    the one thing that was said at the start was about how there wasnt much coverage of the war after the wikileaks releases. Presonally i think thats because those documents are going to show a gross mismanaging of the entire affair. On all sides.

      They attacked us, 13th Generation. We were not in Afghanistan on 9/11. We weren‘t there in ’98 either when they first tried to bring the World Trade Towers down. They were trying to kill us long before Iraq and Afghanistan. So even if Michael took your misguided advice he would still be Michael Moore – wrong on just about everything.

      Okay, so where’s the oil? Huh, where is it? What port did it enter our country, who refined it, what stations sold the refined products to consumers? Huh? Where’s your proof?
      Do you think all those other nations on earth would have let us do so when they are increasingly more dependent on oil every year?
      If we were only in it for oil, we could have nuked them and walked right in and taken it, couldn’t we? Why be concerned about casualties when we could have bombed them off the face of the earth with ease…. Why bankrupt our country with wars if we could have just drilled for the oil we have at a much lesser cost?

      This silly anti-war rhetoric of “No blood for oil!” is totally flawed and mindlessly transparent as such.

      The plot to attack us was formed and financed from Afghanistan – the Taliban ran the country and refused to hand over Osama. You can deflect from the truth, Nvrremember and lost generation but the truth is still there none-the-less. As far as Iraq perhaps you may remember broken UN resolution after resolution after Iraq lost a war and refused to comply with the negotiated peace. You can agree or disagree about American finally making them pay for yet another broken resolution but the fact is Iraq did not comply and there was a threat if they did not that this time there would be consequences. Iraq didn’t realize that this time someone meant the words written on the paper.

      And why shouldn’t we invade because of oil. It’s our oil! Those oil wells were put there with a contract between Iraq and multi-national companies. The wells themselves are not owned by Iraq. In 1968, the Iraqi government, spurred on by the Ba’ath Party, kicked the companies out of Iraq and nationalized the oil wells, essentially stealing the oil the companies had worked so hard to find and drill for.

    Michael Moore is a very confused individual that lacks the knowlege of our history. The United States is responsible for death and destruction. Hmmm…quite a statement from someone who has to be either an idiot or he has a black spot on his soul. All the wars that been been started by evil dictators, and all those wars that help was asked from America, and like the rightous country we are we sent our young. We defended those in need, we bled for them, we died for them, the world has our dead buried everywhere where we fought and died to keep other people free. And this insult by this complete idiot who chooses to stand there, never having been in combat, never having to defend this great nation on a battlefield and he insults the memories of those who did what they had to do for American and for our allies ? He is a despicable cockroach that should get his butt kicked. This socialist cockroach dares to say such a thing, he has disgraced himself and told America just how much of a traitor he is.     Why do we care what a socialist marxist has to say? This man condemns capitalism yet gets rich off of the people! Who are YOU Michael? Yes everyone was for the war problem is Gulf War 1 spoiled ppl as many thought ok going into Iraq and Afghanistan will only be week mentality. Thats why so many are turning cheek, the other problem is the libs in DC and libs like you tie our troops hands behind their backs just as they did during Vietnam. The rules of engagement are a joke.

    Either let our troops do what they are trained to do and KILL the enemy or bring them home. US troops are not diplomats they arent there to make friends with the bad guys. This is the problem ppl like Moore have with the war, they want it over and done with quick while restricting what our troops can and cannot do. It doesnt work! So Michael do us all a favor shut the hell up, stop trying to have your cake and eat it too. And since this country is so bad why dont you LEAVE! There is no gun to your head to be here esp since you love Cuba, Venezuela and Iran so much GO, I am sure they will take you in.

      Kill what enemy? We can’t “let loose the dogs of war” to destroy more infrastructure because it’s already in shambles, the enemy has no armies or military assets and it‘s not going to surrender either because there’s no real command structure in their organization. We’re fighting a war with partisans for which our military is ill-equipped (at best). We can’t tell the enemy apart from the innocent so we either:

      1) Kill everyone regardless until there is no person left standing in either Iraq or Afghanistan (or both)

      2) Try and be sure to kill only the enemy, putting our people at risk in the process

      3) Get our troops home, causing a collapse of Iraq/Afghanistan and opening the door for even more radical elements to move in

      because it’s clearly too late for

      4) ACTUALLY work to win hearts and minds, removing the recruitment and supply base of terrorist organizations

      Not a lot of good options there, sadly.

    I can tell you why there wasn’t a discussion about the wars in the mid term elections.
    The Democrats are in charge of the wars and have been.
    They never objected to them, they merely used them to get elected.
    All the “anti war” protesters were just democratic party hordes trying to win elections , not people who actually thought war was bad.
    Yes, the Democrats rallied against two wars and the troops fighting them, just to get elected.
    And if you don’t see that, then maybe you should ask yourself why we are stilll there and the antiwar Democrat leaders aren’t so antiwar anymore.

      Discussing everything Michael Moore has ever said would be a little too much for this thread, so let’s focus on the video at hand:

      Michael Moore says America has caused a lot of death and destruction in Iraq and Afghanistan. That is indisputable fact. Hundreds of thousands of innocent people, women and children, died as a direct result of our invasion of their countries. Many more will die. The Iraqi and Afghani infrastructure and economy (what little there was) is now totally gone. How is that incorrect? How is that a lie? How is that propaganda? Even military sources put the death count at around 106,000 people, and those sources are very conservative in their estimate. Estimates range up to more than 400,000.

      The only other thing he says is that many liberals regret their earlier support of the war. This is also not propaganda in any way, albeit rather inconsequential.

      Of course you shouldn’t always focus on the negative, but there are not a lot of positive points about our current wars. Even the Iraqis that wanted us there a few years ago can’t wait to see us leave. The world’s opinion of America has worsened because of these wars and our treatment of civilians.

      I ask you: In what way is that propaganda? Which of the things mentioned is untrue? The world‘s opinion and the opinion of our allies hasn’t worsened because Michael Moore is telling lies. The world’s opinion and the opinion of our allies has worsened because we killed hundreds of thousands of people! Speaking the (harsh) truth isn’t Propaganda. Saying everything is alright, however, would be.

As far as the civilian casualties, it is Al-Qaida and the Taliban that surround themselves with women and children, that hide behind babies, that blow themselves up in crowded markets and mosques. My daughter is a naval doctor that works with our wounded warriors and I defy anyone to tell me the men and women that are at Walter Reed and Bethesda are not honorable soldiers with many bearing wounds and lost limbs because they did try to prevent civilians from getting caught in their cross fire.       Moore’s ideological beliefs are flawed. To begin with, America allows anyone to become a success — ANYONE! Moore is proof of that alone; since he’s got no real skills, talent, or looks. Secondly, they believe that not everyone can prosper; someone only becomes strong at the expense of someone else becoming weak. Nonsense, there is no evidence that those who are weak will always be so; nor that the strong will always be either. Rather, history has documented otherwise.
      Their ideology teaches that they must take down the weak…. spreading the wealth….and continue to gain power. However, we know what happens when they gain power…. It’s never been pretty, fair, kind, compassionate….. All those things they claim only they can promote. We know better!

    Michael Moore is not worth listening to. The man has an agenda and twists facts to fit it. There is a dark mark on a soul but it is not America’s. We have done more as a nation to bring freedom. My daughter is a doctor in the Navy and her first mission prior to doing her residency was a humanitarian mission to South America, bringing medical care to poor nations. We are fighting an enemy that cuts the nose and ears off women who do not obey them – who stone women. Michael, we were attacked on 9/11 – any death and destruction that resulted from that lies on the souls of those that attacked us.

We fight today because they are still out to destroy us – any death that results lies at their feet. This is not a neat war with clear enemies – our enemies hide behind babies, cower in mosques, and is willing to destroy their own people just to kill a few of ours.       Mark I agree. People like Michael Moore embarrasses me and other Americans that actually love our country. He’s a pathetic clown reeking out a living on other peoples misery having to listen to him. I hear he has a large following of fans ( five or six) that are blind, deaf and dumb. They can‘t see or hear him and aren’t able to talk back, like most of the other liberal and progressive democrats that think Obama is Santa Claus and Michael Moore is one of his elves.

      If these progressive(regressives) find this nation so distasteful, why don’t they simply leave rather than drag the rest of us into their misery. Yeah, misery loves company, but when that company doesn’t enjoy your misery, what’s the point?
      Moore and his comrades need to pack it in and go somewhere more pallatable to them, like Cuba, North Korea….. After all, if their health care and economy are so great and just, wouldn’t they want to be there.

      These idiots are simply disgusting, how we let them persecute this nation — the very nation whose free market allowed them to become so successful. To allow an exploitation our system for a continuation of their insane, immoral, destructive to freedom propaganda and smears is ridiculous. We need to step it up and challenge these idiots to back up their claims with solid indisputable facts, or shut up and move out!
      Those who choose to interview these Alinskyites need to take off the gloves and hit ‘em with both barrels and expose them for what they are, and the hatred they hold for those values which made American great. Let’s not forget the success they gained off of exploiting this very nations values, making them to be a little more than hypocrites.

      Michael Moore, it’s so interesting that you should mention (again) America’s killing of others around the world. It reminds me of when you stepped up and condemned the Taliban’s killing of women for not wearing berkas, or for daring to go to school, or for torturing and killing men because their beards were to short or they were listening to music. Oh wait….

      Do you not ever tire of your elitist, hate America, diatribe. On the bright side, you seemed genuinely sad, so the day can’t be all bad.

      As it stands from his physical appearance he doesn’t look well. He‘ll probably die prematurely from obesity at the rate he’s going. He also doesn’t strike me as a very happy individual.

      If Michael thinks we are so bad why doesn’t he leave? .. go live in Cuba or Venezula if he is so “unhappy” here! …. He is a BIG phoney and fake .. he has a “Film Festival” in Traverse City Michigan each year .. a couple of year ago on his way out of town .. he and Madonna (yes that one also from Michigan) stood in front of a theater and told the community that THEY needed to raise money to for the theater to bring it up to his film standards so he would continue coming … NOT HIS MONEY … in the middle of a depression he asked others to subsidize HIM! Typical liberal complain complain but offer no answers and won’t put their own MONEY where their MOUTH is!

We give 75% of the worlds charity! 1 COUNTRY = 75% I mean what does that say? Habitat for Humanity, The Red Cross. Those who recieve our charity I’m sure are very grateful. Why don’t we hear from them? I’m sick of this lard ass and his anti-American crap. You’d think 1) He‘d move to a country whose guts he doesn’t hate, and 2) someone who made a vast amount of wealth with the help of the free market wouldn’t be so inclined to hate Capitalism.       Like it or not his speach is protected by The Constitution of the United States. You can’t pick and choose the parts of The Constitution that you find convenient such as freedom of religion and then condemn a citizen for expressing his opinion using his 1st amendment rights. He is not advocating the overthrow of our governmment or as Rick Perry did succession (Civil Way maybe) or Sharon Angle’s second amendment remedies (armed inserection because the election didn’t work out the way Sharon wanted). Angle and Perry’s speach seems a bit more treasonous to me. Sorry folks it’s his right to speak his opinion and not be deported for doing so.
