‘Almost Uniformly White’: How Diverse is Obama’s Campaign Staff, Really?

In yet another example of its ongoing attempts to be “media savvy,” the Obama campaign has posted a photo of its staff on the campaign’s Tumblr, intended to show off the (presumably) totally cool and hip people working for Obama. Yet Andrew Stiles at the Washington Free Beacon noticed something rather odd about the photo, and decided to kill their buzz by pointing it out:

Yet the “army of twenty-somethings” campaign manager Jim Messina has assembled in the president’s hometown is almost uniformly white, according to photos contained in a detailed BuzzFeed report Monday.

So what, some might wonder – if the race of a candidate doesn’t matter, then the race of their staff certainly doesn’t matter. This is true, as far as it goes, however, when a Presidential candidate makes a habit out of accusing his opponents of being racist, then a uniformly white staff becomes a problem simply as a matter of consistency. (Related: ‘Post-Racial‘ President’s Campaign Lacks Diversity) Stiles points out the irony:

The apparent lack of racial diversity at the Obama campaign headquarters comes at a time when the national black unemployment rate is nearly double the rate for whites.

According to the most recent report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), 14 percent of blacks are currently unemployed, compared with 7.3 percent of whites.

One wonders what Michael Eric Dyson would have to say about this.

    The Marxist POS told the college crowd in 08 that he would fundamentally transform America and the gullible fools voted in droves for the Marxist heathen,he forgot to say what he wanted to transform the country into though.He wants a Marxist utopia with two classes,the uber rich and the poor and sadly the people in that crowd are destined for the latter they just don’t know it.

    It is odd indeed, but to really understand the picture you must read between the lines. Obama is trying to prove he doesn’t hate white people. This is the token white group. All the diversity has sat out of this picture. If there is no diversity and I making wild speculation, then let me say this wild speculation.

      Let’s see: is Hannity seen as a threat to the status quo on the Left like Beck is? Have there already been several orchestrated efforts to silence Beck through appealing to his advertisers and through infiltrating his boards to make it look like his fans are all wingnuts? It‘s certainly not because of Beck’s message, since nothing could be less racist. It’s not because of the people who show up at the “Restore” rallies, since those are notoriously filled with people who cheer about what Beck has to say. Beck’s fans tend to be well read, well educated, articulate, and even tempered.

      I’m black, and don’t lie, cheat, or steal- that isn’t how I was raised. I’ve had a white guy who I kind of knew from high school- try to break into my apartment and steal from me- which really made me angry because I had helped him when he asked for help. He was one of those kids who idolized gang crap, and along with the other black kids who did- made fun of me because I didn’t “fit the mold”, of what a black guy is supposed to be in their eyes. Some of this crap sadly even came from adults. I thought it was funny (in a sad way) because the first time I experience racism, its from other blacks- who were also angry that I have white people in my family.

      I treat people how I wish to be treated, I don’t see race; race has always been very unimportant in my family. I only see the character of a person, when you die nobody’s going to remember you for your race- only character, and accomplishments. As a Christian, I thought racism was especially stupid- because Adam and Eve are the mother and father of the human race. I never once in my life felt inferior, disadvantaged, or underprivileged.

      And no, I’m no liberal, I don’t buy into liberalism. I don’t buy into black liberation crap theology, I don’t like race hustlers, and nope didn’t vote for Obama, because I strongly disagree with his politics, and ideology. I honestly don‘t think he’s a good person, due to the people he’s surrounded himself with.

    Why do they look so happy in the photo? Beacuse they just learned that their boss has sold the election results processing to a foreign firm (SCYtL) who’s CEO is former GlobalNet head & obama major donor.

    So now we outsource vote counting to a company in Spain? Looks like they are laying the foundation for rigging the election.. Why haven’t we heard of this from the everyday government controlled media sources/?
