Allen West: I‘m Here to Lead Blacks Off the Democratic Party ’Plantation’

GOP Rep. Allen West believes that the Democratic Party is akin to a modern-day “plantation.”
In an interview on Wednesday night’s “O’Reilly Factor,” he told guest host Laura Ingraham that he is the “modern-day Harriet Tubman“ and that he wants to lead fellow African Americans away from the the ”21st century plantation.”
West made extremely bold statements throughout the interview, apparently undeterred by any negative response he might receive from the Democratic Party or from fellow African Americans. Commenting on anger that was seen at a Congressional Black Caucus (of which West is the only GOP member) town hall meeting in Detroit this week, he said:
“The people on that plantation are upset because they’ve been disregarded, disrespected and their concerns are not cared about…I’m here as the modern-day Harriet Tubman to kind of lead people on the underground railroad away from that plantation into a sense of sensibility.”
West went on to dismiss some African American leaders as “nothing more than overseers over that plantation” and he stated his belief that white liberals have relied upon people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to support Democratic policies. These individuals, he claims, have failed to addresses important matters. West also discussed recent flash mobs (as per the Huffington Post):
The freshman Republican said the fact that black leaders have done nothing in response to the recent spate of flash mobs in U.S. cities is proof of their disconnect from the black community. This summer has been marked by flash mobs in several cities, including Philadelphia and Cleveland, and are thought to be fueled by growing discontent among unemployed urban youth.
He also went on to say that Republicans have not done well drawing black voters into the conservative movement. That said, he explained that there is an opportunity for conservatives to reach African Americans by connecting with them on the issues of “individual responsibility and accountability, faith and family, [and] hard work ethic.”

It is so obvious it’s silly. Welfare and other government programs are specifically designed, not to help people, but to keep them right at, or just below, the poverty line. It doesn’t offer them any way to pull themselves OUT of poverty. If you want out of poverty, you are going to have to do it yourself and you are going to have to cut the cord on these opressive government programs and work for it.

That’s why all the Progressives are peeing their pants, because talking about freedom reminds them that they don’t really want it. If you want freedom, you have to want to take care of yourself. That what makes them afraid, because they’re confused at the ethical level. Ethics SHOULD give you peace of mind.
The flash mobs have a simple explanation. The Progressives that the poor support always chant the same mantra, “Tax the rich!”. The U.S. Tax Code puts the principle that “it‘s perfectly all right to take some of what the ’evil rich’ have, just because they have more than other people”, into U.S. law.
If that principle and example are moral in our laws, why are we surprised when a flash mob “takes the law into their own hands” and gets some of what the “evil rich” have for themselves, simply cutting out the government middle-man? We act as we’re taught to act! They certainly don’t have parents! The Marxist conditioning they received from the Public Education Monopoly is the source of their world view and lack of morals. Virtually none of them go to church. Tell me again, why are we surprised?

Time for real change and West is the one who can lift up their vision for real hope. It is going to take time and a lot of hard work on their part, but it can be done. Many of the things you claim we need to learn how to do. Some of already do and have done. Unfortunately it is not the positive or the educated among us that the focus is placed on in today’s media. We live in a society where the idea black people living like the Cosby’s is considered an urban myth. When in fact for many of us it is reality. My own family is an example of 3 generations of working educated professionals. Who have passed on values that are important in attaining success in society and personally. So rather then generalizing maybe you should be more specific.

Posted on August 19, 2011 at 1:28amIt would greatly help if black sports celeb‘s and black hollywood celebs did some PSA’s talking directly to black kids asking them to be more respectful to their friends, their parents. To be more responsible, take pride in their neighborhood and surroundings…. these kids look up to those kids of public figures and having them ask them on TV to do these things, makes a real impact. It would help with all the rappers and such to stop the gutter songs and bringing themselves down, these kids see them and mirror them.
I used to live two blocks from a city project when I grew up, spent almost 20 years of my life there, I saw it all first hand, I was a minor white in a mostly black/hispanic area and my friends all were from the projects and the adjacent surround blocks, so I know how my friends were influenced, and also saw a lot of things that todays bleeding heart liberals and liberal politicians have no idea about, because as a kid, adults say and show things in front of kids that they don’t think twice about, so you learned a lot of things about scams and BS going on that most adults never know, I learned it all and remember it all very well, things don’t change all that much – sure technology gets better, but people’s habits, especially bad ones, rarely change much, except for the worse, its always easier to go the wrong way, then the right way :-(

If he can educate and change just even a small percentage of the black voters to really see the truth on real Democratic socialistic policies and true views, he would be doing them a true service. Forty years of failed liberal entitlement social programs has truly created what?, a governmental controlled ethnic group that votes 97.5 percent for one party, this is progress for blacks? Manyt of the same problems the black communities had in 1960 are worst now then they were then, except now they are almost completely welfare dependant. Crime is more rampant, more fatherless homes, housing destruction, drug rampage, declining education levels, anger ,less jobs etc.,etc. Allen could help some of these liberals see a better way of life and give them some true hope! We have many problems in America, we need to fix very soon.

At the time of the novel’s initial publication in 1851 Uncle Tom was a rejection of the existing stereotypes of minstrel shows; Stowe’s melodramatic story humanized the suffering of slavery for White audiences by portraying Tom as a Christlike figure who is ultimately martyred, beaten to death by a cruel master because Tom refuses to betray the whereabouts of two women who escape from slavery. Stowe reversed the gender conventions of slave narratives by juxtaposing Uncle Tom’s feminine passivity against the brave daring of three African American women who escape from slavery.

Did you know they didn’t allow blacks to vote in primaries? They didn’t want them influencing who got nominated as the party leader. They had out benefits to keep them slaves (whites, too). I think we ought to reduce Welfare amounts each year until it gets low enough that it would be of more benefit to have a minimum wage job than to be on Welfare.

They don’t want to get out there and compete with whites and asians and latinos- they know they will lose. While I must admit there are certainly shining stars in the black community, there are not very many of them. Most will ALWAYS vote for the free money in exchange for their votes.
