just laying down and taking it! I am a 57 year old woman and I would be doing anything and everything to break free of someone covering my moth so I could get something out for a few seconds! His hand could be on then off his mouth depending on how my h effort he put into it! What imbeciles !

    oh BS, total BS, we have had rowdy boys who were sibling-fighting and while having their mouths grabbed and covered by the other one, they always managed to break loose and yell ”MOM!!!!!” we opine Mr Zimmerman did the exact same thing but may probably not have wanted to be viewed as ”helpless” screaming for help as the wannabe-gangsta bigger taller and younger kid was on top of him, seriously pounding him into the ground.

      we opine that there is no doubt here that Mr Zimmerman is telling the truth the kid grabbed for the man’s gun, esp since the wannabe-gangsta was already on facebook bragging he had already smacked a bus driver in the face, etc.

      My thoughts exactly. Sure, there is no way we could expect Zimmerman to SIMULTANEOUSLY scream at full volume and have his mouth covered. I’ll grant that, and I don‘t think there’s any way to refute that. What is refutable is that Zimmerman had his mouth covered the entire time. Based on what’s been expressed here, I don’t seem to think even Zimmerman has made this claim.

      It is very very unlikley they can prove 2nd degree murder beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. You should prepare yourself for the riots.

      Zimmermans screams could the reason Trayvon covered Zimmermans mouth.
      Covering the mouth could have been the reason Zimmerman decided he’d better get his gun.
      The effort to get his gun could have led to the scuffle for it and the shooting.
